I've used regular expressions in the past. I have an app that parses a .csv file and replaces certain characters (commas). Here's an example..
item1, item2, item3, fruits are apples, oranges, grapes. Squash is a vegetable, not a fruit.
What my app does is search each line between character1 and character18 and replace all "," with "~". How this is done through regular expressions?
The file reads in parameters and two of the parameters used to be in Date Format YYYYMMDD but will now permanently be in format YYYY-MM-DD. This change, I believe, is stopping the import of the file from working. I would like to replace the new format YYYY-MM-DD back to YYYYMMDD in the code. If possible I'd also like to see some output so I know that the old format has been replaced with the new format. The code is below. I added the two rows with .replace code in green in expecting that to be enough but it is still not working.

I have a field that I display via: String.Format({0:c},amount) This produces the string "$28.28" However, when I try to convert back to a decimal amount, I get an incorrect format exception: amount = Decimal.Parse(amount.Text, NumberStyles.Currency) I also tried it with NumberStyles.AllowCurrencySymbol with the same results. I verified that the value in amount.Text is "$28.28". Am I missing something? Shouldn't these two operations use the same currency symbol and formats?

I have tried to replace it with a timer but cant get it to work rightwhat this dose is sends a line of text to a notepad one line at a time with a pause in between each line that is sent to the notepad, now the big number "Num" is what gives me the passing right now but with those big numbers it slows my app down.
I have written a program that uses an array of the english alphabet and Morse code. I also built a form with a input box for the alphabetic information and an output box with the Morse Code. What i am trying to do is basically type a word like "Hi" in the input box and produce the Morse Code equivalent in the Morse Code output box. [Code] This works but only one letter at a time. I am writing a VB.NET application which needs to extract data from an XML document. The Dataset.ReadXML function would be suitable, if the XML document was held in a disk file. However I would prefer the XML document to be passed via a string property of my class object, not as a disk file.
