I am working on a code that can read and display the rfid tag onto a textbox. What I am stuck on at the moment is that it displays all of the code from when a card is swiped over the rfid reader and I only want it to display the UID code only. The rfid code that comes up is as below:
I'm using VB 2008 to received data from serial port (RFID Reader). below is the coding that i used. the problem's, the RFID Tag number does not display on the textboxt. [code]....
I've been studying how to program an Intel RFID Reader. Are there any suggestions/links/files on how to program this reader in VB? Its application will be for pervasive computing purposes.
what i need to do is open a txt file, read line by line, decode each line into an array and display. Now all works ok apart from one line.
sTextLine = objReader.ReadLine() <-- Value of string cannot be converted.
full code here ------------- Dim objReader As New System.IO.StreamReader(sOpenFile.Text) Dim sTextLine As New ArrayList() Dim sText As String = "" Dim i As Integer = 0
I have a program that reads a text file tab delimted using OLEDb .I need to be able to allow the user to insert a user created record into the file which I can do.
The problem is I need to be able to let the user edit that record. From my understanding you can not edit or delete with OLEDB only insert So I thought I would read the file using stream reader, find the line I want to edit and just delete it, rewrite the file, then let the user insert a new record
If someone has a better way to perform this operation I am open its just the best way I could find with my limited knowledge and the reading and researching I have been doing thus far.
So I am trying to step-by step and first read the file which seems to work then find the line that would need to be deleted. So I was trying to use the line.startswith method. I am using msgbox to see if that works before I continue but it doesnt seem to work I know my file has several lines starting with "Active" but my msgbox returns "False"
I have a very simple HTML reader for reading offline documents, and works very well when open using the menu. What do I need to do to get the reader to display the document I selected using by doing a double-click on the document name? The application will load, but the WebBrowser control stays blank. There's not a lot of code in the program so I will list it below.
Dim fName As String Private Sub OpenToolStripMenu_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles OpenToolStripMenu.Click OpenFileDialog1.Filter = "HTML Files|*.html" OpenFileDialog1.FilterIndex = 1 [Code] .....
I want to launch a application called Foxit Reader pdf Reader .I know System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(path) can do it but . Requirements are Foxit Reader should be installed on machine. Now if it is installed how to serarch for the path of its Executable to provide the parameter as I can not hardcode the path for different machines.
I am trying to make a simple log parser that pulls info from a constant (real time updating) log file.it is CONSTANTLY being updated, and i'm having issues. [code] Basically, its messing up when its time to rescan it. I can't use the 'New' on it, as it throws a error on the stream reader. And if it's throwing an error with that, i'd be curious what other errors it will throw. The file doesnt necessarily HAVE to be deleted, but it DOES have to be cleared out. (so the program doesnt have to reparse all the lines).
I am having an issue with both Adobe Reader and FoxIt Reader when trying to print a PDF document. Both issues are different but a solution to either one will allow me to fix my issue. The issue I am having with Adobe Reader when trying to print using the following code is that it will not print it to the network printer I specify but just the default printer.
Dim AdobeReader As New Process AdobeReader.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = False AdobeReader.StartInfo.Verb = "print"
I have a VB2010 project where I need to read a tab delimited 50MB file using Microsoft.VisualBasic.FileIO.TextFieldParser. This technique works fine until the reader encounters a Unicode character upon which it inserts the little square thingy. The obvious choice is to change the encoding of the reader to Unicode from the default. This would probably work fine but for most files but this one is fairly large and I get the error TextFieldParser is unable to complete the read operation because maximum buffer size has been exceeded. By the way this file can be read completely without the Unicode option. Making the file smaller or breaking it up really isn't an option. Is is possible to increase the buffer size or is there another way to read this data that places the data in fields like the textparser and allows unicode characters?
So i want to create a program (or specifically a part of a program -form?) that will be able to load a xml file.I have managed to save an xml file from a xlsx workbook, i want the program to be able to sort each column either by it's value if is a number or by it's text if it's a text , i would also like to have a range sort so the "program" will only show results from a specific range
I am working on Some USB reader device..i got only delphi 7.0 example code...i can able to understand some code remaining cant so below is that code.
function ReadCard(fUSB:Byte;Buffer:PChar):Integer; stdcall; external 'proRFL.DLL'; function GetDLLVersion(sDllVer:PChar):Integer; stdcall; external 'proRFL.DLL';
I have a picture in my picturebox. In that picture, I need to draw a straight line between two points and calculate the length of that line (probably in pixels). Is there any suggestion how to do it?
I have a text file with an unknown number of lines. I want to read this file line by line and send each line's text in a check list box. But how am i gonna do that when i don't know how many lines exist in text the file? [code]The code above reads only the first line. I tried to do it as in vb6 using while not eof(but here i don't know what to write cause my file isn't opened in a certain channel).
I'm trying to make an application that can read a 12 byte hex string from the serial port and display it into a text box, the source is a RFID module that is connected to my USB port using a RS232-USB converter. My first problem was accessing the text box in the datarecieved event due to invalid cross-threaded operation. Upon googling that, I copy/pasted the code I needed to get it work, these are all the cross threading functions. The OpenPort function and Datarecieved event are my own code, the rest I got off google. The application then worked, but I would get an incomplete code, the first swipe I would get all 12 digits, and at every other swipe, the first byte would vanish. Upon some more reading, I decided to make an array, the size of the incoming data (shown in the code below), but now I get the cross-threading error again.I know there's something wrong with the way I'm using the array. This is way beyond my VB knowledge, and I'm in o I'm an electronics engineer and self taught myself a little programming to create some apps for my hardware.Updated code:
Public Class Form3 Dim msg As String Private Sub Form3_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles
I have installed hyperterminal for my RFID. When I scan the RFID, the tag is shown on the hyperterminal. I want to create a program using VB.NET that will function like the hyperterminal. When I scan the RFID, data will show and eventually, saving it on the database for further use.
Did anyone already try to read RFID tags but not by reading request?I mean, When some tag is readable can't just the RFID reader detect it?So far this is the code I've been trying to use without success.
Imports System Imports System.IO.Ports Public Class Form1
I'm trying to retrieve a record from access database on the basis of a string variable.
here is the code
Dim val As String( "kent") Dim comm As Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand comm = New Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand("select DISTINCT M_DATE_P from MACHINE_P where M_MODEL=" & val, conn)
i want to pass val variable, so that i can retrieve data at runtime.
the following code was to be entered to read each line of the file "line by line" It did not work for me as instructed and I am trying to understand why?
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click Dim FILE_NAME As String = "C:UsersOwnerDocuments est.txt" Dim objReader As New System.IO.StreamReader(FILE_NAME) Dim TextLine As String
I want to modify a text file. It has a lot of lines of text in it. I want to add a line after a specific line (in the middle on other lines) and write strings there.
The code i have, writes to a specific line but it also overwrites the text on that line:
