So i want to create a program (or specifically a part of a program -form?) that will be able to load a xml file.I have managed to save an xml file from a xlsx workbook, i want the program to be able to sort each column either by it's value if is a number or by it's text if it's a text , i would also like to have a range sort so the "program" will only show results from a specific range
I need to create an auto-fill feature for the 1st Combo-Box. It should list the EmployeeID if Search-By Field is specified as Employee-Number. Similarly it should list Employee First Name along with Last Name if the Search-By Field is Employee-Name.
How can I do this? I have no clue, I am doing this for the first time. I am using SQLite, Visual Studio 2010.
Dim mySelectQuery As String = "SELECT " & Search & " FROM EmployeeTable WHERE Status LIKE '" & Status & "'" Dim myConnString As String = "Data Source=" & Application.StartupPath & "DatabaseSimpleDB.db3"
I want to launch a application called Foxit Reader pdf Reader .I know System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(path) can do it but . Requirements are Foxit Reader should be installed on machine. Now if it is installed how to serarch for the path of its Executable to provide the parameter as I can not hardcode the path for different machines.
My goal is to create a program that just listens (no locking, no blocking, just listens) to a range of UDP ports (coming in via the internet) on my local machine and copies the traffic to a richtextbox.I have various programs that say they use the ports and I simply want to listen to what the ports have going through them, I need to make sure that the messages are still processed by the applications that they are supposed to be as well.I will NOT be sending anything. Here is the code I have so far, and yes I know I only have it on one port for now. Figured get one to work then worry bout the rest!
Option Explicit On Option Strict On Public Class Form1[code]..........
I have recorded as using this port is running and receiving messages...
I've found ways to read from a .txt file into Excel, but (having created and loaded an Excel sheet via vb.net 2008) I want to do the opposite which is to read each cell and row into a .txt file csv format like this: "Surname","Andrew","2","Mr","Hon.Member","PERCUSSION" I guess I need some way of knowing when the last row of data ends. Once in a .txt file I can load data in a variety of ways into several ListBox/s and labels without loading and reading the original Excel file.
I am trying to make a simple log parser that pulls info from a constant (real time updating) log file.it is CONSTANTLY being updated, and i'm having issues. [code] Basically, its messing up when its time to rescan it. I can't use the 'New' on it, as it throws a error on the stream reader. And if it's throwing an error with that, i'd be curious what other errors it will throw. The file doesnt necessarily HAVE to be deleted, but it DOES have to be cleared out. (so the program doesnt have to reparse all the lines).
I am having an issue with both Adobe Reader and FoxIt Reader when trying to print a PDF document. Both issues are different but a solution to either one will allow me to fix my issue. The issue I am having with Adobe Reader when trying to print using the following code is that it will not print it to the network printer I specify but just the default printer.
Dim AdobeReader As New Process AdobeReader.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = False AdobeReader.StartInfo.Verb = "print"
I am working on doing a Copy and Paste in Excell. I need a way for the user to input the range for coping form the first sheet. So I created two text box. But now I can not figure out how to combine the text box values as to create the range. Here is what I am woking with.
Private Sub BUILD_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles BUILD.Click Dim moApp1 As Object
I have an MSAccess 2007 DB to record our employees Personal Days Off (PDO). Until now I have only had a form to record each single day taken. This results in time consuming repetitive entry when an employee takes multiple consecutive days or weeks off.
My database consists of two tables:tbl_PDO (to hold the Worker, DateTakenOff and TimeTaken) tbl_Employees (containing the Employees contact info, Name, Address, etc.) A form for Single date data entry with tbl_PDO as the record source and the following fields: (This is the original entry method one day at a time and works as it should)cboWorker(with Record Source tbl_Employee[Worker] DateTakenOff(ShortDate) TimeTaken (in hours) A form for Date Range entry with tbl_PDO as the recored source and the following fields: cboWorker(with Record Source tbl_Employee[Worker] StartDate EndDate TimeTaken (in hours) I have been trying to work with bits and pieces of code Ive found online to create multiple rows in a table based on a date range.[code]...
I have a VB2010 project where I need to read a tab delimited 50MB file using Microsoft.VisualBasic.FileIO.TextFieldParser. This technique works fine until the reader encounters a Unicode character upon which it inserts the little square thingy. The obvious choice is to change the encoding of the reader to Unicode from the default. This would probably work fine but for most files but this one is fairly large and I get the error TextFieldParser is unable to complete the read operation because maximum buffer size has been exceeded. By the way this file can be read completely without the Unicode option. Making the file smaller or breaking it up really isn't an option. Is is possible to increase the buffer size or is there another way to read this data that places the data in fields like the textparser and allows unicode characters?
I am working on a code that can read and display the rfid tag onto a textbox. What I am stuck on at the moment is that it displays all of the code from when a card is swiped over the rfid reader and I only want it to display the UID code only. The rfid code that comes up is as below:
I am working on Some USB reader device..i got only delphi 7.0 example code...i can able to understand some code remaining cant so below is that code.
function ReadCard(fUSB:Byte;Buffer:PChar):Integer; stdcall; external 'proRFL.DLL'; function GetDLLVersion(sDllVer:PChar):Integer; stdcall; external 'proRFL.DLL';
I'm trying to retrieve a record from access database on the basis of a string variable.
here is the code
Dim val As String( "kent") Dim comm As Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand comm = New Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand("select DISTINCT M_DATE_P from MACHINE_P where M_MODEL=" & val, conn)
i want to pass val variable, so that i can retrieve data at runtime.
I'm going to create an application that will act as some sort of task manager. For stability reasons I will not use threads but processes instead. I have to deal with several third party libraries and/of COM servers that are not always that stable and can produce severe crashes sometimes. This may (of course) not affect the task manager
Problem with using processes is how to communicate with them? The process must f.e. give a status back of what it's doing every x seconds.
I was thinking of using TCP over a separate port per process, but is this the best way of doing this?
I'm wanting to loop through a range of dates set by date time picker. This is my code and as the SD.Value.Date is 23/05/2010 it shows Sunday for me. However on the Loop it keeps showing Sunday and Never stops.
Dim SD As Date = StartSearchDate.Value.Date Dim ED As Date = EndSearchDate.Value.Date Do While SD.Date <= ED.Date MsgBox(SD.DayOfWeek.ToString) SD.Date.AddDays(1) Loop
how would I accomplish saving a large piece of data, using the Stream Reader for the Line-by-Line, while keeping the carriage return line feeds in there?
I am pulling data from a SQL server database into a dataset. The date are a DateTime type:
[Code]...
I can see the data in the field reads: 2011-09-09 15:56:29.667. I have tried to convert this by adding convert(varchar(10),DateFrom,103) which results in 09/09/2011 and then Custom Formated the DateTimePicker but still no success.I think I might be going completely off track here so can someone guide me on where I am going wrong here or the best way of doing this
Part of my program is to simple copy a range of cells ~21 000 rows from one WB (oSH) and copy it to another WB (oSHOut). I've red a lot of posts, tried a lot of variants, but nothing works. Strange here is that if I copy less than 8500 rows, the paste to the destination range is OK. But if I copy the whole range ~21000 rows, vb.net trigers an error - "Copy method of Range class failed". So I tried to do this in several parts - 1 row to 8000, 8001 to 16000 etc. The first copy-paste works OK, on the secon - there's an error
I'm loading a table from a MySQL-server, which loads fine, but I also get the following error: Error 5: Index was out of range, Must be non-negatives and less then the size of the collection. Parameter name: index
This is how I load the database: vb.net mysqlAdapter.SelectCommand = mysqlComm mysqlAdapter.Fill(mysqlTable) mysqlReader = mysqlComm.ExecuteReader
While mysqlReader.Read sbar_progress.Value += 1 beslag_dg_beslag.DataSource = mysqlTable End While
I have a form where there are two date and time picker as StartDate and EndDate. I use MS Access database. I want to search all data within StartDate and EndDate and display it on my list view.
This works great, but I would like to make it so that I can tell it to play the sound file starting at, for example, 3 seconds and ending at 9 seconds in. For instance, I could have 2 Numeric Up Down boxes on my form and whatever NuD1.value = is the lower range and NuD2.value = higher range.
How do I specify at what point in the sound file I want to start and at what point in that same file I want to stop?
We were using Ofiice 2003 since long but now we are migrating to Office 2010.The problem that we facing now is that in our Workbook based on Excel 2003 we had a few ranges with names like BCD1, DOT1 but now in Excel 2010 BCD1 and DOT1 are cell names. The new version changes the BCD1 to _BCD1 automatically but we have to manually change the Macro code for the same which is a cumbersome problem.
PS: Some code that would automatically change the required in Macro Code.
We stream the BBC news channel through a laptop hooked to a PC in reception for our clients. Annoyingly the stream is interrupted randomly (the line isn't dropping, it's the BBC's problem). Therefore when it's interrupted we get an error screen appearing which we have to go and manually refresh to get the stream back playing.
My intentions are to build an app which will be run alongside (silently) the stream monitoring intermittently a range of pixels. If the range matches the error screen that I mentioned previously then I'd call "Esc" to exit the full screen and then "F5" to refresh the browser and finally a double click on a specified coordinate to bring it back to full screen.
Problem: I've been doing some googling and so far have only seen related posts where the comparison is between two saved images. Due to this I expect the answer to be "Take a screenshot every now and then, compare, return result".
