I need to see if a tag of a control already exists. I have a few RTB's in tabpages (dynamically created) which are given a tag. Now I need to see if a specific tag already exists in the app.
I'm trying to analyze web pages for seo. I'm trying to create my own personal tool to extract all the keywords and tags from web pages (a little clearer).I already know how to extract or parse links and text from web pages. The issue is that I tried to implement title tags, body tags or keyword tags in general via using the following code:
Dim theElementCollection As HtmlElementCollection = WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementsByTagName("a") For Each curElement As HtmlElement In theElementCollection If curElement.GetAttribute("href").Contains("http://twitter.com/") Then
[code]....
Try to extract all the keywords from the title, body etc. for this page:[URL] and send it to separate textboxes (title keywords in textbox1, meta tags in textbox2 etc.).

I was just wondering how to extract or parse any particual tags (whichever I specify) from webpages. I know how to extract text and links from webpages, but I tried to use the same method from the following code for div tags, title tags etcetera and it doesn't seem to work:
I'm wondering about a feature in Visual Studio. Personally it bugs me when I open a solution someone else has been working on and it's full of Controls with Ids like "label27" "textbox3" etc. One of the first things I do is either rename them or remove them if they are never referenced in code behind (as is usually the case with the labels).
I am using VB2008 and I am working on a project to read id3v2 tags. It can already read id3v1 tags, but the track name and artist are for maximum 30 characters. I want making it to read id3v2 tags?
I want to read ALL text between specific <b1> and </b1> tags + hide the tags, example text:As part of the Visual Studio product range, Microsoft created a set of free development environments for hobbyists and novices, the Visual Studio 2005 Express series. One edition in the series is Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition, which was succeeded by Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition in the 2008 edition of Visual Studio Express.[8]The Express Editions are targeted specifically for people learning a language. They have a streamlined version of the user interface, and lack more advanced features of the standard versions. On the other hand, Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition does contain the Visual Basic 6.0 converter, so it is a way to evaluate feasibility of conversion from older versions of Visual Basic. [code]I want to use .rtf because i need to save color etc.
Did anyone already try to read RFID tags but not by reading request?I mean, When some tag is readable can't just the RFID reader detect it?So far this is the code I've been trying to use without success.

I've almost finished my multimedia project. On the photobrowser (which constructs thumbnails of every photo in a folder and draws them onto a bitmap which I then make persistent and from which the user can select a thumbnail and the image is shown in full on a new form). You can print the bitmap consisting of 100s of thumbnails or the full image associated with a thumbnail. The onloy thing missing is getting all the Exif info - which is proving more difficult than I expected despite the propetyitems in vb.net. Yes, I have set the encoding to UTF8 etc.
I am planning to create a system for my case study wherein i can Add tags from images and search for it by "tags" such as photobucket. For example i open an image to my system, and it's file name was "WhiteHouse.jpg" and i added or tagged it as "Building". Once i search on my computer, and type the word/keyword "Building", the image "WhiteHouse.jpg" will be displayed on search results as i tagged it on my system. Is that possible guys? or i can only search by tags using my system/application? and not in the search command in my computer? If it is possible please tell me what to do. or if you have sample vb.net2008(windows Application) files it will be helpful. Or if you have sites related into it. pls send me those links, especially downloadable vb.net files w/ codes for further studying.
My question is, is there a way to get all the "a" references within a certin div i find? For example, If i wanted to loop through all my div's perfect, i can do that now, but when i find a match that is looking for "something_3", then i want to do a loop to process all the "a" refs ONLY in that div's container

I need a way to get the number and name out of these tags. I'm rather terrible at this, and I've seen examples on the site, I just don't know where to start really on this.
I have a form. And some controls(such as TextBox,ComboBox,etc.) on the form. Now,I want to store the controls' Text into a .txt file(or any other formarts). Then I want to read the text in the .txt file to my controls.
But it only showed be how to go to the first tags. In this xml, it is in a few tags, (<MediaInfo> <File> and <Track>) I don't know how to go past those tags to get to the tags that I want to get to, plus, how would it work when there is a few things that have <Track> as a tag? Could I use the whole thing <track type="Whatecer"> to get there?
I just have no clue on how to do this, can anyone please help me out to get to each tag? I am pretty sure I will be able to make it into a variable my self.

Anyone have any have some code to make everything (or even all TextBoxes in a form) read-only all at once without having to set every control to read only individually?
I have a form with a 4 page tab control. Each page of the tag control has components on them(texboxes, comboboxes, etc). Is there a simple way to make all the controls except the tab control read only or non-modifiable?

Im thinking an Array for each line. Each input in the Array separated by ":". Then I would like to fill the controls in my form.
Found a post from .paul. so it should probably be something like this:
Public Class Form1 Dim lines() As String = IO.File.ReadAllLines("c: estfolder1 est.txt") Dim textboxes() As TextBox = {TextBox1, TextBox2} Dim checkboxes() As CheckBox = {CheckBox1, CheckBox2}
1- Read an Excel Worksheet into DataTable (dt);2- Check 'dt' to know if some columns titles exists;3- Query 'dt' and discard rows where some itens are null or empty;4- After query 'dt', fill some ComboBox.I wrote the code below. It works nice, but I don't know if I'm using best practices when I use Linq to query the data table like I did.
I'm trying to make a program that can read .mp3 data (Such as Artist, Album, Year, Track number, etc), but I need to be able to do two things that I have no clue how to do:
1. Read starting from a specified string (E.G, On one line it states: [code]
2. Read until a specified string (E.G, On the previously stated line,I need to read starting from what I said, up until.
I want to build a system that will take the input from an electric guitar and capture the frequency of the sound. and when the frequency is captured, the system identify the chord, and create new controls to represent the audio frequency. i want to use the label as the controls. so when the controls is created, how can i know that the user is click on what label. is there something like label1.click in vb 2005 express? then when the label is all created, i want the system to read all the labels integer as the sound of midi. so i have to assign what integer for what sound.
I'm currently working on a WinForms project using .NET v3.5 due to limitations imposed by a 3rd party API that I have to use.
For the project I have to include some graphs however I've no budget (surprise, surprise) to purchase 3rd party controls & the graph controls within .NET v3.5 dont have that elusive "wow" factor that I'm looking for.
The chart controls in .NET v4 (MS version of the Dundas controls) are just what I'm looking for but I unfortunately cant use them as the 3rd party API won't work in v4 & there are no plans to have it upgraded to v4 compatable anytime soon
Does anyone have a pointer to any good (& free) chart controls that I could use ?
I have a form populated with controls. Short of looping through every control and hiding them, is there a way I can draw something like a message over them using the form's paint event? Or would I be better off putting an actual control in the middle of the form over all the controls?
