I am using Visual Basic 2005 to develop a proframme and I have TextBoxes, Lables and Buttons in that.I want to name these controls. I wish to superscript the Text. i.e., to denote Sq.mm - as mm with power 2. But if we type or cut & paste from Ms Word, the typed name is changing as mm2. The power i.e. 2 can not to typed with superscript text.
I am using decimal numbers to be able to sort correctly in Excel; however I want to have a column where they are displayed as fractions. I have made a function to convert them to fractions as text ( 1.625 converts to "1 5/8 dia."). I would like to make the 5 superscript and the 8 subscript. I can do this manually by highlighting the number and formatting, but I would like to do this in code.
How do you add subscript and superscript to a richtextbox? I need it so that when the user presses a button the selected text will become sub/p script.
For the past 2-3 weeks, I've been on VB Express working on different word processors, working myself up from the level of the Windows Notepad to Wordpad, and eventually (hopefully) something as good as OpenOffice.org Writer or Microsoft Word.I'm currently stuck on something that I can't quite figure out. My question is basically this, "How do you add subscript and superscript characters (not just the few numbers in the character map) to a richtextbox control?!" I'd be very grateful to anyone who could provide me with some help in this area.
I'm Making a Simple syntax highlighter and I'm Doing the highlighting in the text Changed event of a RTB and for obvious reasons I can't re highlight the whole document each time someone presses a key so i highlight one line each time the text changes. But this creates a Problem. If someone pastes code into the RichTextBox It only highlights the last Line. So is there a way to get if the user typed the text in with his keyboard or pasted it from the clipboard in the text Changed event?
Just a quick question my textbox1.text seems to get focus when I run the APP.how do I cancel any focus to any textbox?I just don't want to select it or anything when I work with it only when the user select or uses it.
I'm trying to create a small program, which I think will be helpful to others(in here). My aim is to convert the English text shown in screen to Malayalam. English-to-Malayalam conversion is not a problem. But the problem is, how to extract the text from the screen. In most of the converter/translator, the text needs to be copied or written down in the translator tool. But my program will cut off that part. That is, simply move the program window (having a rectangle hollow portion) to the English word that needs to be converted. And upon pressing a button (or autodetect), the English word is converted to Malayalam.
So, my question is how to extract the English text(or words) from the screen (which is seen through the hollow portion of the window.
im trying to make a program in which if the textbox text and the listbox text are the same order, which they are in the picture, a bluie fonted text saying well done appears. However only the red text appears which is only meant to come when the order of the text in both listbox and textbox isnt the same.
Here is the code that i used for this:
listarrays = name of listbox textbox1 = name of textbox
l is the name of the label for correct answer(blue font)label3 is name of label with red font which should only appear for wrong answer
Dim text As String = Me.TextBox1.Text For Each item As Object In listarrays.Items If item.ToString = Me.TextBox1.Text Then
[code].....
use another textbox instead of the listbox but thats just making itmuch harder for me as I already made the full code working with the listbox. My lecturer told me i need to convert both in string so both textbox and listbox are compatible and i did so (see code above) but the correct label doesn't show?
I am trying to implement a webservice but I am receiving this error :Client found response content type of 'text/html', but expected 'text/xml'.The request failed with the error message:Quote:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
I am trying to auto tab to the next text box after my limit of characters has been reached in a text box. Visual Basic 2010 Can this be set in the properties? I have 7 boxes, each allowed to hold only one character.
I first want my program to get the text from a text file(I know how that's done), but once it gets it, I want to somehow save it that it won't need to get the text again(for example, if you restart the application, it won't need to get the text from the file because the text is already saved).
What I am doing is creating a simple login and register system. I am going to save the information of each user into a text or ".dat" format and have them placed into a folder called "accounts".The small problem that I have is the "Forgot Password" option. I can't think of how to search all the documents for the e-mail or the username. So basically I need to know if it is possible to do a small search for the e-mail through all the documents in the "accounts" folder.
-I know another option may be databases...but I don't completely know how to use these. -I have general knowledge of arrays
I've been wanting to create a look like the attached jpeg Ive been looking around for a few hours for a solution to make text boxes transparent or have a background image. I've found a few projects on this form and elsewhere which include transparent text boxes, but every time I try to use it the way I need to--with the text box over a picture box--there are always various rendering errors. Most of the time, the text box is transparent if its just placed on the form (not over any other controls). But when I place them over other controls (like picture boxes), the 'transparent background' always take on the color of the form background.
This is one that I was trying to use. I found a few others around, but they all had the same render errors more or less.[URL]...I figured transparency or background images would have been supported natively. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I missed something in my searches. I didn't really see anything which adds background images in text boxes (rich or otherwise). At this point, I'd just like anything that works, so it doesn't really need to have transparency--just a simple background image would be great.
I have a javascript code that will output text in a separate textbox. Id like to try and do the same thing in my application now. Basically what I want to be able to do is type in a phone number and when the area code is entered to have it display the state.
Input textbox : 512 Output textbox : TEXAS
I have no idea if it is possible or how to do that.
How would i insert some text into a specific file?Like say i have a file named helloworld.txt it has Hello World as text inside it, how would i take some new data like "Bye World" and then remove the contence of helloworld.txt and replace it with "Bye World" ?
I am in desperate need of code that will allow me to search through a text file (.txt) and change the word "POLAR" to a string with a particular value, for examples sake lets say the string = "SUN"
