VS 2010 Client Found Response Content Type Of 'text/html', But Expected 'text/xml'?
Jan 29, 2012
I am trying to implement a webservice but I am receiving this error :Client found response content type of 'text/html', but expected 'text/xml'.The request failed with the error message:Quote:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
I've created a private sub called addIRCRoom Which makes the Tab and the TextBox, but i can't figure out how to update the text in the TextBox.I've made this function to handle it:
Private Sub displayOut(ByVal Channel As Object, Optional ByVal User As String = "", _ Optional ByVal Message As String = "") Channel.Text = "<" & User & "> " & Message & vbCrLf End Sub
But i just get this error all the time: "Public member 'Text' on type 'String' not found."how to update the text
I'm writing a small program that loads a folders contained file names into a list box, you then double click one of the file names listed and it appears within the programs text area where the user may freely edit it. I then have given the users options to export the data contained within the text box to a word template. What I'd like to do is add a button which the user can click in order to strip away all the html within the text areas content. I found a solution but for some reason I can't make it work. There are no errors displaying nor does the program crash out, it simply isn't doing what it should be doing.
The function I'm using is below: Function stripHTML(ByVal strHTML) 'Strips the HTML tags from strHTML using split and join 'Ensure that strHTML contains something If len(strHTML) = 0 Then stripHTML = strHTML [Code] .....
I've used the below snippet in an attempt to put the function to work in the text box. Private Sub btnHTMLstrip_click() ' calls function stripHTML, applies to text box richTxtBox.Text = stripHTML(richTxtBox.Text) End Sub So, its not working as it should?
i made a tcp/ip application using the .NET TcpListener class, my problem is that sometimes (about 30 / 4000) the connection between the client and the server got interrupted in the middle and the server response to the client is lost.is there a way to know if the server response was successfully sent to the client without the client response back?
i just wrote a simple java script function which will return true or false, even when the function returns false my server side button click event was firing. this is not happening regularly. i am using vs 2010 and ie 8 and vb.net 3.5, this is not happening all the time [Code]
I'm making a notepad and i added find method to find the string and i programed the code but when i search some string in the text box the found string not be shown until i will scroll the text box to see it

so how can i do this and my code is Imports System.Text.RegularExpressions
I want to capture all text in "TYPE>ITEM-## here's some text </TYPE>" which I can do with "<TYPE>ITEM(.*?)</TYPE>"What if I do NOT want to capture cases where ## is equal to 14?
I am trying to create a console application that allows me to read the contents of a text file and saving the data by specific name in a set of files. For example, the text file I am going to read is a tab delimited file. Some content of the file includes full name, school, location, and whatnot. I want to save the content by school name in a set of files that have the school names. In this case, everyone that attends "Central" will be saved in a file named Central.txt.Everyone that attends "Central Park" will be saved in a file named Central Park.txt.These are the sub procedures I came up with so far:
Readfile() 'Use StreamReader WriteFile()
And I think I am on the right track of reading the text file:
Dim objStreamReader As StreamReader Dim strLine As String 'Pass the file path and the file name to the StreamReader constructor.
Im learning Visual Basic 2010 on my programming class and we reached the part of file handling. Here i tried to make a simple program that can create a text file with the content of what i type on the textbox, basically i create the file if it doesn't exist, and if it already exists i append the content to it. Once the file is saved i can read it using the "Open" button. Unfortunataly, whenever i try to create the file, the compiler gives me an error saying that it cannot modify a closed file, although i've followed up the execution instruction by instruction and i can't find the error.
Imports System.IO Public Class Form1 Dim body As String
Is it possible to view client transaction requests and host response in a self hosted console window?
Front end client sends request to service Service console displays requested data in console window and forwards to listening server Server responds with data Response is displayed in console window
I guess it would be displaying the traces in the console window.
I want my application to open a web page that has an iframe within it named "test_iframe". Now I want to obtain the text being displayed in test_iframe. How do I get this content (I dont need the HTML code, only text being displayed in that page). Also if the iframe is hidden, can I obtain the content in such a scenario also?
I have used Web Browser in VB to get the HTML source code of a web page and put it in a richtextbox. I need to take that HTML and extract the data needed from it. I have searched and cant find an example that I can understand being new to VB.Net I am trying eventually import the data into excel.
Problem with splitting, i was able (with help) to get a text from html tagname, the thing was that there are different text with the same tagname and the only way i can to receive each one was with this:
CODE:
With that i get this text:
CODE:
So i want to remove the </a , how can i do it?
So now i have in textbox2 the text but have a lot of unnecessary html so i used 2 split more
CODE:
That work perfect but just for one and i need the others, how can i "integrate" that 2 split function more for get a clean text for each one. If in the first code i use this
CODE:
All texts are in a new line but then the second code doesnt work :/
I have been reading through Atheists posts in regards to client-server and TCP client/server connection's. But how do i go about writing a program with 1 client and server where the client side creates a text file.Once the server sees there is a text file it connects and downloads it to itself or the client pushes the text file to the server.Once on the server i will read the text file and put its info into a sql db.
Im using the following code to wrap html tags around text in a texbox and transfer the text to a single multiline textbox from form1 to form2.[code]My problem is that if for example textbox5 and textbox6 are empty i want the program to continue anyway.
I'm developing an app for WP7 and Win7 that will get info extracted directly from particular websites. The app will download the HTML source and parse through it to find the required strings. The strings may not have tags. note multiple instances of the string needs to be found. I've tried a few very rudimentary ways, and although they work, they are extremely slow.
On a image file (PDF), the OCR has recognised the picture and text. However on Visual Basics, how do you search for a text on this image file? The primary goal is to allow a text search (i.e POxxxxx) on all the image files (PDFs). The returns of the search will be the assciated image files where the text (i.e POxxxxx) is found on.
I am trying to build an application that will return a responce from a url containing an CGI "get" or "set" instruction. Example : Http:192.168.1.56:...in/get?exposure This is the syntax that would be entered into any web browser to solicit the IP camera for the current exposure value.
What I am trying to do is build an application that will allow these responces to be placed into a TextBox. Conversly I want to place values into a text box and submit the new value. Example: Http:192.168.1.56:...set?exposure=10
So it almost works. Really the only thing not working is that the lines are ending with the " rather than starting with them.Here's my code:
Protected Sub btnConvert_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnConvert.Click If txtVB.Text IsNot Nothing Then : txtVB.Text = "" : End If Dim input() As String = txtSQL.Text.Split(vbCrLf)
I'm Making a Simple syntax highlighter and I'm Doing the highlighting in the text Changed event of a RTB and for obvious reasons I can't re highlight the whole document each time someone presses a key so i highlight one line each time the text changes. But this creates a Problem. If someone pastes code into the RichTextBox It only highlights the last Line. So is there a way to get if the user typed the text in with his keyboard or pasted it from the clipboard in the text Changed event?
What am I doing wrong or do I use a incorrect way to extract text from an array? Using += takes up a lot of computing power when it reaches like 50000 characters so I want a method with much better performance
Need a bit of help with HTML Agility Pack!Basically I want to grab plain-text withing the body node of the HTML. So far I have tried this in vb.net and it fails to return the innertext meaning no change is seen, well atleast from what I can see.
Dim htmldoc As HtmlDocument = New HtmlDocument htmldoc.LoadHtml(html) Dim paragraph As HtmlNodeCollection = htmldoc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//body")
I am trying to build my own website and realized that it would be a big help to also create my own vb program to enable me to embed tags with simple clicks of buttons. I am having trouble getting my vb code to be compatible with html code (I keep getting vb syntax errors).
Here is what I've tried:
<strong>'Inside of a button:Textbox1.text = "<html tag example></html tag example>"</strong>
I am using this code to grab the text between the <url> node in an XML response.
Using requestStream As Stream = Request.GetRequestStream() requestStream.Write(Bytes, 0, Bytes.Length) Using Response As HttpWebResponse = DirectCast(Request.GetResponse(),
I'm reviewing some legacy code and I've found a bug that causes the response to sit indefinitely.[code]The problem is that someStoredLength is much larger than the actual size of someByteArray, so the client just sits there waiting for the file download while the browser just spins.I'm contemplating just removing the AddHeader that specifies the content length, because when I do that everything seems to work fine, but I'm worried that I'm not understanding something.Is it ok for me to remove this AddHeader or should I figure out a better way to deal with this problem?
