Jun 20, 2012
i just wrote a simple java script function which will return true or false, even when the function returns false my server side button click event was firing. this is not happening regularly. i am using vs 2010 and ie 8 and vb.net 3.5, this is not happening all the time [Code]
I am trying to implement a webservice but I am receiving this error :Client found response content type of 'text/html', but expected 'text/xml'.The request failed with the error message:Quote:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
What I need is a program that can click every 8 seconds. Heres the catch, It needs to click a location of a webbrowser but not interfere with the users mouse.....
My VB.net framework 4 windows program work fine for the users on Windows XP machines if they are in the local Administrator Group. I would like to setup this click once application to run as an administrator so the user doesn't need to be in the Administrator group. The program is reading the"C:Documents and Settings" & User & "Local SettingsTemp" folder looking for files with extension like "emf", "tmp" and "htm" and then deleting the files if they are older than 24 hours. We have a third party application that adds these file and doesn't delete them so I need the users to run this cleanup program.
I am struckup with a problem from last two days. I am creating a web application using VB.NET, Ajax & RAD Controls. When user clicks on a button I want to open a RAD Window and show the list of ledgers available to the user, so that he can select one from the list. And to open that window I have to call a java script function from client side, which is already achieved using the below code.
I want to make a program that enables a game to have more than one instance running, where it would otherwise be unable to be done. How should I go about this? A sandbox? Hack?
I have developed a vb.net database application(desktop application with sql 2005).I managed to create setup files(.msi) which is running on my pc.but when i install this application on my client system the application is running but all database operations fails.
The problem I have is: When I click on cmdListen in the server form and cmdConnect in the client form, both programs won't respond and they crash for some reason I don't know.
Client source code:
Code:
Imports System.Net.Sockets Imports System.Text Public Class Form1
[CODE]...

We want to set up a bunch of thin clients linked to a server running server 2003 using terminal services. When the thin client runs our app it needs to know which station it is so it can gather information unique to itself from the database. (IP address?). Our app is written in VB6.
I have developed a windows application which connects to Oracle Database and upload and retrieve data (using System.Data.OracleClient). It is working fine in my developement system. When I build a setup and deploy in another system, it is giving error that Oracle Client is missing.
Do I have to install Oracle Client in the client system to run my application? (When I visit Oracle site for Oracle Client, it is asking me to download a 200 MB file)
Is there any other way to do this with out installing Oracle Client in the client system?
[URL]I'm making a bot to submit a form multiple times. I want to add "public int count" and "public int max" to limit and count how many entries I've had.I can't find out where to put it though, I know in the class but where? When I put it somewhere it says end of statement!
Can't find any free ones so thought I would work on one on my own for the heck of the learning experience with TCP stuff.I'm about ready to start on the messaging aspect of it.The biggest thing I'm wondering about is figuring out when people are online.I'm not too sure how the whole thing works.Say I turn on my messenger. Would my messenger just send a message to all IPs on a certain port to say I'm online and then wait for a message back from the IPs that can return messages and then figure out who is online that way?
Hey guys, I am trying to send data from client to server (encrypted) and the string sent from the client is not the same as recieved from the server. I've been killing my brain for hours to get this to work but I cant manage. Im converting everything to Base64 string.
Client:
Public Sub SendMessage(ByVal msg As String) Try SyncLock myclient.GetStream sw = New IO.StreamWriter(myclient.GetStream)
VS 2010 Beta 1 offers the user the opportunity to change .NET versions.I compiled a solution then built same in .NET 4.0 Then compiled/(re)built in 3.5. The output info showed 3.5 but on an XP Pro (up to date .NET 3.5 machine) the Setup install produces an error message:"You need to obtain NET 4.0. Do you wish to get it now?"
I have recently started playing with sockets, so now i have set up an instant messaging app. it works like it's supposed to however, theres a slight problem. short of arranging for both parties to come online via email or something there's no way for the other person to know that someones waiting for them. So i'm basically looking for a way to send a pop-up message to tell the other dude to get his ass online,is there a way to display a message on a target pc's screen without a client application running and actively listening for an incoming command?
Evey time the "bomb" image pops up, the entire thing seems to break. I have trouble shooted this simple game for most of the day trying to figure out where the break is but Ive had little luck. I'll have to post this in multi post because it will not let me post all in one block.
The code below runs on the click of a button to create a table in a SQL Server database and then runs a stored procedure to update the table. The whole procedure runs and works fine the first time However when I click the same button again and run it immediately after I get a Object reference not set to an instance of an object. exception. Not sure why this is and what to do in this situation.
Private Sub test_rerun_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles test_rerun.Click ' create sql table
Client/Server Application in vb.net 2010 i have created but it was just basic one. I need to show send data from client to sever and sever to client and and more functionality. (like showing price ot item or anything
We are creating a Who wants to be a millionaire style game in VB. Our server is pulling information such as questions and answers from a Access Database and sending them to the contestants (Clients). All transfer of information is directly from the server to each client. One of the "Life Lines" we want to use is "Ask a friend", where one client is able to Instant message another client for a short time to get help on the question.
I've used Visual Basic on and off for years, but for some reason this has never crossed my path, though it's probably relatively simple.
I have a program which runs in the background, in the System Tray. (Which is to say it has a NotifyIcon and is Hiding.) Using the Registy, I've added a new item to the right-click menu for certain files (for example PDF) which reads "Accept".
The goal is to have this open the file in my program and have it run the script. The script itself works flawlessly with an Open Dialog box - all it does is change the "comments" on the file. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it without the dialog box.
i have been looking everywhere for the method used when you click the [X] Button so like that i can run some commands on form exit. I found Form_Unload method replacing Form with the name of my form and no luck. I'm sure there has been some talk on the subject but searching forum shows nothing that seems to work.
I'm attempting to convert VB 5.0 source code to VB 2008. The converted code will then be slightly altered to facilitate its incorporation into a larger project that I'm developing in VB 2008. After using the conversion wizard (which is actually written for VB 6.0), I have 49 unresolved issues -- less than I expected. Much has changed since the days of my prowess as a programmer (Fortran in the 70's), so working my way through even as few as 49 issues will be a challenge, and will (no doubt) take me a while.
The UI for the VB 5.0 code I'm converting is a "virtual remote," with control buttons that (when clicked) trigger communication to a USB-connected device. With assistance, I've been able to develop my own "virtual remote," contained within my VB 2008 project. Eventually, I will "substitute" mine for the original. For now, though, I'm wanting to use MY "virtual remote" to trigger the original.
I have the executable for the VB 5.0 program, and can run it simultaneously with my "under-development" VB 2008 code. Problem is: I don't know how to cause a "click" on MY virtual remote to trigger a click on the original virtual remote (which is being "monitored" by the other program).
I have a VB application and I want to allow the user to choose an option between "OK" and "Cancel" buttons when he want to exit the VB application. So far, I cannot figure how to allow the user to click "Cancel" to allow the VB application to continue running. [code] So how do I allow user to click "cancel" button to prevent from exiting?
