Running The Same On Click Procedure Again Causes Exception?

The code below runs on the click of a button to create a table in a SQL Server database and then runs a stored procedure to update the table. The whole procedure runs and works fine the first time However when I click the same button again and run it immediately after I get a Object reference not set to an instance of an object. exception. Not sure why this is and what to do in this situation.

I was scripting a very basic process manager, with a ListView component, and it was working fine for many days, up until now.Here is the code for getting processes:

The line of code where I put "*WIN32 EXCEPTION LINE* keeps running into an error(Win32 Exception was unhandled; Access is denied). Here is the full error description:

Message=Access is denied[code]....
As I said before, this had been working for several days, up until now.

I am having a form1 with only two buttons----
1) Start backup
2) Cancel
If "Start backup" is clicked.... system requires a lot time for backing up many files from source to destination. If I want to free the user before "Start backup" procedure is not completed ...
then what would be the code for "Cancel" button...? Only I want to stop the running procedure of "Start backup" quickly.

I just finished coding a small app which access the Outlook 2007 Inbox. On my dev machine, it works OK. I created a new machine in VMWare using WinXP, Dot.Net 3.5 and Office 2007 installed and Outlook configured to my GMail account.I copied the BIN folder of my project to the new machine and ran the app and it runs OK until it scans all emails in the Inbox. This is where I get the exception:[code]When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exceptionwill be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computerrather than be handled by this dialog box.Can anyone suggest why my code can not see the Outlook 12 assembly? Do I have to create an installer file for my app before copying it to the test machine?

One of my VB programs has to deal with loads of data. I keep getting OutOfMemory exception while running it.I monitored the memory usage from task manager Private=495M and CommitSize=521M.
1) What is the max memory I can have per process?
2) How do I allow more memory for my this program?
I am using Windows 2008 Standard 32 bit and .NET Framework is 3.5

I started out with a console application but half way I switched to windows form in the application properties. Does that have something to do with it? I do this because I don't want to show the console. My application takes about 57 miliseconds to run. Maybe it's too fast for the clr profiler ?

I have a slight problem, i have a Wages file, a File that is linked to other file. (Employees)
The user can Input the EmployyeeID and click the button, this will display that record with that ID.
When i save the PayFile, i want ONLY to save the Employye ID. When i come to search the PayFile, how could i get it so that it displays the Employee's ID without clicking the Search Employee button??

I am attempting to run (unaltered) the sample program found in the VS2010 package CreateDb.When running the Create Database intially from the button on Form1 I get a SQL Exception Error diaglog that states: "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. We have a VB.NET applciation that is run from a mapped network drive. This works fine on all PCs expect those with Windows 7, on those we get the following: "application generated an exception that cannot be handled" System.Security.SecurityException was unhandled If the application folder is copied locally and run from there it works fine. I assume it is related to Windows 7 netowrk security but not sure how to work around it.

I am doing automation testing of a web application using selenium. While running automation testing of web application you encounter application errors. Is there any way to detect those exceptions. Specially exceptions that are on the page which causes the page to hang up as it is not finding the element it is looking for or page stays on the same page and waitforpage() function keeps running.

i have this line of code to catch an exception if a letter is inputed, or if it is out of rang as a number, but I have added WHEN to avoid catching numberical data. Now how can I use an exception error to use it before my case statement in order to avoid running the code twice, cause once the case codes has been through it will run a clear txtbox which is already taken care by the try catch, don`t if thats clear for you but i understand it. here is the code in parts...

I am trying to make a routine that will be called everytime the mouse button is clicked. I want it to be called so that the controls event that the mouse is clicked on is triggered.
For example:
You have a button control on your form. Instead of having the Button1_click event
You have a Control_click event. And that Control_Click event will be used for each control on the form.

I'm making a program from witch one could run an application with different credentials.I can compile the program successfully, but when I press the button to run the program I get the following error: Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.The system cannot find the specified file.The code behind the button is as follows:

I am trying to code for is as follows: Construct a two dimensional array and enter into it a sales id number followed by twelve variables which represent sales totals made by the sales agent. this must provide space for five agents. I can declare the proper array and have done so as follows
Dim Sales (4,12) As Double. I also crafted a click event which will count from 1-12 (which excludes the sales id number) and disables the sales id number so it cannot get used. [Code]
What I am trying to do is setup a function within the same click event procedure which stores the current SalesAmount as a variable in the array and moves to the next slot to get ready to store the next SalesAmount. However I have no idea where to go from here. I have tried a ton of different pieces of code which are either all littered with errors or do not return a value when I call it. Calling the total of each row and the total for all rows is something I need to do for display and I am not one hundred percent sure I know how to do that either.

I've used Visual Basic on and off for years, but for some reason this has never crossed my path, though it's probably relatively simple.
I have a program which runs in the background, in the System Tray. (Which is to say it has a NotifyIcon and is Hiding.) Using the Registy, I've added a new item to the right-click menu for certain files (for example PDF) which reads "Accept".
The goal is to have this open the file in my program and have it run the script. The script itself works flawlessly with an Open Dialog box - all it does is change the "comments" on the file. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it without the dialog box.

My VB.net framework 4 windows program work fine for the users on Windows XP machines if they are in the local Administrator Group. I would like to setup this click once application to run as an administrator so the user doesn't need to be in the Administrator group. The program is reading the"C:Documents and Settings" & User & "Local SettingsTemp" folder looking for files with extension like "emf", "tmp" and "htm" and then deleting the files if they are older than 24 hours. We have a third party application that adds these file and doesn't delete them so I need the users to run this cleanup program.

I'm attempting to convert VB 5.0 source code to VB 2008. The converted code will then be slightly altered to facilitate its incorporation into a larger project that I'm developing in VB 2008. After using the conversion wizard (which is actually written for VB 6.0), I have 49 unresolved issues -- less than I expected. Much has changed since the days of my prowess as a programmer (Fortran in the 70's), so working my way through even as few as 49 issues will be a challenge, and will (no doubt) take me a while.
The UI for the VB 5.0 code I'm converting is a "virtual remote," with control buttons that (when clicked) trigger communication to a USB-connected device. With assistance, I've been able to develop my own "virtual remote," contained within my VB 2008 project. Eventually, I will "substitute" mine for the original. For now, though, I'm wanting to use MY "virtual remote" to trigger the original.
I have the executable for the VB 5.0 program, and can run it simultaneously with my "under-development" VB 2008 code. Problem is: I don't know how to cause a "click" on MY virtual remote to trigger a click on the original virtual remote (which is being "monitored" by the other program).
