VS 2010 Clickable List Of Custom Colours Linked To Text File?

I would like to create a little list in my Windows Form showing a list of custom colors with their 'friendly names'. Technically it can be anything (ListBox, ListView, Panel etc... whatever).
I simply want it to look something like this:
I would like to store data for this list in a simple TXT file in such form:
Quote:
Blue,Blue
Red,Red
#F6A118,My favourite color
#004080,Another color
And of course I would like each element on such list to be clickable, so if I'd click 'My favourite color' it should return the color's HEX value (#F6A118).

the new program I'am developing will enable the user to customise form and text colour.hese settings are to be applied to all forms used throughout the System.The method breakdown is as follows:1. User selects colour of form and text through hovering over a rectangle object of relevant colour.2. That information is stored to a text file.3. If you are working on a project that requires non-standard colours for text, it is possible to choose your colour by specifying the RGB components in the boxes on the colorpicker or by moving the mouse around until the desired colour is obtained. This can be put into one of the custom colour boxes and used until the program is shut down. Is it possible to save that colour to the custom colour box so that the next time the project is run, the chosen non-standard colour re-appears in the custom colour box?

This will sound an unusual question but I'm looking to find a way to reduce the number of colours of an image in a PictureBox from 1,000's to 15 and then apply a custom palette of 15 colours using a closest fit algorithm...
My graphics are never larger that 64x64 pixels generally, so the processing power / overhead needed to perform this operation is relatively small!
The inital algorithm I wrote is very slow and requires me to loop every pixel in the image and loop my palette doing a comparison to find a best fit colour.
Finding a decent method to do an initial colour reduction would be great!
I wondered if there were any inbuilt VB commands for PictureBox, etc that could be used to aid me in doing this...

I recently downloaded VB 2010 Express so i am quite new to the language, but i have worked with dark basic, which seems to b very similar.Anyway, my problem is that i cannot seem to correctly set out my array of a custom type/class. i am trying to create two arrays, one of available entities and another of selected entities of which the user selects the entities to be dealt with in irrelevant ways. i have creates a button (called test) which adds some entities to the available list and all the entities come back the same value but they shouldnt be as you'll c in the code. i have run the step into command a found that "available.item(#).Name = " will change all of the entity's names.As of current i am working with lists as the array kept asking for a 'new' statement but i couldnt figure out where to put it.[code]

How to make a text file importer, I want to know how to import list of names from the text file to import it to the listbox component by using browse commands and button. And by using webbrowse component to load the link [URL] and insert the name selected from listbox from loaded names on the text box of my url and click the button signup.
And after the name is added and clicked the signup button from my web automatically to remove the names from the listbox. And after every click of signup button to refresh the link and insert next name and continuously do like that. I need this to send registration link to my members that applied their emails on my site for being informed when site will be launched.

I'm studying VB 2010 at uni and struggling with this assignment, I'm stressing now with one week to go before its time to hand it in and still not knowing how to do it (even though i've read the whole textbook!)
I have copied the instructions and the files I have been given.
1 List all of the data from Teams.txt in a Listbox. Include suitable headings.
2 List all of the data from Results.txt in the Listbox (use the same Listbox as in 1 above). Include suitable headings. Note that you cannot assume that the file contains only results for the first 3 weeks of the season. Your program should be able to process a results file with more or fewer results.
3 List all of the data from Results.txt in the Listbox. However, in this case the actual team names should be output (your program will need to get this data from Teams.txt. The data should be formatted so that it is aligned correctly. Include suitable headings.

I've found out how to change colours for the text editor, etc, but is there any way to change the colours in the help? It'd be nice to be able to have [for example] white text on a black background. I have a question about doubly linked list the uses student names and ages and creates them into node objects. the studentItem class is already created for me I just have to create the nodes that will hold each item entered. I'm looking for a simple and efficient way to sort up to 60,000 strings that are 3000 chars long in reverse order and save them back out to a text file.
I originally thought of a doubly linked list, but then I realized that we aren't privileged enough to have pointers.
Is there some other way I can create an efficient linked list without pointers?

I'm trying to make it so my textbox is colour-coordinated automatically. By this, I mean that if a line begins with a certain bit of text (for example, a line starting with <text>) then it will make the whole line red.I realise that this may not be possible with a standard textbox, so I don't mind any suggestions that need an RTF item.

Can I create a Pen dashpattern that consists of alternating colours rather than a solid colour followed by a space? For example:
LinePen.DashPattern = New Single() {6, 4}
creates a pattern with a dash of 6 pixels followed by a space of 4 pixels. Rather than a space, I would like a different solid colour. That way I could create a rectangular cursor with something like a black/white alternating pattern, which would be clearly visible on top of any picture.

I have been working on a number of card games. Important, of course, is shuffling the deck.I have come up with a few different ways to do this. Currently I do not shuffle, but to deal a card, I lay out the deck in order, selecting a random number between 1 and the number of cards remaining and selecting that card. I then remove that card from the deck so that another card can be picked.There are two main ways to do this, and I am trying to figure out which one is optimal.The first is to have an array of cards. When one card is dealt, a new array is formed with that card missing. I kind of like keeping the array size exactly the size of the deck, but perhaps this is not efficient. So, the first array has length n and the new array after the card is dealt has length n-1. VB.Net makes it simple to change array sizes around like this.

I am writing a small program to update data in a SharePoint list. Now where I cannot develop or use applications for SharePoint unless I am on a SharePoint server, I thought I would cheat the system by using Access to link to SharePoint lists, and then use Visual Basic to play with the Access tables. I need additional functionality other than what VBA can provide me, so that is why I am using the VB layer.Is it possible that this is not permitted? Whenever I try to update an item in the table, I receive the message:
"cannot update '(expression)'; field not updatable"
The word 'expression' here is not a filler I added, this is the actual error.If I try to make the edit manually in the table using Access, it works fine (I haven't tried it through Access VBA yet...).
How my code works is this:I have a Dataset added to the project which connects to the Access database. I add one of the tables to the dataset and create a Class object to reference the table adapter (essentially a Data Access Layer). I can read all of the data fine, and when a change is made in SharePoint, my application sees the updates when it refreshes. But when I try to write back to the table I get the error message above.

I am working a small project where I would like the user to be able to add images to a form, specifying a URL in the tag of pictureBox, so that when it is clicked. They are taken to the website they specified when adding the pictureBox.
I have a separate form for adding the URL and image so I need to pass those variables into the first form.

History: (Do excuse me if I don't reference different methods I've taken so far correctly, I'm still learning!) I am building some search software for a law firm that I work for in Australia. It's all coming along really well, but I seem to have hit a snag getting data out of sharepoint lists and into my project!
I first attempted to add a web reference to sharepoint and after a while was able to pull in all of the data from the lists, fantastic!(OR NOT!). The issue then was when I attempted to load it up into an array using XMLNodes, whilst it loaded up fine and I could see all the data, if there was a null value in one of the columns, it wouldn't pull that null value across, therefore, I couldn't really use the data...

First post here, so I have no clue if this is the right place to ask this or not, but it looked like it.
Anyways, what I'm trying to do as an exercise is make a roulette game. I decided it would be best to put my buttons ON the actual table itself, so that the player can click which one he wants to bet on, and it'll bring up an Input Box asking how much he wants to bet, and yeah.
So, I tossed a button on there, set the parent to the picturebox of the roulette table, set the back color to transparent, and got rid of the text. Lo and behold, it's transparent!
