I'm using a web browser in my vb forum and it to find a certain element then click it when the element loads. The thing is though i don't want it to use the actual mouse if you understand what im saying. Like a appliation thats clicking certain elements but i can still use my mouse to do stuff that i want. I'm currently learning VB.net and can confidently connect to databases and return results to comboboxes run stored procedures ect to datagrids, However I'm wanting to find an online tutorial for doing loops with data so for example
I return the following data into a dataset
Orderno Orderitem Price GUID
111 Pies 1.50 xxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxxxx
111 orangutang 2.00 xxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxxxx
ect
I want to display each element on a page in a structured format so as to make a visual representation in seperate entities (labels maybe) of the data like so:
Order number
line 1 (includes item and price in plain text on a page i guess using a label)
line 2 (same goes)
Subtotal( )
The results and formulae i can do but it's simply how to split off the data from my dataset and display elements as seperates (also how will i dynamically create the lables as obviously i'm not going to know in advance how many order item rows will return )
Obviously this is not urgent but if anyone could point me at a tutorial or even better a few lines of code that will do this for the microsoft northwind data so i can mess about with it and play.
Is there a way to control the way a browser behaves such as if I click on this link it doesn't navigate to that link but instead show me the source code behind that button?
View 1 RepliesI am experimenting on a vb app and I have a textbox where you input the value of the href (e.g. http://.......) so when I click the button it will search for it and click it. So while the webbrowser is on a webpage which haves many href elements, when i press button1, I want it to find the one we defined at textbox1.text and click the BLUE HREF Link on the webbrowser (I think this requires javascript).

I am waiting for an email to arrive (the page automatically refreshes) and then I want to click the link (I do not need to click to open the email or anything like that) I also have the code to click and navigate to the address reason being it was the only way I could figure out how to stop it opening in a new window on IE
So my only problem is I need a way to check every x seconds for the element and then if its there proceed with my code and if its not wait and then check again or however this is done in VB.If this is not the way its done please point me in the right direction the code I am using to find and then navigate to the link is

Normally to do this I would need to reflect directly on the specific class, but inside the Master page it's always referred to as the Page type (the parent class). How do I determine the specific type of the Page property?
Here's an example of what I'm trying to do:

but it only ever returns the attributes attached to the actual Page class.
I'd rather not have to derive a new base type from Page if I can avoid it.

View 1 RepliesI have a form with a Tab Control that has 18 pages. When I click on a tab it opens the page and select a textbox on that page (txtTextbox1. Select() ). This works for the first 8 pages but not for the remaining 10 pages. Although on these pages I can mouse click on the textbox, enter info, save then click my Add button that clears the textboxes and has the code (txtTextbox1. Select() ). The textbox is selected just fine. The code for all my pages is the same except for the tab name and the control names. The tab key will move the selection to the next textbox in order on all pages and the Enter key is coded to do the same. The first 8 pages have a total of 256 labels, buttons, list boxes, textboxes and checkboxes on them.

View 3 RepliesI am working on a very basic draw poker program. I need to analyze the hands. So far I have been able to identify a a pair, straight, a flush , and a straight flush. I'm not sure how to find three of a kind, full house, etc I have a function that uses a hash table to find out if there are duplicates in my array. I can use it identfy a sequence of cards. (i.e. if it returns a 5, that would be five cards in sequence) I'm not sure how to/if at all to use this for a pair , three of kind etc.. Maybe a differant approach would be useful. I've tried various pseudo code idea on paper and just don't see it.

Why doesn't this exist? I am writing a program that will enter information into a copiers web interface for scanning. The problem is the copier's web interface uses Java and XML. I cannot get my program to enter the information into the apprioate field because i cant find the tag to reference it! its very annoying, this is the last stage to my program.

I am attempting to fill the zip code through on Target Mobile Find in Store and click the GO button. However the button does not have an ID when I look at the HTML. I am able to fill the zipcode text box using:

but I cannot figure out how to click the button. I've tried using sendkeys.send("{enter}") but that doesnt seem to do anything.How can I either send the enter key after filling the zipcode or click the button?
