Validating Login From Checking Sql Table?

I'm trying to check username and password by using a For Each Statement. If it validates then messagebox saying welcome appears, if it doesn't a message box saying "incorrect" will keep popping up over and over until it's done looping through the table. How can i correct this and just make it display one time. Also when it does validate a new window will show up with users First and Last name in a textbox, How can I edit users info and then save to db.

why the following Sub does not work as expected. It has no compile errors but it does not work. It suppose to validate a password entered by a user on a login form with users password in a table called 'passwd' in the LgaPayroll database. If the password entered matches what is in the password field of the 'passwd' table then it will display a form else, it will tell the user 'The password you enter was invalid". My problem is; even when you entered a password that is in the 'passwd' table, it is tells you 'The password you enter was invalid'. Below is the Sub:

I sware I am loosing the will to live, I have tried to accomplish this by my-self for about 2 weeks now and I am still at square one.
I am writing an application for booking conference rooms and I need a login form.
I have created my database called Users in sql and inserted 2 default login accounts, admin and default.
I dont know how to compare the data in my database to the data typed into the username and password text boxes on the login form.

My intent is to have the code - on a button.click event - check the Username and Password fields and return an error depending on which is wrong. Or if both are wrong, return a different error message. I've set the username as parts and the password as parts (still learning how to use external authentication). [Code]

I need to check if a Commodity entered into (TextBox1.Text) already exists on my table before i insert it. I'm having issues checking if the number of rows returned from my Select is equal 0? Also i'm wondering should i be checking for an exception and open/closing my connections each time i make a call to my DB or is the way i have it coded below OK?

I have a IF statement which is checking each row in the data table (for a match) and ELSE statement with commands which are executed if the If statement is not satisfied. Now I would like to write like so that it goes to the Else part BUT ONLY for values which are not satisfied in the IF statement. If I am more specific; I would like to calculate values if a match is found and just print them if it is not fond (usually there are both cases). Now the problem is the bold text; if there is a match found I don't want it processed BUT if the match is found I do. How can I write that?

I am using VB and have created a Access Table with a few columns. Simple things like....user name, password, etc. I created this table for my login form. I just want a simple login form where the user enters their user name and password. Then it is checked to see if it matches the Access Table. If so they are allowed in if not prompt and error message. For starters: I have the table created (it will only need apx. a dozen user names/passwords) I have the data source linked to the form already. My realy problem is getting the User validation information to compare with the access table accurrately. The Access Table is linked and the first row of the table is arleady in the text boxes. So, I went ahead and replaced them with noting on the form load.

That's the code I am using. It is not working. It either lets you in no matter what as long as there is data in each text box or it will not let you in even if your data exactly matches. I am trying to get the first instance to work before I try to get all the login names and passwords to work.

I had a problem with WebBrowser component. Basically, it works improperly when try to log in on one web-site (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site). I am working with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. I created a simple WebBrowser trying to access the indicated web-site. The problem begins. Well, the website loads, but when you go to the login page (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site) and try to log in, it doesn't work. I mean, when I enter the login details the login page just refreshes itself and the login wasn't proceed. The same login page appear with every login attempt. The is the current problem!I check with Google, it works. But, it doesn't work with Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site! Why?

I have made an Access database complete with a report/form UI, however I am now looking to take this further to Visual Basic. In my Access database I have a log-in form to access some secure reports. I am now trying to do the same thing in Visual Basic, with no luck. I have created the UI elements i.e. buttons and text boxes, but am now stuck at how to implement the code.What I want to do is make the login button check what's in the username/password boxes with a table in my Access database.

I have been requested to implement a login form into a friend's Visual Basic .NET application. He specifically requested that I should do this using LINQ to compare the input to a table in an Access database. I don't really know why he imposed these restrictions, but who am I to judge? However, the problem is I am not overly familiar with VB .NET, or LINQ.

I created a SQL DB named MainDB.mdf and a small VB 2010 application with some forms and datasets.Everything was working OK until i got a new computer and re-installed Visual Studio 2010 and SQL server 2010 on it. I copied my DB from the old to the new computer and also copied by VB 2010 project to it. I used Windows Authentication to connect to the DB in the old computer and also in the new one, i am using different Windows user account names though.
I was able to connect to the DB in the new computer in the Server Explorer section, i created a new connection string to the DB and i can seed there is data in the tables. When i run my VB 2010 application created in the old computer get error:
"Cannot open database "MainDB" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'D630Admin'."
I need to get rid of that error and be able to add/mod/del data from my DB using my VB application as i used to.

It is simply a "Y" in the road. If they are Company A, then I want to send the username and password over to that website and log them in as if they typed it in there. If they are Company B, then the same thing but with a different website. I do not know the term for this, so the google results are not very pretty.I can not do this with a query string (not that I'd want to anyway) as I do not want the username/pw to be visible.Here is the other weird thing. This can be done via a simple HTML <FORM> and Submit button as I have tested it. But I want to do it all in VB.NET code. How is it that it is possible with some simple HTML but not possible in VB.NET? I guess it could be a security thing, right? What do the good guys like us do when we legitimately just want our employees to go to one login page, enter their username/pw, and then (based on their username) send them to either pageA.aspx or PageB.aspx which receives their username/pw that they only entered once before on the first page?

I've been trying to make a app that logs into a website. So far it didn't work for me.I have trouble because:
- The "pin" (username) box on the site doesn't have an ID. (Can't use getelementbyid)
- The picture doesn't have an ID either
