How can I wait till webbrowser loaded the page? I tried:
webbrowser1.navigate(url)
msgbox("done")
I'm trying to login to a website wait for the page to finish loading then navigate to a page in this website.
Here is what I came up so far
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("nickname").SetAttribute("value", "user")H

How to use the documentcompleted?
I've made a gui for a cmd line program and I need to wait for the cmd line program to finish running before continuing.nd I have some code that starts the cmd line program and then calls a subroutine when it's finished running. But this method won't work since now I'm trying to run the cmd line program in a loop.Edit:Is there a way to just have the runtsmod subroutine (shown below) wait until the cmd line program is finished, instead of relying upon a subroutine starting when the cmd lineprogram finishes. This would simplify things greatly being able to call the sub tha starts the cmd line program and having it finish when the cmd line program is done.
Sub runtsmod()
'If the tsmod program exists in the directory the GUI is run from it is ran
Dim tsmod As String = Application.StartupPath & " smod_GUI.exe"

I'm downloading a file asynchronously so that it doesn't stall the UI. I'm using a very basic WebClient and calling .DownloadFileAsync.The file I'm downloading is required for additional tasks after it has been downloaded. The issue that I'm running into is that, since the file is being downloaded on another thread, execution on the main thread continues while the file hasn't finished downloading.Is there any way to pause execution while the file is being downloaded? Or is there a better method?

I need to get the url of the webpage the webbrowser is navigating to, but since the code executes faster than the webbrowser navigates to the webpage, it gets the url of the last page. I cant use DocumentComplete Event because i have a tabbed browser,
and i cant write events because im creating tabs(with webbrowsers) at run-time. So how would i check to see if the webbrowser has loaded a document?
I am using the FilesystemWatcher to look for files in a Directory, it does not matter what the file is. After a file appears it starts my ftp process and I end up with a bunch of 0 byte files because it processed before all the files arrived.
I would like to WaitFor... (Files_Created) to finish but dont seem to have the right syntax to get this to work properly. I have working code up until it loops. As you can see I have tried various processes to get it to work... mostly commented out. I also have imported just about everything trying to get this to work. Please ask away.
Imports System Imports System.IO.File Imports System.IO Imports System.Threading Imports System.Collections Imports System.Collections.Specialized Imports System.Diagnostics Public Class FileSystemMonitor Public Shared Sub Main() Dim fsw As New FileSystemWatcher() ' create an object of FileSystemWatcher ' set properties of FileSystemWatcher object

I'm currently making a Computer Cleaner, my program launch's rundll32.exe's to clean IE's history.
Like to clear the add-on settings I would put:
Shell("RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 4351")
But I need to wait for it to wait before letting it to go on to the next thing like clear cookies, which would be: Shell("RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ClearMyTracksByProcess 2")
I have an MDI form as the app start object.I don't think is related, but in the Form closing event, I check for some condition, and if it's true, I ask for confirmation before closing:
Private Sub FormBackground_FormClosing(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.FormClosingEventArgs) Handles Me.FormClosing
If (e.CloseReason = CloseReason.UserClosing) Then[code].....
So long, everything works fine in my development machine, which runs windows XP.However, when deploying the application in a windows 7 machine, the message box works correctly, showing itself whenever it should, but after the form is closed the application keeps running in the background. This happens whether the form closes directly or asks the user first.I have fixed it putting an End instruction in the FormBackground.FormClosed event, but it doesn't feel good.
I am confused what will happen, when I disable a timer. Will it finish the process and then disable or will it immediately disable without completing process? for example
[Code]....
I want to run getMessage from somewhere else, so I need to disable timer during that time to be asured not to override anything and also before timer disable it should complete that function code.
I would like to ZIP a file with VB.NET. The following code from Code [URL]
View 10 RepliesI'm trying to execute a 3rd party application, called from a .cmd batch file, called from a self-hosted WCF service. Like this:
WCF --> .cmd --> 3rd party app
For whatever reason, using the Shell command doesn't work fully. It will call the .cmd file, but the 3rd party app won't kick off (I know the .cmd is firing because I have before/after ECHO statements populating a log file). If I double-click the .cmd file from explorer, the 3rd party app will start just fine. So, I figured, maybe try something besides the Shell command from my WCF service.
So I tried the following code, but it won't kick off the .cmd file at all (echo statements not firing). What am I missing here?
Dim psi As New ProcessStartInfo("cmd.exe", "/C " & System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.AppSettings("ExStream_CMD_File_Path"))
Dim proc As New Process()
proc.StartInfo = psi
proc.Start()
proc.WaitForExit()
The path in the app.config file is valid (just double-checked). Is there anything wrong with the above code?

I am trying to run a new process 9EXE) from a VB.NET program. Basically I am doing something similar to this:

View 9 RepliesI know how to launch a file or executable in VB .NET 2005. The file will launch and execution in the code continues immediately.
Process.Start("MyProg.exe")
But what if I need to start the program, wait until it finishes executing, read the exit code that it sends back, and take some action based upon the action code? How do I do that?
I'm having a problem with using the system.diagnostic.process. Basically, I can't get the myProcess.WaitForExit to work. I keep getting an error saying that "No process is associated with this object.". I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

How would I make a VB program that can "wait" for a process to start and then kill it?
View 8 RepliesI'd like to have a function in my program that waits for a process to start, and once it does, it executes the code. Id like to have a form of 'buttonless messages box' or 'splash screen' waiting saying "waiting for process to start..." and once the process starts, a message box will pop up saying "Process has started!".
I was thinking of having a timer with a low delay constantly looping to see if the process exists, but that would be a little rough on the processor, no? Also, how would I accomplish the 'buttonless messagebox' that automatically closes once the process is found?
the below code starts the correct process but the windows form never displays on the remote machine. How do I get the application to actually load.
Private Sub RunRemoteProcess()
Dim sCmd As String = "C:Program FilesInternet ExplorerIEXPLORE.EXE " & txtData.Text.Trim
' add a reference to System.Management in Solution Explorer

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to read another process's memory starting from mbi.BaseAddress to mbi.RegionSize using the function ReadProcessMemory, however I only succedeed to read 1 address at a time and it takes like forever to finish, the result being stored into a byte() variable, calling the readaddressmemory 1 million times instead of only 1 for example.

I'm using an electronic signature pad for one of my applications. The pad has a Control Panel file which handles it's configuration (image display, etc). I would like to know if it is possible to open the pad's control panel from within VB.NET. I've tried using Process.Start() but can't get it to wok, and I'm not sure if it is a problem with what I'm typing in, or if Process.Start is not what I need to use here.
View 5 RepliesI am writing an application which needs to allow the user to select and open document files as a new process, edit them, then when they've finished backup the changed files automatically. For example, start a .doc file within Word or a .xls file with Excel What I wanted to do was use process.start to run the application and store the ProcessID returned in an array so that when the process finished, I could check all the files that were using that application for changes.
