When i get this error, i close my project, and reopen. then this error gone... "view designer" work normally and open my form. I have got 4GM ram,and when i get this error,my used ram is 2.5 gb. I am using VB.net 2008.[code...]
I'm prompted with this error 'Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown' it was thrown when filling a dataset with 400,000+ records. And I think obviously is about memory matter because of the number of records to be transfer.My program goes this way.. after filling a dataset from a table it will transfer all data into another table. Now my question is, Is it possible in vb.net that while filling a dataset it transfers the record immediately into another table? Please give me an idea on how to do this.

In my project, I have a local dataset (XSD) that I am using as local-temporary tables. I am getting a System.InvalidCastException when trying to access the field in one the tables. I believe this is because I my code is (incorrectly) not setting a field's value in a row before trying to access it.My problem is that the exception is breaking in the designer file and not in my code. As a result, I'm having difficulting determining which line of my code reading the field value before it has been set. Is there any way to configure Visual Studio to break in my code instead of in the designer created file?

I have a very simple table in access. The data is stored from VB.NET using the OLEDB adapter. I have a second form which has just a single DataGridView which was dragged/dropped using VS2010 from the Data Sources window.When trying to view the window the first time no data is shown and the second time an exception occurs and the program closes.

I am using timers in a windows service and facing problem that anytime some exception happens ( say i unplug LAN wire from my computer ) service stops running, What i am expecting is that service should keep on running as i am catching generic exception which should catch the exception on one tick event and again work (next tick)when i plug in LAN wire (i am plugging/un plugging ) LAN wire as this service is reading database from LAN so i want to replicate a failover scneario)

My intention is to 'convert' the low level exception into something more meaningful, so I throw an exception of my own creation. I want this to bubble up to a place where I can handle it.However what is happening is my debugger breaks and tells me that an exception of type "QuickBooksConnectionException" was thrown.I know that, I just threw it, why are you catching it? I have a windows form application made in Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Rel. I'm using SQL Server 2008 R2 for my database. I've been working on this project for a while now and I am almost completed with it. I recently had to add a field to one of my tables in my database, which hasn't given me much troubles in the past as I've had to do this before. To make sure I did it properly, I'll tell you how I added the field. I went to my database on my server and went to my table, tblOrderParts. I right clicked, and went to design. I added a field, Order_Delete, which I made a bit field so I could use a checkbox. When I went to my dataset designer, I used the wizard to add the field to the table in my program.
After I added it, I remembered that one of my forms was using a view I had created with that table that would need the checkbox as well, so I went back into SQL Sever to add that. Added in SQL with no problem, but when I went back to Visual Studio's dataset designer to add the field to my view, it won't allow me. I open the wizard, go to my view i created, vwAllOrders, and checked the box next to it. When I press Finish, though, I get, "An exception has occurred while attempting to set the data source generator property." I had to cancel out of the dataset wizard cause it wouldn't let me continue... even if nothing was changed.
Now it is also showing me an error in the Error section saying,
"Custom tool error: Failed to generate code. Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemory' was thrown."
Now that I've said the error, here's what I'm thinking is going on... Something must be wrong with the custom tool on my dataset. The tool name is MSDataSetGenerator. I went on more forums, and a couple mentioned trying to restart the custom tool by right clicking the dataset and going to "Run custom tool.' When I run it, it gives me another error. Not much different, but still different in wording.
The error it pops up say
"The custom tool 'MSDataGenerator' failed. Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemory' was thrown."
I have a large project where we have 2-3 dll projects that are converted from VB6 to VB.NET. We have fixed all the issues that caused compilation errors, and most of obvious issues in running, so now we have basically a program up and running. The exe is created from scratch in VB.NET, using a lot of functionality from the converted dll's (including GUI forms). What I wonder is when I run the program in debug mode, I get a bunch of warnings in the "Immediate Window" saying:

...and some of other type (but most of them in Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll).I was wondering if this is common in projects converted from VB6, or if it is caused by bad design in our code...

As a workaround, I can get to it by searching the entire solution for some keyword that is usually only found in those files: Global, Partial, etc.
I am using VS 2008, Office 2007, and Win7 Home Premium on my system.I have a simple application which should be a breeze to build. All I am attempting to do is pull data from an Access database with four small tables into a data grid on a windows project. Should be simple, set up the data connection, choose a datagrid from the table in the data source view, drag it onto the page and done, right?I can't get it to work. It will all work fine until I attempt to run or debug the project. The data will not show up. The data grid does, but I get this error: A first chance exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.Data.dll
As I said, the project seems to build fine, but it will not pull the data. After the initial build I get the message that Windows will show this page in Compatibility View. Is it something with Win7 Home Premium, or a setting somewhere?
