I have a public class element from another namespace, called A, that I want to access and use in another namespace, called B. Namespace A and B are in different directories but are a part of the same project and solution. I try using the imports statement and referencing the class itself directly but it doesn't find it. Does anyone know what's wrong?

I have a wierd problem with an Inputbox.Who I have not in VB 2003 and 2008. If I try this:

Then I've got this error:'Inputbox' is a namespace and cannot be used as an expression.Do I need to show an Inputbox in a different way than in vb 2003 or 2008.
I'm using the System.IO.Packaging namespace in my VS2005 application. The zip compression works fine for 1 or many files. The unzip though for some reason seems to only unzip one file. Initially I did this in vs2008 at home and it worked fine, but now at work with vs2005 it's only unzipping one of the files. Can you see anything that I might be doing wrong?

i want to select specific nodes of a xml document.Everything is ok until the document has an xml namespace. Then when i try to select the specific nodes no node is being returned.. This is because an xml namespace is declared. Is there a way to select those nodes and ignore the xml namespace ?

I'm using the System.IO.Packaging namespace to compress a file. I'm getting an error that says 'file contains corrupted data'. So i tried using a txt file with just a few characters, and I got the same error. I read where someone said to make sure you have all streams closed and I checked this and do so I'm not sure what to try now. Here is my code.

View 2 RepliesI've just picked up a project from someone who has recently left our company, and the project file for the project has somehow had XML documentation deactivated. Typing ''' no longer automatically creates XML documentation segments, and existing XML documentation within the code does not show up in Intellisense, and is also not correctly highlighted as XML documentation.
In addition, the Intellisense for the My. namespace contains only MySettings, Resources and Setting under the "All" tab. Everything else is missing. Attempting to manually write My. namespace code results in compile errors. These are not problems with the IDE; I can start a new project and both Intellisense and My. work fine in these new projects. I can only assume that this is something which has been set on the project itself.
How does one gain programatic access to the information that is entered into the "My Project" properties Application section?I am able to pick up the assembly name from those properties, but I haven't been able to pick these up.Below is the line of code that makes me interested in picking this up programatically. It seems that the compiler checks in System before it checks in sibling namespaces. Is it correct that System is checked before the sibling? Or is this behaviour caused by other issues (Imports order?)?

I have a program in VB.NET 2005. At some point I have to open an Access2003-Application for getting data in it. I do that by pretending my program is a human user and let it do all the work in Access as a human user would do. Filling Fields, pressing buttons etc. I use the Primary Interop Assemblies for that. So far so good. That code is in use for over half a year now. In the last week I got Office 2007 installed on my machine. Of course I tested the installed version of my program if everthing still works. Every test was succesfull. But if I do the same tests in Visual Studio it always crashes.

I have two Access database, say database One.mdb and Two.mdb. I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset. However, there should be something simpler and faster than that, shouldn't it? Any idea?

I set a label control and assigned an access key and also set the labels tab order to be one less than the list box but still have to use the mouse in order to get the list box. I also want to be able to limit the keypresses of an inputbox but I'm not sure how to add that. I can do it with a text box but I'm not sure if I should be selecting an object or not for the input box.This app is supposed to calculate total and average scores based on the number of judges selected in the list box (2-8)
