Add A Minus Function To My Calculator

I am new to the MSDN forums and was wondering if you could kindly help me with a learning project.I have created a calculator with a simple addition function button and was wondering if the method I used to create it is efficient and how I may go about adding additional functions such as a minus function.Will my current code allow m to implement a minus, multiplication, or division function easily?How do I add a minus function and would adding a multiplication or division function? Also would can I use the same global variables to do this.[code]

I am making a calculator at the moment and the plus works and so does the minus well the minus does the FIRST time but not the time after that.you would normaly get 2, but instead it says that the answer is -3.I have attached the calculator so that you can have a look.

in my calculator script I'm trying to build I have a putton for pi, named Pi. The text on the button is pi. This is where the problem is. Up until now I've just been adding the value of the button to what I call the DisplayScreen (The textbox that outputs your answers), but Pi is not a number. And I want the value of the button to be Pi, not 3.14 whatever. This is what I have for the Pi

i am going creating a simple function calculator, but I had to first do a design documentation proposal. I now have to update the project proposal with a storyboard or list of menu and screen items to delineate my proposed user screen and menus.aside from the calculator itself there will not be any menus.I also have to list any user data inputs and outputs my application will require and produce, which i assume i can put any numbers that the user inputs into the calculator and their results.

I have created a table with the following fields
loan_id (PK)
loan_date
loan_return_date
loan_user (FK)
i have set the loan_id column to increment in steps of 1, but when i add a column in visual studio 2008 express it auto increments in minus steps -1 -2 -3. it increments in positive numbers?

No matter what I try, it never matches the sign. I even tried using the string as the pattern. This function should be able to take a string like 1 day -36mins + 2s -1s and parse it into a TimeSpan object. Any pointers?

Just started on a touchscreen based project that uses the reportviewer control. I will obviously be putting my own big buttons for report navigation , export to pdf etc since even people with tiny fingers will have a hard time clicking the out of box toolbar that comes with this control (see below screenshot). So far what i have is a button and a text box and when you press the button it my.computer.filesystem.readalltext(from this file as string) but what i want it to do is to read all the text in that file minus whatever is in parenthesis so like lets say the file has saved into it, hi my name is bob but my realname is (jeorge) that when you press the button it reads and shows everything in the file minus jeorge which is in parenthesis

You could check to see if the distance across the form minus the distance across the picture box is equal to the horizontal location of the picture box to see if it's on the right side. For the left side, just check if the horizontal location of the picture box is 0.

I want to make an numerical integration method with takes in an analytic function and integrate it over a specific interval. For the numerical integration procedure I want to use some procedures in nr.com. The problem is that these are programmed in C++ and they uses functors to pass a function to the integration method. How can I do this in VB 2010?
I want to initialize the function (i.e. set a=1,b=0 for function y(x)=a*x+b) and then pass the function to the integration method. Then when the integration method call the function it only calls the function with one parameter (i.e. x since a,b is already set)
What is the best way to do this in VB2010?I want to make a general integration method where I can pass any single valued function and integration limits.
I have just started using VB, and from what I have found so far it seems like the tools you have is
- to us a delegate for the function
- to use a lambda expression for the function
- send a pointer/adressOf
- to create a function class/structure and submit this to the function
As for now I am most inclined to create a function-class. But I am not really sure how.F.ex. I make different classes for each "uniqe function" I want to integrate, but how can I pass them to the integration function when I need to specify the argument type in the integration-function-call?This seems like a basic problem which applies to many Math operations, so I think it would be very useful to clarify this.

I have a date in the future e.g. 13/10/2008 I need to subtract the current date (today is the 28/09/2010) minus 7 days, so thats 21/09/2010 minus 13/10/2008, which would equal erm, 720 something ? But the current date won't always be 28/09/2010, obviously. I need the code for this. EDIT: When i said future I mean past :)

I'm trying to undersatnd the syntax of calling a funciton and it seem confusing when I'm using a web service in ASP.net. Maybe this question should be in an ASP forum, but it is a VB question. This simple web service allows you to type in your name and it response with an alert box with you name.
My question is, How can you call a function with 2 arguments when the function is only defined for one. I understand that the second argument is actually a method that handling the respons, but how can you interchange function arguments for methods and how do you know that there are methods for

i wanted to ask how to make picturebox1 ,to which functions are already assigned, perform the same function as picturebox2 ,to which no functions are assigned.For example:I have already made picturebox1 and have assigned it alot of function like when play button is pressed then picturebox1.visible = true and when we press pause button picturebox1.visible = false. So now i decided to make a theme and have to remove the picturebox1 and want to allow the picturebox2 to havefunction of picturebox1.But when i disable the theme the function of picturebox1 should go back to picturebox1.
