Nov 27, 2010
Im trying to add a variable that shows amount of tax deducted in a list box among other output variables. If anyone can help I would like to know how to code the lstResults.Items.Add("-$ " & Tax & " Tax") bracket to display the amount of tax deducted from the total salary wages.
Public Class Form1
'Decalirs Variables
Dim Hours As Integer
Dim Overtime As Integer
I am looking to create a function in which I can pass in an integer (count) and create an amount of picturebox's based on the count. For example if I pass in an integer count, it should do this, only I don't know the correct syntax for it.[code]I am making a huge list of pictureboxes that will scroll on a form, 5 showing at a time. Also, if there are a huge amount of pictureboxes, will I be better off keeping like 7 pictureboxes on the form and keep rotating images throughout? Images are coming from a folderlist in a listbox (so I can easily pull the path of the image from an index).
I wrote a web application(website) for a company using vb.net 2008 in VB.NET and asp.net and , so now i want to create a "Setup Project" trying to make it an installation package.according some online source i did: click "File"on the main menu, then, new project> web setup project>ok , then select webapplication folder However, when I tried to "Add -> Project Output", the "Add Project Output Group" dialog box shows up empty. There is nothing showing up in the drop-down list. According to a VB.NET book as well as some online tutorial, there are supposed to be stuff in the drop-down list showing the types of projects.
In VS 2008, VB.Net, I am successful connecting to a local SQL Server (version 8) and seeing all tables/views/procedures in Server Explorer. The local OS is Win XP Pro SP3. I created an ODBC data source to a remote SQL server (also version 8) with a database of the same structure as the local one. The connection tests out ok. The remote computer runs Windows Server 2000 SP4. In the VS 2008 Server Explorer I add this ODBC source. When I click on the plus-signs to expand items, neither the tables nor the views show anything, whereas the full list of procedures appears. Is it the old SQL Server version? Is it the old Server OS version? Something else alltogether?

I am using vb2008.net express,I test vs2005term it work, can any tell me what is the input variable and output variable of this terminal?how to catch the input and output variable to a textbox1 for sending and a textbox2 for receiving when I press send button? is that possible?
I am looking for a good resource on variable naming conventions to illustrate variable type and where variables are declared. So I will have public variables, Private variables, private or local variables. I also may want to declare variables with the same name in different class code (i.e. in the code behind different forms). I am assuming good coding would dicatate a prefix for declaration location.
I need to induce a variable amount of lag in vb.net. System should be noticeably slower. I can raise the CPU usage of the program with infinite loops and some variable creation/assignments, but how can I actually cause lag? I'd like to have an "InvokeLag" sub which will perform an action to slow down the computer, the faster the function is called the faster it lags. The function should be as mundane as possible, not modifying anything or doing anything to cause damage other than simple lag.
How can you trace the amount of memory used by each variable, process in a program? I tried CLR 2.0 but am not sure how to read the results. Are there any really good articles on CLR 2.0 that describes what I am looking for?
dim a as integer = 5 dim b as integer = 1 dim c as integer = 10
What is the most efficient method of determining which variable has the largest value while using the least amount of code? I know this can be done with if statements, but there must be a more elegant way to do it.
I'm trying to work out a program where you can set up a variable amount of timers (like egg timers). Each timer works independently of the other (you can stop a timer, reset another, and so on, and the rest are not effected).I thought of using a single timer and then creating a custom egg timer class to handle the countdown, store the current time, etc, and use a collection of these classes inside a timer event (at the tick, do a for each to reduce the countdown on the classes by some milliseconds). Then I got to thinking: all of these egg timer classes in the collection with the for each loop may cause some accuracy loss (say, I add 50 egg timers).
Does anyone think the accuracy loss for updating all of the egg timers would be too adverse? Should I try running them on separate threads (have not thought about how yet), or will that make much difference?
OK, after trying to get this working for a couple of days now I decided that I would turn to the experts here. I am trying to create a nested loop with a variable amount of nests. Let me elaborate. I have a program that first asks for the minimum and maximum amount of loops, I currently have a SELECT CASE statement that addresses each level of nesting individually.
Dim cMin As Integer = InputBox("Min") Dim cMax As Integer = InputBox("Max") Dim c1, c2, c3 As Integer
I am making a Vending machine that requires you to logon and then you can purchase things and the purchases are deducted from your balance. The logon information as well as the balance is stored in an access file. I have the logon working well and understand everything except the things dealing with the balance. How can I make it so that when you logon it takes you to the purchase screen and The person you logged on as name and balance are shown on labels. I also don't know how to deal with balance. So when they log on and purchase the amount is detracted from their particular balance.
I have a change calculator program that has two user inputs and 6 outputs. The user inputs how much money is owed, then how much money is received. IT will then display how much change you need to give back. It should also display the different types of currency that are available to give as change. Here is my code so far.
I have been banging my head against a brick wall for 2 days on this one. Someone please help, I am sure I am doing something stupidly wrong.I have a stored procedure that accepts 2 inputs and has 4 outputs. The SP checks the users database against a given username and password.
I have a mesurement that could be any random value, just for fun well make that 2440mm i need to divde that by the industry standard of 610mm which comes out at 2440 / 610 = 4
Programicaly written NEWVAL = YVAL / STDVAL
NEWVAL (4) gives me refrence to how many instances I want to append a new line in a txt file I know that I want the first line to say 0,0,0 and the second line to say 0,610,0 the third 0,1220,0 the fourth 0,1830,0 and the last 0,2440,0, though this is easily achived with addition how can I automate vb.net to produce a new write line for each each instace of 610 if the YVAL is user defind.Put in simple terms half would be missing if the YVAL variable is double in length at 4880mm?
Is there a limit to the maximum amount a List(Of T) can hold? I need to know because I have a program that could potentially wind up in a really large loop that would add over 200 or so items to a list at one time.
MSDN search didn't really tell me much, but I'm in a rush at the moment, and was just wondering.
I am trying to change the background randomly from a selected list after a certain amount of time. I have the array set-up and I have it picking a random path (ex c:images est.jpg). I found in the registry the background image settings. I tried setting the registry key to the path but it seems like there is more to it than that because it doesn't change it. I also saw where it stored the file and tried changing it but again it doesn't change it. The funny thing is if I go to display properties afterwards it shows the correct image just doesnt set it. If I then click a different image and go back to it then it sets it. How can I make it update the background?

(I have only just learnt about this and i'm still unsure what a namespace actually is) This is what i have so far (i have tried to put it in context):
Next j Dim indashoneTmp, getWinTemp As Integer Dim indashone As String[code]....
It is a do loop that is putting calculated values into an xml output file.
I am trying to create a program that solves the rubiks cube and ive started, I made a program that asks for the variables, now I want to output them using my function writeline().
