May 7, 2010
I need to put the date and time in the status bar.In the first panel I have the version of the program and in the second I would like to show todays date in it.The properties page does not have an option to add date, I can add Icons and text but is there a way to add date and time?
I have application that use MSSQL database. Application have module that is using for sending messages between application users. When one user send message to another I insert message in database, and set message status to 1( after user read message database I update and set message status to 0). Now, I am using system.timers.timer for checking message status, and if message status 1 user get alert that he has one message inbox. The problem is that this application can be used by many users, and if timer run ever 5 minutes this gone slow application and database.
i have a problem with my project.i use a timer to change the server status become online i madeit for that.Do you need all form who are already my online server. Not my problem Is who are already online.I have a problem with my project. I user timer to change the server status become online i already do that and those forms need to be seen who already online. My Problem is into the form did not seen who's server Online. This is my code for the Timer:
Dim timercount As Integer = 5 Private Sub Timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick If timercount = 0 Then[code]......
I have 2 panels and what to run a command when they are a minimum of 30 pixels away from each other. Ive tried pnl1.intersectwith(pnl.bounds - 30) but doesnt work out
I'm trying to make custom ListBox with some graphics. Base is ItemCollection - each item contains Panel, 2x label and 2x picturebox. What each panel have to do:
- Change backcolor on MouseEnter and set color back when MouseLeave occurs. - On MouseDown(LMB) - Panel stays "selected" - different color.
Problem: I can't access multiple panels at a time(and I need to), just one via sender as in function. Of course, I can do it hacky way, but I want to do it effective and regular. Is ItemCollection the right solution or should I do it just like an array of panels? Also I want them in one "box", ItemCollection is good for it.
Second "problem": I need to make labels "merged" in panels, when i MouseEnter them(labels), background color on that panel sets to my default color. when i MouseClick them(labels), nothing happens (need to "select" parent panel). It can be again fixed with hacky way, just disable labels - but then the colors of labels are unchangeable.
I have a leagcy application written in VB6 which makes posts to URLs using the InternetExplorer.application object.Once a post is made i would like to be able to see the status which was returned (i.e. 404 - page not found)
I can't find any properties of the object which will give me this information,
If I declare my object at the beggining of my page class, and instantiate it in a dropdownlist selected_index change event. Shouldn't this object be available thru out the entire page and also persist thru a postback? I lose the object in my selected date change event in my calendar.
I'm trying to set the format of a column in a datagridview. When I put the format statement in the on load event for the form, it has no effect. When I put it in the cellformatting event I get the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error. I checked the column name. What I am doing wrong?
This is the code:Private Sub MeetingTblDataGridView_CellFormatting(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellFormattingEventArgs) Handles MeetingTblDataGridView.CellFormatting Me.MeetingTblDataGridView.Columns("Starttime").DefaultCellStyle.Format = "HH:mm:ss" End Sub What I'm trying to do is get rid of the date part of a Date/Time field (stored in an Access database) in a datagridview column.
I'm using date in the format dd-mm-yyyy and I need to convert a string inthis format to a date type.My string is "18-01-2010" but when I do the conversion using dim TargetDate as date=CDate(TgDstr).where TgDstr is "18-01-2010", the resutant TargetDate, as note in the debugger window, is #1/18/2010# rather than #18/1/2010# which I expected. What change in code should I made to get the desired result?
(P.s. I've checked the current culture with the following line of code:
Dim str As String = CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.Name and get the result 'zh-HK'... and the date-time format I find in the control panel is also in dd-mm-yy format)
I have a problem regarding timer in the listbox. It suppose the time and date have to appear once only but it appear a non stop in listbox when run.
Here is the code: Private Sub Timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick ListBox1.Items.Add(TimeString) ListBox1.Items.Add(DateString) End Sub Also I want to know the code for 'day', like monday, tuesday and etc.

I'm using vb10. I need to use a timer for forms to turn off and on and I was going to use a timer control and I noticed there is a timer class. What is the difference? Should I use the timer class instead?
I'm developing this procedure using a timer object. The thing is the procedure is not in the timer's event procedure but I want it to depend on the timer's interval when executing, it's just not calling the timer procedure. How can u declare objects and use their event procedures in code.
After reading all the examples for list of T exists and Find and find first, none show how to handle multi-property objects. Below is bare bones example maybe someone could flesh out to show how this should be done.
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim DatePriceList As New List(Of DateAndPrice) DatePriceList.Add(New DateAndPrice(Date.Parse("1/1/2000"), 10.12)) DatePriceList.Add(New DateAndPrice(Date.Parse("1/2/2000"), 11.12))

I have some some dates as strings in the format dd/mm/yyyy which I need to convert to DateTime object.uggest a simple routine which I can use inside a Loop which produce these Strings.
However It doesnt seem to affect the day of the object. My question is this, when subtracting hours from the object does it subtract it from the global date? I.e make "May 7, 2011 1:00:00 AM" into "May 6, 2011 6:00:00 PM" when subtracting 7 hours or does it just affect the hours of the object?
