I need to put the date and time in the status bar.In the first panel I have the version of the program and in the second I would like to show todays date in it.The properties page does not have an option to add date, I can add Icons and text but is there a way to add date and time?
I'm trying to make a simple program that keeps track of a list of phone directories. It offers the option of adding new names to the directory and deleting names already stored.I want the program to display a small unobtrusive message when a name is added or removed. For example, a label that shows "James Potter added to directory..."and then disappears after a few secondsGoing through th file mentions the timer but it seems like an awfully long winded way involving a new control and a new subroutine for every single timed event. I was wondering if there's an easier way, perhaps a single command like:
Private Sub ToolStripButton3_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles ToolStripButton3.Click Dim activeChild As Form = Me.ActiveMdiChild activeChild.Close() Try
[code].....
But condition activeChild Is Nothing is not working properly. And Status ToolStripButton stay in True value. How can I setting change status ToolStripButton after all MDI child is closed?
I have an application that requires data be entered, and after entering, a button is clicked to process that data. Clicking the button works just as it should--the data is processed properly. In constructing a test module, I provide a set of data values, followed by:
btnWhatever.PerformClick()
Nothing happens. I have used this syntax for years, and it has always worked flawlessly. I have triple checked everything else and isolated the problem to the failure of the PerformClick(). The PerformClick() is in a test subroutine that does nothing but fill textboxes and labels with default data, then calls the PerformClick() on the button to begin processing. Again, the button works fine, the data is entered as it should be, but the PerformClick() does not fire the click event.
I'm fooling around in my VB class trying to make a small stand-alone web browser. Most of the questions I find involve taking a user-input string and converting it to a URI. My problem is that I want to take the current URI data in my Web Browser object and convert it to a string that I can display in the text box. When I click the link, my navigation bar will display the URL of the page I move to, and it will update as I go to different pages. Now I'm attempting to do this by setting the textbox to the Browser's URL value everytime the browser navigates. But the textbox cannot accept URI objects, only strings.Does anyone know how to convert them or a more efficient manner of doing this update?
I have a datagridview with 3 columns 1-ID, 2-CategoriesName, and 3-Select
I want to make the status with label status that can be show to users the numbers of categories were selected by checkboxes (It's mean that count or sum the rows been checked by checkbox on each row) and this is the code i got from searching true or false because it did not work so please need helping from forum to steering me in the right direction.
Private Sub dataGridView1_CellClick(sender As Object, e As DataGridViewCellEventArgs) Dim dgv1 As New DataGridView()
I want to use a database table as a a queue...but the processing of these messages cannot be done from the database.I have a table that stores the requests i get from a .Net component. I now have to read the data from these tables and make http calls to 2 webservices. Based on the response received from the webservices, the data gets archived or deleted.I had a few specific questions:
1. How do i make sure that if i pick a record for processing and the http call fails I should be able to go on to the next record, and then come back to this record at the end of the run
2. Is there an alternative to using the database as a queue(like MSMQ etc.), which option is better
3. I want to maintain an audit trail of the record status. Is creating a trigger to log the changes before the edit the best way to do it?
I just read little bit about macro and was trying to create the one in .net I was able to do very small operations since I dont know much about vb.net and regular expressions.I want to create a properties and variable declaration for the below code. What will be the regular expression to parse this string. So that I can get all the components to create a property from this.
,<Status, tinyint,>
I am trying to create macro that can parse above string into
private byte _Status; prublic byte Status { get; set; }
Im attempting to make a Facebook app, but i cant seem to find the name to the status update box and the post button, if someone could help me that would be great. this is what i have so far.
i do have the name to the [CODE]WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementById("xhpc_message_text").SetAttribute("value", KryptonRichTextBox1.Text)[CODE] but it some reason wont work. im coding in visual studio.
Code: Public Class Form11 Private Sub KryptonButton1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles KryptonButton1.Click
Now for a succesful insertion i want to notify the user about a successful save operation.....i.e,i want to display a message "Successful Save Operation"to the user. How to do this using the Status Strip?
I've got the code to display the current browser status text in the status bar but i want it to display the name of my web browser aswell. Example: Dreamincode.net - (Name of Webbrowser)
He is my code for the displaying staus text. Private Sub webBrowser1_StatusTextChanged( _ ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) _ Handles webBrowser1.StatusTextChanged
So there's this accounting package at my client that spits out text-based reports with invalid dates, like February 31st or September 31st.The reports are formatted with spaces and mono-spaced fonts. The data that gets parsed out are fed into a more formal local SSRS report, and that's about all you need to know.
What I am interested in fixing is the situation where a date is invalid and can't be converted into a DateTime struct. The date format from the report is "MMM-dd-yy" (e.g. "Feb-30-10"). The date strings need to be fixed before being shown in the formal report. I've seen this done two ways in my time as a developer, and I want to come up with a cleverer way of doing it (if there isn't a built-in way I don't know about). The first bad method (I can't believe I'm even showing you!):
Dim month As Integer = <Parse out the month from the bad date string> Dim day As Integer = <Parse out the day from the bad date string> Dim year As Integer = <Parse out the year from the bad date string> Dim validDate As DateTime
I am using SSIS and I need to transform a date. How can I transform a date in String format (e.g. 14/09/1980) to the same but in date format in VB.NET?
I would like the datetime format to insert it into a SQL database.
I have a Date type, its part of a structure holding other times.
Structure WorldTimesType Dim Date1 as Date Dim Date2 as Date
[code]....
'Then in my sub, which is on a timer.tick event
WorldTimes.Date3.AddMinutes(5)
The problem is, it, simply doesnt work. No error, no warning, nothing. As far as the sub is concerned it works, but the Time remains unchanged, I've tried using the DateTime type, tried adding time span instead of specifil intervals, nothing works.
After having some trouble in my own code using String.Split and the Split(String(), Int32, StringSplitOptions) overload, I decided to look to the MSDN.I copied the entire VB.NET code example from this link: url...I placed it in a new class, and received the following errors (same errors as my own code example):[code]Why can my code not recogognize the string() parameter overloads to String.Split? Remember, i took the code from the MSDN link above, copied and pasted and it still did not work.I am counting on using the string() instead of char() overloads shown here: url...
Is there any way to get the date (from Today.Date/User input) to a whole number and then return it to a date string?Only way I have so far thought of is:[code]
I'm using date in the format dd-mm-yyyy and I need to convert a string inthis format to a date type.My string is "18-01-2010" but when I do the conversion using dim TargetDate as date=CDate(TgDstr).where TgDstr is "18-01-2010", the resutant TargetDate, as note in the debugger window, is #1/18/2010# rather than #18/1/2010# which I expected. What change in code should I made to get the desired result?
(P.s. I've checked the current culture with the following line of code:
Dim str As String = CultureInfo.CurrentCulture.Name and get the result 'zh-HK'... and the date-time format I find in the control panel is also in dd-mm-yy format)
say a user buys a 6 month subscription to my online app. Using c# or vb.net, How would I work out what the expiry date should be to be inserted into the database.
I am trying to pull the data by date in vb.net. It is not throwing the error nor giving any result. Whereas It shows the results in table adapter configuration wizard when I try through query builder. I am using date time picker in the form. But I have formatted the date in the database as date.
I am trying to copy the records from my WO table and trying to change the scheduled_date like. If I have already entered a work oder and scheduled it on 26-SEO-2011 when the next month comes it should give me message do you want to crate work oders when i press yes it should copy the those records which has current date and change it month e.g in our example 26-SEP-2011 to 26-OCT-2011 and save it but i am unable to perform this task and similer procedure will be for other saved records when their scheduled date come it should copy it and change the month and save.
This piece of code is on form load event Private Sub QueryWorkorder() Dim con As New OleDbConnection("Provider=MSDAORA.1;Data Source=(DESCRIPTION=" _ + "(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=196.111.116.205)(PORT=1521)))" _ + "(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=Dummy)));" _ + "User Id=PCHR;Password=PCHR;") [Code] .....
And I am calling it on form load event. And I am changing the date from control panel and then running the project it didn't populate the message do you want to create record what should I do?
I am debugging an application that I ported from Windows, to *nix, a little while ago. The app stores dates as doubles (using the OLE Date format). I need to be able to inspect the dates - as human readable strings. I cant find an online conversion tool, so I decided to roll my own.
I was originally going to write an OpenOffice function, but I think it would be more straightforward to use one of the .Net languages, to write a small console app that accepts the double as a parameter and prints the date string to the console.
I am relatively new to .Net (though I have dabbled with both C# and VB.Net in the past). Can anyone help with my main() function? - snippets in either VB.Net or C# will be equally useful.
I have a date, as a Date type and a time, as a String and I want to combine the two into a Date type. ie. #2/11/2011# & "13:55:27" = #2/11/2011 1:55:27 PM#. How can I do this?
