View 2 RepliesI am creating a VBA application using Excel 2007 and would like to make virtually all of the standard Office and Excel menus invisible to the user and present to the user only my custom menu controls. I have been successful in doing this for all objects on the Ribbon as well as those on the Microsoft Office Button Menu, with the exception of the "recently opened files list" box, that also has the "Excel Options" and "Exit Excel" buttons on it. Can anyone tell me the name of the object for this control so that I can make it invisible?
Here is the relevant snipit of XML code that is in my CustomUI.xml file:

the menu in the button is opened with click in the small down arrow, but NOT if click in the button image.

I am working on a project that is pretty much done, but I wanted to put the finishing touch on it.I have a shock wave flash object over most of my form, and I load shock wave files onto it so they are accessible from the main flash object. But one of the shock wave menus I have is pretty much just flat, and I was wondering how I can make it a little transparent like the windows 7 GUI so you can kind of see a blur of whats behind the GUI.
View 3 RepliesIf I have setup a simple form named Fmain, in this form I have created a menu strip, this menustrip has a item showing a new for called Frfxcom. In this Frfxcom form I placed a textbox and used its databinding property for connecting to a local database pointing to a certain column in the database named " ip". The database wizard started and inserted some code, at that moment the errors "type not defined" showed up. Here is the automatic generated code:
<Global.Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.DesignerGenerated()> _
Partial Class Frfxcom
Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form
'Form overrides dispose to clean up the component list.
<System.Diagnostics.DebuggerNonUserCode()> _

I use a simple context menu to navigate from one window to another in a mdi application.
The context menu is populated and refreshed every time, if the user closes a window or open a new.
I would like to add a close "X" button too to each context menu element.
How is it possible? I have a small "X" button gif. Can I use this?
I think, I should ovveride the onpaint event of the context menu and put this image on the right corner, right?
is it possible to have a drop down menu from a button, somewhat similar to windows right click on a file, except, click/double click a button. if you do answer, can you provide a sample code, let's say, option1 (on the drop down menu) get's text to change to bold, option 2 to italic, and so on..

View 6 RepliesIn my program I am trying to make a button that would add a shortcut to activate a running application by a process ID. In a form I have 2 text-boxes 1 for the name of the shortcut that would be shown in the tool-strip-menu-item. Then the other for the process name. Then when the user presses a button I would like the text of the text-box for the name to be added to a tool-strip-menu-item, then the other text-box used for the Process ID to be added to the fallowing code: (the tool-strip-menu-item is in another form)
Dim processID As Integer
processID = Shell("Process ID
", AppWinStyle.NormalFocus)
I am very much a beginner with VB. I want to create a simple menu or switchboard which will allow me to run one of several small exe files by clicking an appropriate button. The form and the buttons are OK, and I can get the exe files to run with code like:
Process.Start("C:Documents and Settings(myName)My DocumentsVisual Studio 2010ProjectsMathematicsProgram1.exe")
However I want the final application to be portable, i.e. not dependent on the long path name as above. My intention is that the final application and the exe files ie Program1.exe, Program2.exe, etc should all reside in the same directory so that the application can be run from a CD.
I created one ToolStripDropDownButton in vb.net. I will like to put methods for every drop down items and as well as the Button Menu.... how it possible

View 1 RepliesI need to create a menu bar (similar to VB6) for my ASP.NET application.
What I don't need is a standard navigation menu bar (plenty of those out there). I'm not redirecting to a different page. What i do need is a menubar that will behave similarly to a VB6 menu, or ASP.NET button control. I have to postback and execute some VB code (depending on what menu item the user selected).
Is it possible to add custom command in a shortcut (.lnk) menu (right button) through .net? How can i add the command and executed that command.?
View 4 Repliesok, i've been able to figure out that i can add a button to a menubar (like the file edit view, ones at the top of most programs) and so far i have figured out:
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
form1.MenuStrip1.Items.Add(TextBox1.Text)
[code]......
I making a program where the program has different codes for every item that I'm selling, so like 1 item might cost $700 and another item might cost $1000. Then I'm importing this to notepad.
View 2 RepliesI'm working on a Visual Basic application in Visual Studio 2010. The application was originally created in VB6, which had a dedicated menu button editor. Now I need to add new drop-down items to my button menus, but VS10 seems to have no facility for this. All attempts so far appear to lead me to tool strip support, which I do not want.

View 2 Replieshow to send e-mail?I don't know what's the code for send e-mail. Can anyone teach me how to?I have a button on the Menu Tool. I want when user presses that button, it will directly link to the Microsoft Office to send e-mail to me.Please teach me.By the way, I also want to know how to load a text file. View 18 RepliesSo I've got this context menu working out except that the event behind the actual selection of the menu item seems to fire multiple times. First time I click it, it fires once, then twice, then 3 times. So, in the example I just gave, for 3 clicks it would have fired a total of 6 times (1 + 2 + 3). Why is that?
Below is my code on how I'm creating the menu items. I stripped it down to the relevant pieces; I omitted things like .Tag, .Visible, and .Caption properties. I'm building this using .NET 3.5 and VS 2008.

I am wanting to display a popup menu when a use clicks the right mouse button on my ListView.I have created a ContextMenuStrip with the items I would like.
[code]...
The thing is, the menu is way up to the top left. How can I set it to be where the user presses the mouse.Also, how can I set it to pop up only when the user presses the right mouse button on the lstView.
[Code]....
I add a button to a form each time the user clicks a menu option as:
[Code]....
This draws a small blue line at the bottom of the button to show it is highlighted. Just like the mouseoverbackcolor property on a button except this will draw the line. It works fine until you slide the mouse very fast between the buttons. It is as if the mouseleave event doesnt always fire.
I would like to restrict what they see in the file upload dialog, which is set to "All Files" by default. I understand how to validate that they only uploaded a certain file type, that is not the question here. I would just like to know how to default the file type in the file selection dialog.
Is there any way to change this to "PNG only" or "*.png"?
This is using AsyncFileUpload in the ASP.NET AJAX Control Toolkit.
