I've been working on this project for two weeks now and I'm drained from all the hiccups I've come across. Now I've hit a brick wall.I'm making a "simple" order form in Visual Basic 2010 that calculates the amount due for an order and then from the total determines what the shipping will be. I've been able to accomplish the following tasks:accept customer data (name, address, city, state abbreviation, zipcode)calculate total with shipping costs (accurately, for the most part)clear the order form and exitBut the way I have it right now, a customer can only put in 1 order form.
Problem: I have to figure out a way to allow a customer to place an order form for multiple items. (I'll assume that a customer will not place an order for more than 20 items). So what would be the best way to go about saving the information for multiple items then calculating the cost at the end?If it's multiple form creation, how is that done? Is the keyword "Container" the way to go, and how
Snippet Code: Private Sub total_mouseleave(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles total.MouseLeave
I am making a server - multiple client windows form application using Visual Basic Express 2005.
I was wondering if there was a way that I could debug multiple instances of the client at the same time?Ashray Lavsi If my post answers your Question, don't forget to "Mark it as Answer"
I would like for my program to navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines and multiple url links inside of it. I know how to make the webbrowser1.navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines, however I want my webbrowser to navigate to each url every 1-1.5 seconds once button1 is clicked. Yes, my webbrowser1 will navigate to the specified urls via the textbox1.text (multilines) with a button click, but I need the webbrowser1 to navigate in a order sequence from top to bottom of Textbox1.text (multiplelines) every 1 second. Here is the current code that I have to navigate via multilined textbox1.text control in order sequence:
below code gives me an exception telling me that it is an invalid column name. It's taking the input string from "frmMain.txtBadge.Text" and thinking it's the column name. I havesearched for days without any clue.
I'am try to make multiple file deleter in visual basic so here is my code.
Public Class Form7 Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click OpenFileDialog1.ShowDialog()
[code]....
But my problem is that if add two or more files it just deletes the last one on the list box. How can i make it delete a the files on the list box?
trying to save the settings in a settings form but every time m setting the settings (when the form is running) then exiting it and then reopening itare the settings that i setted not there Ex : I open form2 by clicking on a button thought form1 and change the settings for example i uncheck a checkbox then do i close form2 and then open it again. And the settings should be saved so the unchecked checkbox should still be unchecked.BUT when i close form1 should the settings be unsaved and go back to normal :)
I am working to make a function that will update the back color of a text box based on multiple variables values. I can write the code to do the calculation, but I am not sure how to make the function realize which text box to update (as I will have about 30 different boxes). Below is the code that I have for each box so far, but I will have quite a few more, and would rather use a function to reduce the amount of code, and also make it cleaner as well.
If sngPreviousPrimaryPropertyTotal >= sngPrimaryPropertyTotalCost Then txtPreviousPrimaryPropertyTotal.BackColor = ColorProgramLightGreen Else txtPreviousPrimaryPropertyTotal.BackColor = ColorProgramLightRed End If [Code] .....
Or is there a way that I can tell the function that it's updating the text box that call the function in the first place? Say if txtBox1 has updated text and calls the function, then the function 'knows' to update txtBox1, but will update txtBox2 when it's called by txtBox2.
I'm looking at controlling properties of an array of buttons in VB 2008 (express). I have been looking at the sample code from a whitepaper at MS, and it kind of makes my head spin compared to what was done in VB6! (and yes I'm an amateur
Here is a wierd case - I am making a game in Visual Basic Express 2008 with several forms. Each windows form I've given a quit command that works well to end the game. (Me.Close) However if instead I click on the big X button that windows provides in the upper right hand corner - it does not look to truely stop the program.
I'm running this program in debug mode from the MS VBE editor, but when I click that X it tells me that program is still running even though all
The web browser control that comes with visual basic 2008 is out-dated and is very slow to load a lot of newer web pages. How do I go about updating it?
Also, is it possible to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox instead? Would I be able to use code like this in any of the newer browsers?:
My students did a tutorial in HTML Help Workshop to add Help files to a VB 2008 Windows application. They zipped the files and uploaded them to our class web site.
I downloaded them at home, unzipped, and tried to check, but every one shows Table of Contents or Index and cannot find the .htm documents for the topic. The same thing happened in my office. However, these projects work correctly in our classroom lab and do display the .htm files.
Does anyone know of a way have the PropertyGrid control display a NumericUpDown instead of a DropDown box or text box? One of the properties that I need to capture is an integer and I'd like the user to be able to spin up or down to choose a value instead of typing it in.
I have a Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition application that operates as a front end for iSeries V6r1. The application was developed on a windows 7 machine. Users load the application from a shared folder on a server. Currently, there are 2 Vista, 3 windows 7 and 4 XP users. All had no problem in loading application, all users except 3 of 4 XP users can run the application with no problems. However, 3 of the XP users receive the following error message when they perform any action that tries to connect to the iSeries:
System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
I've been asked by a local window cleaner to design a small utility that can display a grid of customer data, sort them, and then export it out as a formatted .txt or rtf file.
Iam developing a Windows application using Visual Basic 2008 with a SQL Server database. Throughout the program I give the user as many options as possible and have no problem with either the database or the windows forms. The program does not initially require a Login and I want toprovide the User with the opportunity to add a Login to the system. The default Login form is perfectly satisfactory.
The problem is that I can't figure out how to program the change sothat the Login from isopens the program rather then th form designated as the StartUp form. this forum I am able to prgrammatically change the form but I can't figure out how to make the requirement a permanent factor. I tried using a Constant, but if the User wants to change, you can't change the constant. Its an apparantly simple yes/no situation but if I set a varable to yes and then change it to no the next time the program runs, the change will be lost.
I am reading a temperature value from a transceiver into the serial port and I want this value to change the value of a label in my Visual Basic Form. This value changes every few seconds. I am using the code below:
Me.dataReceived.Text &= [text]
where dataReceived is the label I am using and [text] is the data I am reading from the serial port. This results in the data being displayed but instead of overwriting the label, it writes the value after each other. (The data is appended). I tried to remove the & before the = but this did not work as nothing showed up.?The code I am using is the following:
'To receive data into the text field Private Sub SerialPort1_DataReceived(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.IO.Ports.SerialDataReceivedEventArgs) Handles SerialPort1.DataReceived
I'm new to visual basic & have learned many new things in such a short period of time from being on the MSDN forums. I have learned particularly in the subject of automating web browsing control using the getattributes etc., but I have tried everything that I have seen in the forums to auto click the "Settings" link in a created gmail account and then have the browser automate the "Forwarding" to another gmail address. I haven't found a solution anywhere to accomplish this.
So here is an account to try out in which this should only take a few mins to a veteran coder:
Trying to use icons on my visual basic form but don't know how to place the icon and label so that they are linked and when the are clicked they get highlighted and stuff like the basic desktop icons.
I was wondering how to get a certain data from a MS database and display in a label. Example(Database entries)
[Code]....
The name will be displayed in the label depending on the year and number typed in two text boxes. So if typed 2009 and 1001, the label should display name2. I don't have any background on SQL. The only thing I did for now is that I added the database in the data sources and added a TableAdapter.
All 3 labels are named the same. The one i am most interested in is a progress % counter (1%, 2%, 3%, etc..)How can i get the value (using a timer of course) from that label without knowing the caption of it at any given time?
If I build a Windows Forms project in Visual Studio 2008, and start it with a Sub Main instead of a form, and for the time being, don't show any forms, is it considered a Console application? Will console.writeline work?
