Bind Data From Text Field On Form To Database Table?
Apr 24, 2011I am trying to bind data from a text box on my form to a field in my database table. First of all I have created a DataSet, BindingSource and Table Adapter in the forms Design view, but I am having from there. Under the properties of each text box I have set the DataBindings (Text) to the field in the table under the forms instance and DataSet rather than the Projects Data Sources. I am very rusty at Visual Studio 2005 and that is all I have to work with.

When a new user enters his user name & password, I want to add these on a data table that has two columns: User, Pass. Data table information: Data Source = Login.accdb, Data table = LoginTable, Connection = LoginCn. I use visual basic 2010. So how do I do this?

Listbox In Form That Gets Its Values From A Data Table By Data Binding
Jul 31, 2010I have a listbox in my form that gets its values from a data table by data binding. My question is, when the data (row) is loaded it also selects the first line automatically. I do not want this because I want the listbox to select an item only when the user clicks on it. Otherwise, the iteme should ony be listed. Is there a way to manage this?

Mar 27, 2008I have a simple windows form that i would like to send the values of a few textboxes and comboboxes to an rdlc report after saving them (I have VS 2005 standard, so no crystal reports) - it's as follows:
-1 form
-3 textboxes - textbox1, textbox2, textbox3
-1 label - label1
-1 combobox - combobox1
-5 buttons - button1, button2, button3, button4, button 5
the textboxes are labeled length, width, height the combobox is labled unit of measure and contains two options - inches or centimetres the label has text of "your total cubic inches/centimetres is:" - followed by the unit of measure selected.the buttons are labeled save, calculate, print, print preview, and exit.Having said all of the above, the save, calculate and exit button code is easy enough and is good to go - it's print and print preview i'm stuck on the solution i'm after is to take those values and send them to an rdlc report that immediately prints (calls up the default printer dialogue) without preview or anything when the print button is clicked and also have a print preview function as well for when of course the print preview button is clicked.The report has already been created with the titles mentioned above..
Set Different Text Colors In Data Table?
Mar 12, 2012I am using vb.net in my project. I have a datagridview bounded to a datatable m_table which has a column called Price_Change with decimal values. I want to display text in datagridview in green if price change>0 and red otherwise. I cannot simply use the following formatting because the bounded data table m_table is constructed in my code, not directly through data base.

Text Box Not Displaying Data From Table?
Dec 13, 2010I have a textbox which is part of my program and when I input data to the text box it fills the database with the data the way it is supposed to. I navigate through the data and the textbox show all the data from all the records I input. The problem is when I close the program and reopen it the textbox is empty for the first record. When I run a report or look at the access data base the data is there. If i navigate and go to the second record it shows the data for second and all the others the way it supposed to in the textbox.

May 15, 2011I was using 2 forms, the first one has general data capture and the second one is a calendar form. On Form1 I have mulitple windows controls. A Textb ox and beside a Calendar button. When I click on a Calendar Command button, it should open calendar form and once the user selects the date, the date should be placed in the text box on the form1. Identical to this on Form1 I need multiple textboxes that needs date to be captured.I cannot use a global variable for this as I need to validate mulitple text boxes. To explain this, I have a Transaction Date and Date Received. I need to validate whether Transaction date is prior Date Received or not? I dont want to use several global variables b'coz I might need multiple validations as above. Please help me on this.

Write In Worker Thread In A Data Table And Rich Text Box in Main Thread
Mar 4, 2009I'm creating a Client Server application which involves theServer running some scripts in clients and getting back results in an automated way. In Server, other than Main thread, i have 2 worker threads, a) one monitoring response from clients and b) the other scheduling next available job to respective client which executes that job. The issue here is ,I want these worker threads to write the status of their work in the UI(which comes under Main Thread). Also i need to write things in worker thread in a Data table and Rich Text Box in Main thread. But, I can't do so, since it has been blocked to access one thread's function or property directly from others. Is there any work around to do this?

I have edited the column headers and set the column names to the same values as my table names yet the data is not showing in form load I have set datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False I know the data is there if I delete datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False then the data is shown with the default headings?

Nov 12, 2011I use a simple master-detail form using Visual basic 2005 express edition and ms sql server 2005 express edition, as well.
The master table is dept (deptno int, dname nvarchar(50)) .
The deail table is emp (empno int, deptno int, ename nvarchar(50)).
The primary key for the dept table is deptno and for the emp table is empno.
There is also a foreign key (deptno on emp table).
I created a new project, connected to a db (called test.mdf) and created a data source consisting the two of the above reffered tables.
I dragged and dropped these tables on the form and i noticed the following:
1)When the form opens... the system queries the database and displays the data on each block on the form.
2)I insert and/or update a record on the master table (dept) and everything goes well...
3)I try to insert and/or update a record on the detail table (emp) and nothing is changed on the detail table - without any error.
4)When i try to insert and/or update a record on the detail table (emp) which violates the primary key constraint or foreign key the system complaints...(as expected).
