This Code results in copying the Image correctly but the original image is now 0kb
The object is to load an image into a picturebox, then save a new copy of the image in a different location, but with the height and width of the image box not the original file's height and width but I can't figure it out. I've got the loading and saving working no problem but getting it to adopt the new size is stumping me, it just keeps saving with the original file's size properties

I have an application which first load an 1200*800 image into an 600*400 picturebox. When i crop the whole image in picturebox and save it, the size will be 600*400. How can i make it save in 1200*800?
View 6 RepliesI have a image with a transparent background. I clone it, rotate it, and save it in a picture box. Works fine (in that I can see the original object overlaid on the background image below it). However, the original unrotated image is also superimposed on the .image layer *with* the rotated one. Try as I can, I can't stop it from appearing.
Curiously enough, if I change the image to non-transparent (a .bmp instead of a .gif, for example), I don't have the problem. Of course, I also can't see the background {:<(

I currently have a picture box and it has a MouseHover event. When the picture box is hovered the picture will change images. But when it is not being hovered upon I need the picture to switch back to the original image. Is there anyway to do this.

I have an app I created in Vb2010 (my 3rd VbApp) it is a file converter which works but all it does after convert is... I have a converted file but no file name plus it converts within its own directory as opposed to convert in dir where original file location.
So any clues as to how I always use file to converts name as defa and where the converted file will reside same dir as original file?

I have created a BitArray which is 11 bits long.I want to convert the BitArray so I can save the bits to a SQL server database field as a binary [varbinary(50)] so I can retrieve it at a later date and convert it back to a BitArray.Using examples on MSDN I have cobbled together the code I think I need.

I'm populating a Repeater with a PagedDataSource and after I populate that Repeater, I want to perform some other operations on the subset of data that makes up the page I'm sending to the Repeater (my CurrentPage Index, PageSize=10). So my question is how to get at those 10 records?
From reviewing MSDN, it looks like I should be able to use PagedDataSource.CopyTo to copy that to a System.Array, but I seem to be getting "Index was outside the bounds of the array." (I'm not sure how I need to be setting the bounds of the array from the PagedDataSource.)
Alternatively, I'd be happy if I could get those records into a SqlDataReader or any other way to read them and do more with them other than just displaying in my Repeater (again, looking for the records from that page that I set as the DataSource on my Repeater) Or, am I going about this the wrong way and is there a way to pull these back out of the Repeater?
i used to r-click on file > property > tab version and see the original file name
but now i 1 2 using vb.net to get this name.
if I have an image in the dictionary that is pulled in from the RESX file..... my code replaces some if a name match occurs. imgDct(dKey) = Image.FromFile(aFi.FullName) so, now the dictionary has a file pulled in. it seems that this LOCKS the original file? so i cant edit it.. and replace it is there a way i can pull the image in without "Locking" the original?

I've got two programs, one is the main and the other is the updater. So far iv'e got it so that the main program checks for an update by comparing its version number with the latest one that's stored as a text file on the server. If there's a newer one, the update program is started and the main one closed. The update program will then use a web browser component to navigate to the download link and download the new version. The only problem I'm having at the moment is, How can I get the new downloaded version to replace the current one in Program Files? and will this cause permission problems?
View 10 RepliesSo i am converting a metafile (EMF to be exact) to a jpeg or gif (doesn't matter as long as it's compatible with browsers) and when I do the conversion, all of the transparent pixels turn black. I have no idea how to do this in GDI+ but here is the method I am using to save the file:

However I am getting an error saying that the file already exists in the save location even though the files are saving to a totally different folder...

I am currently working on file carving techniques and found that outlook has to be original and have its own files in a file (file system) going on. You guessed it the wonderful PST file. right direction on opening PST files without outlook if possible.

I have a form that allows users to select file and then it reads the contents, parses the data and then executes a sql insert statement to add it to a database. What I am having issues with is showing real-time results. Currently, I have the import operation take place on the import form within the OnLoad event. The problem with this is it only shows the final results instead of the results real-time. Is there anyway to do this without creating a seperate thread and delegates?

View 6 RepliesI have to write a program that allows a user to input DVD info such as DVD Name, Year produced, Running Time, and Rating. The user then clicks a menu item "New" to save that info to a file. Then the next time the user inputs new DVD info it has to append the new data to the same file. (I got this far and everything is working writing and appending data)Next the year has to be able to search by DVD Video name and it has to print the info in the text boxes on the form, if not found then a messagebox should say not found. When I use the sub procedure that I have created to search the record it always comes back as record not found although the record in in the file.

I am currently attempting to write a program that will take a SQL query saved as a .sql or .txt and execute it against a specified database, and output the results to file. I have seen some sample code of executing a SQL query line by line,
and writing individual results to file.
The query that needs to be run is only reading information from multiple tables, but is pretty lengthy to do line by line. Is it possible to execute or read the whole query from the .sql file, or a text file, and run it against a specified database, and
have the results of the query output to file in vb.net?
