I'm trying to get thee previous page visited in ASP.NET using VB.NET using the following code:
Partial Class _Default Inherits Page
Protected Sub Page_Load(sender As Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
Dim previousPage As String = Page.Request.UrlReferrer.ToString
If (Request.UrlReferrer <> Nothing) Then
[code].....
I get this error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at:
Dim previousPage As String = Page.Request.UrlReferrer.ToString
What I want to do is get the previous page visited so I can get a session variable.
I have a gridView in ConsumerList page. When Edit button is clicked (in each row), it is navigated to a EditConsumer page. In the EditConsumer page, I need to get the values of the selected row using Page.PreviousPage.[code...
when the form loads, there is a table and i use code to set the row count to a variable from a previous page. this works fine. the problem i am having is that i cant get the row height sizes to be evenly spaced, there is 1 huge row then heaps of tiny ones.
i am trying to retain the value of a variable from a previous page. i believe this is the C# way to do this, but i would like the vb.net way can someone please help:
On my current project I want to deny going back once my customers hit submit button and redirected to the final page. How can I deny from going back to previous page or some mechanism to expire the page if the back button is clicked. I tried this code and it didn't work.
I have a need for a button to take the user back to their previous page.Because of how this page is accessed, the only way to do this is with javascript using history.back()
This part works perfectly apart from the fact when a user goes to click a button on the page they have gone to back to, I get the error that Request.QueryString is not supported in this context.I'm guessing the Request object is lost when javascript is directing the user to the previous page.I cannot use Request.UrlReffer either because the the nature of the back button. (it causes a loop at times).
I am using web browser control in one of my forms for displaying html files (local files). Before I load the next file I want to clear the webbrowser control of the previous page. I am trying the following method which I found while searching the net.
private Sub ClearWebBrowser(ByVal wb As WebBrowser) Dim tempDoc As IHTMLDocument2 = CType(wb.Document.DomDocument, IHTMLDocument2) tempDoc.write("") tempDoc.close() End Sub
I have added the reference for mshtml namespace in com tab. When trying to run the program, error is thrown like "Type 'IHTMLDocument2' is not defined. (BC30002)".
I have a Web application (Help Desk Ticket System) with an inbox to monitor incoming requests and made some filter buttons that help the user arrange the requests based on requester name, creation date, etc.
Every filter will simply call the same page but will add some code to the query string. Example, if the user presses a button labeled [Sort by Date] here is the code behind for that button:
[Code]...
But I know that Response.Redirect does not accept javascript, and I don't want to split the code between Code Behind file, and ASPX file (adding OnClientClick attribute) because I will need to perform both VB instructions and also redirecting the user.
I am trying to check the title of a Previous Page to see if it matches the page title "JobDetails". If it does not then some code (MyCode) runs. The following code is failing to identify the title correctly even when the previous page title = "JobDetails".
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim objPage As Page = Page.PreviousPage Dim sTitle As String = ""
I am using an image button and on click of it i want to go to visited page.Now i am using - Response.Redirect(Request.UrlReferrer.ToString()),It is going to previous page, but when i am in a page of some user details where the link is looks like - users.aspx?userid=25 and i visit some other page and click back(image button) i want to see the same userdetail page. How to track that.
I have a search page with a couple of pulldowns. Dependig on the values of them I show a grid matching the searched criteria, basically a table with links the user can navigate to. My problem comes when the user wants to navigate back. At the moment I have a "Back" button which simply redirects the user to the initial search page. I think it would be a good improvement to have the values of the pulldowns filled in with the values the user selected, this way when he presses the "Back" button he would not have to restart the whole search process again.
I am trying to set a flag when a collection is modified - the logical place to do that seemed to be in the setter method. The problem is when I use this code
I have a series of product pages and all I'd like to do is store the last 5 products viewed in a cookie so it can be displayed as a site-history. The problem I have isn't adding the five initial items to the cookie, its when they view 6, 7 or 10 items.Currently I have this flawed logic (i have replaced the cookie name (xxx) for brevity);
Dim i As Integer = 0 Dim productcount As Integer = 0 If HttpContext.Current.Request.Cookies("xxx") Is Nothing Then Dim gingernuts As New HttpCookie("xxx")
I've written an VB application and have successfuly got it into the form of a web page using Visual Web Developer (VWD).The application has a link which opens up another web page in a new window. I would like it that code triggered by a Button on this application will only run if the web page has been opened via this link. In VB it was easy as clicking a Button object made code run (which opened up the WebBrowser within the application) and I could therefore include a line of code such as eg. trigger=1 (and then later I could use "if trigger=1 then"). But in VWD Toolbox objects "Link" and "Button Link" take you directly to the web page (ie they are hyperlinks), without giving me the opportunity to include my "trigger=1" line.
We've been set a task to build a really basic web browser with one advanced function. I've done the web browser with the basic functionality. The advanced feature is a "most visited site" feature. I need to create some kind of listbox, that keeps track of all the websites visited (when the go button is pressed) and arranges them in the most popular order (i.e. the one that has been clicked the most). Furthermore, it states that substrings should be used so that for example if you go to [URL] and go to [URL] that counts as 1 hit. I'm sure its something to do with arrays, but he did say you will need to use multiple procedures/strings/functions....
how can I put this idea in code to say: if TheLastFormVisitedIsFormCustomers then
CurrentForm.myTextBox.Focus End If
In simple english. How can I retrieve the name of the last form visited in code and give focus to a textbox control depending on the last form visisted.
I'm currently making a Web Browser, and I was wondering how I can save History after I close the program/form and clicking on the site I visited last and navigate to the link with a single click?
I wrote a page Page method in my aspx page. in web service method I need to call FindControl method return textbox and get text box value. But my findControl will take MasterPage object to iterate.
see my code
<script type = "text/javascript"> function ShowCurrentDateTime() { $.ajax({
[Code]....
How to pass Master Page object or Page to Page method?. So I can use in Sared method.
Is there any way I can access Textbox value directly in Page method? I need access couple of controls in Page Method.
HOW TO RUN THE JAVASCRIPT FUNCTION ON PAGE ONLOAD EVENT IN CONTENT PAGE OF MASTER PAGE.? means i have masterpage and the content page of master page namely default.aspx in vb.net.i wanna run javascript function in Default.aspx and i have called the function body onload in master page.when i run my website it shows the error "" Microsoft JScript Runtime Error : Object Expected ""
I have a master page which contains everything that inherits it within a form. A page inheriting from it needs to run some javascript to act on a text field on a page. However, I can't seem to reference that text field through the javascript, since the form begins on the master page. The following line will come up bogus: document.form1.txtFindUser.value = blah.responseText; This is because form1 is defined on the master page, while txtFindUser is on the current page.
