Print Dialog Does Not Show Up In Crystal Report Viewer On 64 Bit Machine
Mar 25, 2010I have a client, who is running Windows 2008 Server 64 bit. He is running our software, it has a built in crystal report viewer functionality. The print dialogue just wouldn't work no matter what. It worked on our 32 bit box and we verified it. I verified it on our 64 bit box, and the print dialogue didn't open either. I did some research online. And one suggestion is to set m_printDlg.UseEXDialog = True. I tried that, but that did not work either...

VS 2008 Extracting Information From Websites
Aug 16, 2009I'm currently using a webbrowser control to extract information from multiple websites. At any given time, my application could be searching through 1-80 different webpages across 1-4 different websites. On my computer, it runs pretty quick. I could go through all 80 sites in just a few minutes. But when on another machine with fewer resouces, it runs awfully slow. Taking up to 15 minutes. Which kind of beats the purpose, but not entirely, of my application.
I'll begin by explaining my methods, and go from there. When utilizing the Webbrowser control, I use While statements and Application.DoEvents, instead of the Webbrowser controls's DocumentCompleted event. I'm wondering if this is one thing that could be slowing down the process. Though I'm not sure why it would be. Also, would utilizing separate threads help with this? I can't imagine it would boost performance. But I'm not entirely sure. I think it bogs down because the application uses so much memory when running. On idle, the application uses about 9.5k memory. When running, I've seen it go as high as 110k.

Then i went to a website such as vtunnel.com and was able to view the blocked website through it. So to still block it I need to add [url]... to the host site as well as any others?

VS 2008 Unblocking Websites On A Bloxx Server?
Mar 1, 2010I have the following code which sets internet explorers proxy settings to what ever i want and if i set it to use a proxy ip and port i get a 'Page can not be displayed' error. If i reset it back to the bloxx server again which is: http://gc-bloxx:8080 Then it works fine. What i am asking is, can i get the app to connect through 'http://gc-bloxx:8080' and then set the proxy ip and port so the app can connect to the internet and then unblock the websites?

Sep 7, 2009I'm using Visual Studio 2008 on an XP machine and am trying to develop a web app that can interact with websites and carry out automatic tasks.One problem I have is trying to recreate the web requests for automatic interaction.
For example:I use a webBrowser control to allow me to surf a page manually. Then, once I am at a specific location, I'd like the automatic interaction to take over.Part of the website requires a log-in and exchanges cookie data.When I try to read the cookie info from the webbrowser control to build the subsequent automatic requests, the cookie content is incomplete.Upon further investigation, it appears that the site sets one of the cookies to "http only". This stops the value being visible to the webbrowser control.Is there another control or method I could use to retrieve this info?

Jul 5, 2009I've written an VB application and have successfuly got it into the form of a web page using Visual Web Developer (VWD).The application has a link which opens up another web page in a new window. I would like it that code triggered by a Button on this application will only run if the web page has been opened via this link. In VB it was easy as clicking a Button object made code run (which opened up the WebBrowser within the application) and I could therefore include a line of code such as eg. trigger=1 (and then later I could use "if trigger=1 then"). But in VWD Toolbox objects "Link" and "Button Link" take you directly to the web page (ie they are hyperlinks), without giving me the opportunity to include my "trigger=1" line.

The advanced feature is a "most visited site" feature. I need to create some kind of listbox, that keeps track of all the websites visited (when the go button is pressed) and arranges them in the most popular order (i.e. the one that has been clicked the most). Furthermore, it states that substrings should be used so that for example if you go to [URL] and go to [URL] that counts as 1 hit. I'm sure its something to do with arrays, but he did say you will need to use multiple procedures/strings/functions....
