I have a database with table "Customer" that will be the datasource for my form controls. My form has a combobox and various textboxes that need to change based on the selectedvalue in the combobox, cboCustNo. Firstly, I'm try to get the combobox to populate with the customer names on the table but have the value member of the combobox set to their customer numbers (just for ease of indexing). Based on the user's selection I'm trying to have various textboxes show the corresponding data (Address, City, Balance, etc.). The code I have so far is below:
Dim cnnDB As New Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection Dim cmdSelect As New OleDb.OleDbCommand Dim rdCustomer As OleDb.OleDbDataReader Dim CustTable As New DataTable
I am developing a Windows application in Visual Studio 2005, V2.0 using VB.NET.I am coding part of an Emergency Response Information System. On my form, I have two combo boxes (cboBaseStationID and cboPriority). I am trying to populate the datagrid with records from my database based on what is selected in both comboboxes. For the first combobox, the user selects a name so the datagrid must only show records with that name. For the second combobox, this is a little more complicated. There are four emergency priorities in the combobox that the user can choose - 1, 2, 3, 4. In the database, there are different response teams (to be dispatched to these emergencies) and each response team has a grade of either 1, 2 or 3. So a grade 1 team can respond to emergency priorities of 1 and 2.A grade 2 team can respond to emergency priorities of 1, 2 and 3.A grade 3 team can respond to emergency priorities of 1, 2, 3 and 4.
So basically, if the user selects emergency priority of '4', then only grade 3 teams can be displayed. I am using two different tables in the datagrid. The datagrid is populating at the moment, but not based on anything that is selected in the comboboxes. It just displays a lot of duplicates of all the records in the tables. Here is my code so far (this code is on the search button click - I have already loaded items into the comboboxes on the form's load event):
Dim sqlConn As New OleDb.OleDbConnection Dim sqlCmd As New OleDb.OleDbCommand Dim sqlReader As OleDb.OleDbDataReader
I have got a database with a bunch of tables in it. So far, i can query that database and get the names of all the tables into a listbox. this is sweet.
What i need to do now is to enable the user to click on a table name thats listed in the listbox (which were put there using the
GetOleDbSchemaTable method)
and when they do, i need to populate the Datagridview with the relevant data thats sitting in the table that is listed in the listbox.
I've tried a couple things to get the tables themselves to populate the DGV(which kind of works now), but not the Data thats sitting in the individual table.
how to go about getting data populated from a data grid view to an array of structures? I have a data grid view with 6 fields and 10 records that match elements in my array. I declared a list of songs based off of my structure Song.
I'm trying to populate a datagrid control using a SQL Query. The following code does NOT error out, but the datagrid doesn't populate with anything either when run on the emulator. What am I missing?
Dim myCommand = New SqlDataAdapter("select top 10 * from something", "Data Source=somedatasource;Initial Catalog=catalog1;User Id=usr;Password=pwd;") Dim ds As Data.DataSet = New Data.DataSet
Is it possible to define a datagrid and chart name as variable? I'm planning to put the result into the predefined datagridview inside FOR and NEXT loop. I've been trying but getting different sorts of errors..
I have a chart in Excel that I'd like to use a subtitle on. There is no SubTitle Property on the chart object, so I looked in the Excel User interface and found that you can only create a sub-title by using a text box. The text box looks like its associated with the chart, not the worksheet, so how would I access that text box from code?
I can't figure out how to plot anything on this chart...finally got it to actually display a pie chart, now I'm trying to somehow bind a data source to it and from there, select the series data..I have added the database to the project as a data source but I don't know how to bind it to the pie chart. some other info: this db has 100's of tables and the program I'm working on is going to be a "status monitor" of sorts that will contain about 6-8 different types of charts all plotting different info for me in chart form.I want to bind this one data source to all the charts and just have them display different information (based on the sql query perhaps)
[code]Whenever my GridView populates, if there is no value to return from my _dataSet for a field, my GridView stops populating after that. Shouldn't it skip that and continue populating the rest of the grid? It seems the GridView won't accept an empty/null value. is?
My windows application uses a webservice (sql server backend) and now I'm trying to create a new form that has a datagridview control on it and I'm uncertain how to set it's datasource. I'm using visual studio 2005 and I have little experience using the datagridview control. In my webservice, I started the code that will be the datasource - should i be returning a dataset? I know that this code isn't correct, but I'm not sure what it needs:
<WebMethod()> _ Public Function SetMyDataSource() As DataSet Using DBConn As SqlConnection = New SqlConnection(sConnectionString) SetMyDataSource= Nothing
I have a tab control in my form and inside it I put a listview. What I wanted to do is populate the listview everytime I clicked on each tab. But I don't know how to do it.
Here is the bit of my code
Public Class Form2 Private Sub PopulateRecords() Dim TSR As New ADODB.Recordset Dim STRSQL As String = ""
I am having trouble with .net again. I have a series of 10 text boxes. I want to be able to populate them from an array and read there values into another array. In vb6 I would create a text box array with 10 text boxes / indices. I could then populate them by txtbox(i).text = arrVal(i) and to reference them arrVal(i) = txtbox(i). I am stumped I can create 10 text boxes on a form if I have to, but I want them somehow tied to each other as they were in vb6.
I have on my form two datagridviews that correspond to the same table. They are both databound. They have been created automatically through dragging them from the datasources windows. One is datagridview and the other datagridview1. When ever I navigate through a datagrid the corresponding row on the other grid changes as well. I do not want this. Also I want to be able to fill and use each datagrid indepentent from each other. To fill a datagridview on load I use this code
Me.AllServicesTableAdapter.workstation(Me.Database2DataSet.AllServices)This code does not let me choose which datagrid to fill.
How use MS chart control with VS 2010?What name reference link I need add to project for use MS chart.I don't see MS chart control in "Toolbox" in VS 2010, what I need do for I will see MS chart control in "Toolbox".If any body can send me link to simple sample "use MS chart in VS 2010".
I can draw a graph with MS Chart Control 6.0 in VB.net. But I can not save it.I write the code:
AxMSchart1.copy() 'to copy the chart into clipboard
But whenever I use one of the flowwing commands: clipboard.GetData, Clipboard.GetDataObject,...I get the error: Exception of type 'System.ExecutionEngineException' was thrown?how to save the graph?
I've just started checking out Chart controls for VS .NET. I've downloaded and installed MS Chart Controls for .NET Framework 3.5 and ZedGraph.I'm trying to decide which would be my best choice. In VB6 I used RMCharts and liked it alot.
ZedGraph, like VS2005, is made to work with .NET Framework 2.0 and seems user friendly. Alot of my clients are still using XP machines without .Net Framework 3.5.
I have a GRIDVIEW with columns, one of which contains a CSV of possible values for the dropdown that must appear on each row.
Private Sub GridViewParameters_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs) Handles GridViewParameters.RowDataBound If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.DataRow Then[code].....
Depending on whether the type of control is a dropdown, textbox, or check box (feined in the table) it hides or shows the relevant control type. If it is a dropdown it needs to get its values from a CSV in a corresponding column. I have a SP that returns a these in table form if passed the id of the relevant row.How do I get that is from the gridview to pass to the drop down and load it correctly?
I know the code to find the input boxes in question.. basically the html is like so HTML <input type="text" name="username" class="inputbox"> i know enough to use WebBrowser1.Document.Forms.GetElementsByName("username") to find the text box...but I need to know how to send the contents of say TextBox1.text to the form on the web page...i can't figure it out for crap...I just assume give up and use sendkeys to tab to the textbox even thought its 80% unreliable....
