Populating A Datagrid View With Tables?

I have got a database with a bunch of tables in it. So far, i can query that database and get the names of all the tables into a listbox. this is sweet.
What i need to do now is to enable the user to click on a table name thats listed in the listbox (which were put there using the
GetOleDbSchemaTable method)
and when they do, i need to populate the Datagridview with the relevant data thats sitting in the table that is listed in the listbox.
I've tried a couple things to get the tables themselves to populate the DGV(which kind of works now), but not the Data thats sitting in the individual table.

In a nut shell what I am trying to do is, pull one or more tables into a datagrid view. I am having one heck of a time returning multiple datasets. I can eleect all indavidually, but when I try to select more than one, I only get the last "table" in the list. If I could establish a ODBC connection that would be better, but this will have to work for now with some canned queries I have.

I'm trying to populate an Access Data Table (5 columns) with a Visual Studio front end, but I'm not clear on how to pass the data through the parameters. I have created a connection, a data adapter, and a data set in the project by dragging them onto the form. I know the connection works because I can see my Access database using the Server Explorer. I have an INSERT command in the data adapter and the parameters are represented in this command with question marks. See my insert command below INSERT INTO tbl_ConstraintLogs (ConstrinatChangeReason, ConstraintTagName, ConstraintValueBefore, ConstraintValueAfter, onstraintTimeChange) VALUES The values that I want to pass to the database are coming from text boxes or they are program generated. For example: If I have a variable in my program called "AbcValue", how do I get the value of this variable into the database as the first parameter. I was trying to use the "Fill" command, but I'm at a loss here.

I have a database that has tables in it. Tables can be added to this databse programatically as well as the data that needs to be in those tables.I need to be able to query that database to get what tables are in it, place the names of those tables into a listbox so that when a user clicks on the name of the table, It will update a DataGridview with the data that is in that table in the database.I assume that you would need to build a dataset at runtime based off of what tables are in the DB, but i have no idea how to do this.

I am populating a collection from some tables in the database which serves as a look-up from controls (combobox) I am using but what I want is rather than hitting the database each time can I just cache the collection and get the collection from the cache? The look-up table may or may not change all the time so I would want to have a way to validate if the cached collection is still valid or not.

I dont know how to dynamically populate a dataset based off the tables in an existing database.Once I can get the dataset to populate, I can then move forward with the next step of the project.

What I am trying to do basically is open an access query in a datagrid view and then be able to make changes to the datagrid and then save it back to the database.When I try to save:
Me.BindingSource.EndEdit()
Me.TableAdapter.Update(DataSet)
It says that update is not a member of the tableadapter... Why is that?

I have a chart control and datagrid in the same page.
I want in a single button click, to populate them both using a datareader.

The problem is that only one of them is populated (the first databind in the code) and the other databind isn't working.

I have an ODBC connection to a database, I have 2 tables items, prices. both tables are related via a sequence field. I need a way to load the 2 tables into a datagrid, update fields and then save the changes.items-- itm_seq-- nameprices-- price_seq-- itm_seq-- price_1-- price_2Datagrid needs to show the data as suchname / price_1 / price_2Site updates some cells of the data, hits update.
The records are then written back to the 2 tables accordingly based on the sequence number.. I tried a view that extracts the data and then allows updating, but the datatableadapter will not allow an update statement to be processed against a view.

I would like to have a datagridview sourced from multiple db tables.I understand that the datagridview relies on the creation of a datatable and its relations to the separate db tables I want to view.

When I update a record at table [Product] with the integer that stands for [Supplier Name] from joined table [Suppliers], this does not appear in my datagridview. Instead, I have to reload the table to dataset to make it visible. What about datarelation? Is it better that loading a joined table over the dataset? Note that I have never dealed with datarelations before.. How can I make a datagrid column to show "Supplier Name" instead of recordID that represents this supplier?

I am trying to update a datagrid joining two tables with a bindingsource. I keep getting the following error: "dynamic sql generation is not supported against multiple base tables." Any ideas on how to fix the problem? Also, I realize that commandbuilder does not work for more than one table.

There is a "how do I video" on how to properly control updates, inserts and deletes in multi-user applications on forms that edit master-detail related data. [URL] Massi worked through the process using Order (OrderID is PK) as the master table and Order Detail (OrderDetaiID is PK) as a related table in dataGridView. The dataGridView automatically generate orderDetailID whenever the mouse enters in a new row. I am doing a similar form, but placing order form and orderDetail form in two separate tabs in a tabcontrol, and also using Details view for both tables. When I click "new" button in BindingNavigator, the orderID is automatically generated. If I use dataGridView for my orderDetail tab, then the orderDetailID is automatically generated when the mouse enters. This allow me to insert/update tables correctly. However I need the Details View for my orderDetail form too. How do I get a orderDetailID automatically generated when user insert a new order and have the mouse click on OrderDtail tab?

I do no know how to go about doing this. I have a view in the db. I have gatheredall the data in that view. Now when clicks a button, i want to transfer half column data in the view to header_table and the other half into the lines_table. Also once it is transgered, I want to display it in a grid view. This time all the fields from header_table and all from lines_lines. Can someone guide me how will I do that by an example of code that is not very complecated and does what I want to do?

Ok Im needing this to go through each row in the datagrid view and it does that fine and it sends an email if the time in the row matches time now but if it doesnt I get an:
