Asp.net - Send SOAP Request From A Specific IP Address
Dec 21, 2011I have a system with multiple IP address. But I'm allowed to initiate SOAP Request only from one IP address. How do I obtain that in VB.NET.

View 17 RepliesI need to handle a soap request and send a response in a single string. My response is going well but I can not see a request string in my log file thought protocol analyzer can see it properly.
View 2 RepliesIm trying to send data from a Windows Form to an aspx page and send back a response. Im running around in circles trying to make this work. The data im trying to send is 4 strings. So fare I have this in my code, using the build-in webclient in visual studio 2010, in the windows form sending to the aspx

I know how to send a SOAP request using the web reference, but I'd like to know how to programmatically create a SOAP request using the WSDL. I'm looking for something that would make this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
- <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">[code].....
I have to query once an hour to a remote web server to recieve data. However the remote web site does not use web services and state in thier 300+ page document that:
Although SOAP is a recognized Web Services API, the RTO web server does not offer a web services interface. That is, there is no Web Services Description Language (WSDL) file available for usage by participant web services client software.
So my question is how do send a soap request and get a response without the use of a WSDL?
How do I send/Receive SOAP messages usiung .NET I wanted to invoke a webservice, however not like the way shown in the link above.What I did was, created a service reference with the wsdl url(in a windows application with a button click event)
[URL]
have created a client object
Dim objProxy As MyClient = New MyClient()
I have populated the objrequest and objreqheader using the below methods, (assigning string values and not xml)
objreqheader.id = "abcd"
Finally the below line invokes the service
objresponsehead = objProxy.myoperation(objreqheader, objrequest, objresp)
From reference vb, this is the myoperation public function
Public Function myoperation(ByVal RequestHeader As AFA.RequestHeaderType, ByVal GetTransactionDetailsReq As AFA.GetTransactionDetailsReqType, <System.Runtime.InteropServices.OutAttribute()> ByRef GetTransactionDetailsResp As AFA.GetTransactionDetailsRespType) As AFA.ResponseHeaderType
[code]....
I checked the property of objProxy, it is having basic http binding as the property. Anyone invoked the service like this? From soapui, the response is fine, after i populate the request fields.How can i enable the trace to see what is the request going and where is the problem.
Take the tripservice wsdl from this link In this wsdl, I replaced the from element with the below(added nillable as true and added min length and max length restriction).
[Code]...
The element from xsi:nil="true" is generated, even though i am not touching the element in my vb.net code to generate the request. The element is optional as per the wsdl(min occurs = 0). How can i send a request without the from element name, even passed in the request?
I used wsdl.exe to auto-generate a proxy class, to post SOAP requests to a webservice. Works fine, but I would like to see the exact SOAP request my app is posting.
Is there a way to do this? Maybe a tool I can use?
This is my first time using SOAP with anything. I have an interesting situation, I have to send query's via soap to a secure server and get a response back and then import the response into a database. I have the connection to the secure server figured out and importing the returned xml figured out. I followed examples however I get nothing back in the service windows from the remote web site.
Here is my vb.net code with the soap request inside:
Imports System.Net
Imports System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates
Imports System.IO
Imports System
Imports System.Text
Imports System.Data
[Code] .....
I wrote a soap service in PHP using nusoap. It works fine with the test client I wrote in PHP, however, our customer wrote his client in vb.net and it is not working. There are no errors that I see, but the service is not parsing his requests properly.
I am letting nusoap generate the WSDL, and it looks fine. If I compare a message that I send in to one of his messages, I do see a few differences in the envelope, but I'm not sure if the problem is on my end or his.

I need to send a cookie along with every GET request in VB.NET? I already searched for codes but I can't find something that works for me. Can someone give me a simple code to do this?
View 1 RepliesI am developing an application in VS2008, SQL SERVER 2005 , VB Script .There is a portion where I need to send a request through API for a responce. It is working , the response is coming as JSON fomat.
I need the simplest way to change the JSON response to an array.as in PHP: json_decode($bad_json)
I have used Newtonsoft.Json but did not help. Throws exception while runtime.
Anything else what to do. Kindly help me. I can explain more if its not clear.
Inorder ti create a web bot, I wanna to send many different request from a web site.

I Just want to send request and not to get the results.
How can i find that when my request is completely sent?
I'm working on a tcp/ip project for the company i working for, with another company, we are building the server side and they're building the client side. while can send thousands of tcp/ip request over the net from one computer to another and my server can handle them very easily, from some reason when the company we are work with send a single tcp/ip request to my server with their client application, my server do get the request correctly and handle it very well BUT, after one request my server takes 25% of the cpu usage, after 3-4 requests the server takes 100% of the cpu usage,

i hav got a problemo with my client/server application that i created in vb.net.Actually i want to add a "Refresh button" at the client side such that when it is pressed some specific lines should be executed at the server side.(e.g. when the "refresh button" is pressed at the client side, the server should evaluate some variable "data" and executes this line "winsock.sendData(data)" )
View 3 RepliesI am trying to send a POST request to add some content to an API box. The rules are that the body format should be XML(values must be XML-escaped), HTTP Method (post), requires authentication(yes), request content(content-type: "application/xml". [code] Best practice is to incrementally add and remove changes to your entry list instead of deleting/recreating the entire list each time a change is necessary.New entries are placed at the top of the queue for polling and are processed in a LIFO manner.
View 2 RepliesI am trying to search for a term on this site: [URL] and return the definition of the term to a RichTextBox. I can search for the term easily enough. My initial idea was to find a div class similar to every definition, and in the source returned from my WebRequest there is always the div class:
<div class="luna-Ent">
So for example, if you search the term "lol" and view the page source, the definition for that term is wrapped as follows:
<div class="luna-Ent">laughing out loud; laugh out loud: used as a response to something funny or as a follow-up to something said only as a joke.</div>
My problem is that I cannot split the string, which contains the entire text from this web response, leaving just the above. Which I would further split to leave just the definition.Every time I attempt to split the string I get a bogus result with randomly cut up words and nonsense. There is only one <div class="luna-Ent">, so I have no idea why this isn't working when it does with a simpler string such as "lol?55?44" which you would split using "?".Here is the code so far, please excuse the crappy variable names. I always structure my stuff like that when testing?
Private Sub TextBox1_TextChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventArgs) Handles TextBox1.KeyDown
If e.KeyCode = Keys.Enter Then
e.SuppressKeyPress = True
[code]....
Instead of my method, is there any way to return only the data, from the web request, wrapped in that div class?
I have two web servers with public IPs, for example Server1 with IP 111.111.111.111 and Server2 with IP 222.222.222.222. see the picture:
There is an asp.net webform at Server 1. My intention is:
For every http request to that webform in Server1, the Server1 just pass the request's information to Server2 for logic processing and subsequently Server2 sends the response back to client (i.e. normal browser)
My questions are:
What information that Server1 needs to pass to Server2, so that Server2 able to send response back to client? note that at Server2, there is a TcpListener instance. This TcpListener instance acting as receiver for that webform request information from Server1. What is the suitable object (i.e. the class in System.Net or related namespace such as System.Net.Sockets) at Server2 for sending response back to client? Suitable here means able to meet my intention.
I have an existing WSDL which returns information to remote devices using SOAP. However, I'm writing a new app with Android which doesn't support SOAP so I can't use the existing WSDL and have had to code a new app which looks for a querystring from the Android app and returns the data in a JSON packet. I've coded the module which receives the data okay but I'm unsure how to send the data back in JSON forma
View 1 RepliesHow to find the best way to develop a way to send a meeting request with a .Net application. I'm beginning in .Net development. The thing I'd like : the user has a form where that he can fullfill with the info about the meeting. Then, the server creates a .ics file with those information. I'd like next to suggest the user to send this meeting request. So, is it possible to create a mailto with an attachement that's located on my server? Is it the best way to handle this problem? Ain't there any other possibility to interact between an app and Outlook? I'm developping in VB.Net for a web application using the framework ASP.NET MVC 3.
View 5 RepliesI'm trying to send a HTTP request to a servers interface.But I'm really confused about how to specify the parameters I want to send to the servers interface method. What I've done so far.My server interface only accepts POST requests, that's why I'm using POST and asked if something is wrong with the way I use the parameters.
Dim parameters As String = "?text=test&type=person"
Dim buffer As Byte() = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(parameters)
Dim WebReq As HttpWebRequest = CType(WebRequest.Create(NameRecPage), HttpWebRequest)
'NameRecPage is the url

Are these spellings correct in my content? What is content type about? What does it say and how do I determine which value to put in there?I don't know if thats the correct value for ContentType, actually I just want to receive some JSON fromatted data returned as string.
How can I send a POST HTTP request to a server (in Visual Basic 2010) and then receive the reply into a string.
View 1 RepliesI have used the WinHttp.WinHttpRequest object in VB6 to make HTTP POST requests many times. It works great: .Open the URL, then .SetRequestHeader (however many are needed) and then .Send the body. The .Send method makes the actual connection and sends everything to the server at once.How to I emulate this behavior in .NET? The examples I've tried with System.Net.HttpWebRequest open a stream with .GetRequestStream() and then write the body to the stream. Unfortunately, the server is responding immediately to the .GetRequestStream method and therefore never sees the POST body.I am obviously trying to connect up some legacy stuff here, but am having a hard time Googling the problem or finding another approach in .NET.
View 2 RepliesWhen you search on google most of the examples are very vague, hopefully this thread can make it to the top and will help someone looking for the same info.to explain the code what it does is create a long string by concatenating all the values together stores it in the variable finalString and then hashes the string using the SHA5 algorithm. Then its supposed to send the string (finalString) as a post request to the url.The server im sending it to reads it this way and sends a response. [code]
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to port an old VB.NET application to an Android application, but due to my lack of Java experience I am unable to find this one out. I have tried multiple solutions but to no avail.The idea is basically to do a POST request to 'url...' and getting the response cookies.[code]
View 2 RepliesI would like to know how HttpWebRequest and HttpWebResponse works. How would I send a login request to a website and then find out if it worked or not?

im in the process of using vb.net code to return the ip address of my machine its working sorta correctly i can get the right ip address if i change the addresslist.getvalue(0) from [0] to any where up to [5]this im guessing is an array of information in the network adapter or something im not real interested in the other information in the other values my problem is depending on weather i have ipv6 options enabled in my adapter settings the true(192.xxx.x.x) is in value(2) for on and value(3) for off also i tried it on another machine and it came back as value(5) of 12 my problem is i can display every value() that has information in it in a text box but i cant make the program find the right address to use(192.xxx.x.x) this code runs and produces a multiline textbox with up to 11 lines of data in it and the ip address is visible in the list of data
Dim myIPs As System.Net.IPHostEntry = Nothing
Dim ip As String
Dim h As System.Net.IPHostEntry = Nothing
[code]....
but is there a way to either compare the adapter address list to a mask to get the correct value() for the ip address or is there another way to return the ip im not aware of?
How do I address a specific control that is on a UserControl? For example, I have a UserControl containing a TextBox, that I add to a form in code. Now I want to set the text of that TextBox, but I'm not sure how to do that.
