Iv created a button and a textbox beside it. Basically i just want to be able to select the button and the values from the text file are added to display a grand total into the textbox.

I would also like to have the text box display the grand total in Pounds (�) but again i do not know how to.
I have managed a listbox with two columns (the items and their quantities). I am trying to sum up all the qtys together for a grand total, but cannot manage. I tried with listviewitem.contains and listviewitem. items. Now I'm lost.

View 2 RepliesI am having trouble trying to add the grand total arrays of number of passengers and the total cost into the list box...the way I have it right now it says for each city whatever the amount that was chosen in the combo box last and same thing with the price. I am thinking you have to use a loop of some kind to sort through all the cities and add them up individually.

i have a treeview which has a bunch of parent and child nodes preset at design time, there is 1 parent node tho which is called developer, that i want to add child nodes to at runtime.When the form first loads im trying to have it check a text file and for each line in the text file add the text/string from that as a child node tot he 'developer' parent node.

I have four forms only. The first one is the main menu, that contains three buttons, the first and second buttons go to form2 and form3;Button 3 should open a new form (4) and to write there just the total price.
In Form2: DataGrideView that contains a table made by MS Access 2007. That table contains only two columns and three rows. When you select the item, the price of that item should be saved to be added to the other selected items
In Form3: ComboBox that contains another table also made by Access2007. The same thing, the table contains two columns and the selected item has a price that should be summed with the first selection in Form2.
My Questions are:
1. What I did by adding data from MSAccess2007, is it right?First: View -> server explorer -> Browse(my database) -> Test Connection --> OK ...Second: Data Sources --> Add new database --> etc Third: I dragged one table and put it inside Form2, then the another table to Form3.Is that all right? <--- This is my first question.
2. Now, is, what I have done in step 1, enough to pick up the price of the selected item(s)?if not, what is the code that I have to write to make this connection, and where?
3. As I said, when I click on Button3 in Form1, Form4 should appear and give me the grand total. How I can write a code that makes this summation, and where?

View 10 RepliesA form has a multi line textbox that is read line by line searching for "MSH". When found it adds that line as a parent to the treeview. each following line is added as a child. Works fine if only one "MSH" line but if more than 1 I get must clone or remove message. I did clone the message but I don't want a duplicate of what is there. I have tried several variations and have not been able to get the 2nd MSH to be added as a child but not parent.I have started to repeate code so was hoping some of you experts can point me in the correct direction. I have a main form, and some sub forms, and each sub form can have some sub forms. When I have multiple sub forms open, and I try to get data from the parent form, it returns the data from the wrong parent form.For example I have two instances of Mainform.subform running. If I do something like this in a child form of one instance of the subform. It returns data from the other subform.

All works fine i.e when a parent nod is checked, its child and sub child should be checked as well but it won't check only the first subchilds and i am not able to find the solution, i have debugged it many time, but still not able to figure the solution.

I'm in need of a custom control that will allow me to do something like the attached image. It's basically a TreeView with the exception of having a row of PictureBoxes for each child node. I'd be happy with a ListView that could do this even. I tried it briefly with a DataGridView with ImageColumns but the "look" wasn't quite what I was after. I'd like the "Parent Node" text to be situated above the row of images and just can't seem to find a control that will allow this.
