Asp.net Mvc - Regex For Extracting Second Level Domain From FQDN?

I need to extract the second level domain from a FQDN. For example, all of these need to return "[url]....
Here's what I have so far:
Dim host = Request.Headers("Host")
Dim pattern As String = "(?<hostname>(w+)).(?<domainname>(w+.w+))"
Dim theMatch = Regex.Match(host, pattern)
ViewData("Message") = "Domain is: " + theMatch.Groups("domainname").ToString
It fails for example.com:8080 and bar.foo.example.com:8080.
I'm looking for regex to verify a correct domain has been entered into a textbox, it must have http:// conditional www. also must verfiy it has a TLD but must except TLD in this format to: .com.au, co.uk etc etc
Example of the regex i would like to outcome is [URL] or [URL] no trailing text like index.php
I would like to know if the result of RegEx.IsMatch is affected by encoding. I am checking if a string is contained within another one by using a regular expression pattern. I am 99.9 % sure the pattern is correct, so my question is... The matching test with the Regex.IsMatch, is applied on "byte level" or "string level"?

I have a function that works perfectly when I attempt to add a user from the same domain into a group of the same domain.

The error is actually being thrown on the Invoke line, but as I said earlier, if the user is in the same domain, this works perfectly.

I have created a simple program which uses a two tier structure of SQL Tables.At the top level, one record holds the date of the activities and linked to it using its primary key as a foreign key, three subordinate tables hold time stamped records.The issue I have been unable to solve is that before adding any of the lower level records for a given date, a newly added top level record must be saved to the database.Doing this manually is simple - but can I rely on my users to remember to do this before they start plugging in the lower level data?I thought not, so I am looking to save the top level automatically.I've failed miserably but I refuse to believe that it's not possible.
I have multiple level of For Each and in each level, i have a Linq that is the 'In' criteria as in:

It will go inside each for (because the value is not nothing), however, it will only loop (next) in the very inner 'For Each t In tFor'. After it is finish inner loops, the outer Fors' or Next will not execute... even thought there are more than one values in that 'In'... like 'sFor' or 'fFor'. i've noticed while debuging, while break at the for (for example 'sFor', before stepping in), i get the error message:
"Enumeration yielded no results" when i expand the result for that variable and it will not step into it. but if i do not expand the result, it will step in. It seem that some how, once an element is accessed for that 'In' collection, it breaks (meaning does not loop for the rest of the elements) the next for that collection is this a bug or am i missing something in Linq? BTW: i believe it has something to do with the SqlDataReader in the Linq. I'm working with IAsyncResult.
I am having an issue where I am using regex.Replace to replace part of a string. The basic idea is that I want to capture the beginning of the string then replace the end of the string with a value from code. For an example pretend I have a string that says "Test Number " followed by number and I want to increment that number. I capture the "Test Number " but when I try to concatenate that capture with the new number it treats the capture ($1) as a literal and replaces the entire string with $1[new number].

This will output "We are on Test Number 2", as expected. how I can use a variable in the replacement string portion of the Regex.Replace when including a captured group?
I'm creating a program in VB.NET to output multiple images. Some images will have the same file name. If there is multiple files with the same name I want to add "_1_" to the end of the file name. If the "_1_" file already exists I want to increment the 1 to be "_2_". If this file already exists I want to continue incrementing the number ultil it doesn't exist. So for example "filename", filename_1_", "filename_2_", etc. Here is the code that I have tried

I'm a noob to RegEx and I've tested out about 5 different RegEx "builders" but each of them require you to navigate through the options to build the Regex...each of them has failed when I try to use them.Is there an application out there free/paid where you select the line you want to grab and the RegEx is auto generated from that highlight rather than having to try to build the line of code? i am trying to get a list of domains' and users' name on a computer so that users can select to run a program in other identity, but I can only find the current user and I can't find any post about getting these. I have two .NET projects in the same domain. The first project I create long time ago in VB.NET. Now I create another project that I built in C#. How can I set up my new project in the same domain so I can access the new forms that I built in C#. Do I need to submit the whole folder from the project? I have an app that I've developed that has a vb.net front end and a SQL Server 2000 database backend. I currently have it running fine on my machine and it also installs fine on all the users that are inside the domain that the app was written in. When I try to install my application on another domain it hangs and doesn't even run the install script.
Has anyone ever experienced problems installing an app accross domains?
Is there something that I need to code differently to make it non-domain specific?

Once it is verified that the user is enrolled in that particular Domain, it takes his username to verify if he has a profile inside this system.This policy is very useful, because it exploits the security of the network domain, and the user does not have to memorize additional passwords.The problem is that this forbid access to the equipment that is not enrolled in the domain, which will be the case, if the equipment is Home Edition" or a user which try to get access from his home and a personal equipment.
