In a C# content page...the lblSuid.Text = Master.SUID is doable with the same master page...why can't or how can i access that property in a VB content page from the C# master page...I have gotten it to work C# to C# and VB to VB...but not C# to VB.

Asp.net - AutocompleteExtender Not Working In Master Page?
Jul 3, 2010I have a problem regarding the autocomplete extender in ASP.NET - it works fine in all pages I have, but NOT in a master page and i don't know why.
Here is my code:

Master/Detail Without Grid Controls?
Nov 1, 2011I am attempting to move from the VBA platform to the VB.Net platform. I have been attempting to learn master/detail structure and have found plenty of examples and help using multiple data grids to display the data in my database.
However I would like to use the detail view from the data set combined with data grids for smaller tables. So part of the form has text box and labels to show the data and the data grids are used to show the detail data.

Javascript - Master Pages Controls Id After Rendered?
Jul 5, 2011In my asp.net projects there is a master page and there is a control on Contentplaceholder1. Changing this control's id after rendered like "ctl00_Contentplaceholder1_control" in my local. But at the server its changing like "Contentplaceholder1_control". When i used documents.getelelentbyid('ctl00_Contentplaceholder1_control') js function, its working on my local but not working at the server. So why disappearing "ctl00_" when app runs at the server?
Edit:Why doesn't the server side control id contains "ctl00_" after rendered?

Now I have a requirement to add a link with HoverMenuExtender control and for that I need to put ScriptManager in the Master page, but it is working only in the content pages where there is not ScriptManager.

Page Events In Master Page And Content Page
May 11, 2011The thing is i have a Master page and a Content Page. I have a LoadComplete in Content Page and a PreRender in Master Page. The problem is one of my htmlcontrols on content page i change on the LoadComplete event server side of the content page. I also have some code for disabling controls on the Master Page PreRender event. For some reason all controls on the aspx side go through the Master Page prerender except the ones that i change on the LoadComplete side. How can i make sure the entire content page loads and then the Master Page PreRender event is called, making all the controls go through that event.

Sep 30, 2009I'm trying to get a VB2008 multi thread application working that connects to a local server program using sockets. Server requests for this particular system can be more quickly handled by a number of connections, so I've written some code to run any number of data request threads that I choose. The problem that I'm having is that the data returned from the server is getting mixed up and is often returned to a different thread/socket than the one that requested it. Other than that, it seems to work okay. If I use just one thread, then the system works as it should. Pls. see incuded code, which is heavily edited to remove all the other fruit salad. Is there any way to set up the sockets so that data returned to the socket/thread that requested it?

C# - Working Asynchronously With GUI Controls In .NET
Jun 22, 2012I have a listbox of items that need to be processed, and I would like to process them asynchronously on a separate thread. (Never done this before).So I created a Delegate, a Callback, called the method that does the work on the listbox items.
I am getting an exception "System.InvalidOperationException": Cross-thread operation not valid: Control 'ListBoxBlah' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on.
Doing the asynchronous operation for individual items doesn't make sense to me because I am only doing it to perhaps perform a large number of operations (the listbox may have 20000 items) in the background while allowing the user to do other stuff.

VS 2010 All Controls Not Working In One Form?
May 10, 2012I've run in to a very annoying situation. At the moment I have a program with 4 forms. 3 of these forms work fine, but the fourth seems to be a dud. After clicking any one of the buttons or controls on this form it works. But if I try to click anything again, it doesn't work. I can't use my back buttons, I can't even use the minimize, maximize and exit buttons in the top right corner which are automatically built in to the program. I fear I have accidentally changed a setting, or accidentally deleted some very crucial code for this

When I change the ForeColor on the control in my test project, lblCaption does change to the color I selected; however, when I run the application, the label changes back to the default (button highlight) color, and the value of the property is also reverted back when I return to the form designer.What would be the proper way to implement the ForeColor property on a custom control?
Binding Navigator Controls Are Not Working Properly?

I have programmatically set up a Datagrid and binding navigator etc., but I cannot get the movenext, movelast buttons to actually hook up to the Data on the Datagrid.
I have tried to set up an addhandler for the BindingNavigatorMoveLastcontrol, and although I can get the BindingNavigatorMoveLastcontrol to display my messagebox
WHICH IT DISPLAYS TWICE FOR SOME REASON I cannot get it to actually move around the Dataset, or any of the other navigation properties for that matter.
