Query - Access Db Returns Null After Changing Operating System Date?

May 8, 2012

I have a select statement which was returning the required values but when I changed the OS date from English(US) to English(UK), it now returns null. I believe the problem is concerned with date since in the query am selecting values where the date from the database is the same as the date in a combobox but I don't know what else I can do. It almost looks like the dates in the combox and in the database are not the same and yet the date in the combobox is actually retrieved from the database and has been returning values fine until I changed the system date format.Here's my select command:

cmd4.CommandText = _
"SELECT sum(brought_qtty), recieved_qtty from brought_coffee, centre_weigh where brought_date=#" & _
dtComb.Text.Trim & "#" & _[code].......

Ensure That Conversion Of A Date To A String And A String To A Date Will Give The Same Date Format?

Jan 16, 2012

how I can ensure that conversion of a date to a string and a string to a date will give me the same date format.

For example:

Code:
Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim d As Date = Date.Now

[code].....

I'm actually only interested in the date part as the label text shows so f is more than I want.But also, the day and month are reversed.

Avoid Public Key Spoofing?

Aug 26, 2011

I am doing an activation server which will enable users to activate their software. The problem is that they own the public key.. the verification method needs the public key to check signature of the license file. My concern is that someone could generate their own license file using two key (public and private) and then change the public key on the client which would spoof his current license.

Is there any way of avoiding this ? Where should the public key be stored ? You have to take into consideration that the checkup is done on client and the signature is created on server.
