C# - 2 Browser Windows Are Sharing Their Session?

Many of our users, internal and external, start our web application. Then at some later point, they open a new window from within the browser. They want to have 2 independent sessions of the application running. However, by doing it this way they are actually using the same session data.
Is there a way, in code, to determine if there is another browser window open with the same session?
We're using VS 2008, C# and/or VB.Net.
COMBINING MY RESPONSES FROM BELOW:
Maybe I'm saying this wrong. When they open a second window and change it to a different widget number, and then go back to the original window, on the next post-back it will be using the second window's widget number, not its own. We are using IE7.

Has anyone implemented any effective solutions to address the numerous issues that are caused by IE8's session sharing functionality? We've gotten very close by writing a custom http module that compares session and view state values, but our efforts are thwarted by things such as accelerator keys and unaccceptable copying of session objects.

Is there a way to do a Session.Abandon() when the user just kills the session by X'ing out with the little red X box in the upper right corner? I am seeing situations where after an "X out", the user comes back in and it seems like session variables are still present? I guess explorer keeps them intact? (I am unsure of this).

Does session variable shared accross different browser? If not is there away that I can share information accross browser similar to the functionality of caching but the scope is wider.

I've created a browser which has become quite popular at school and my friends are murdering me about 1 thing: Session restore. As in, you quit, tell it to remember your tabs and then retrieve the tabs at next startup. But I'm stumped. How do I do this? It seems impossible at the moment.

I want to launch a browser session from a Windows App to load a specified file using system.diagnostics.process.start("http://www.abc.com/doc1.doc") but I'd also like to specify that there shouldn't be a toolbar etc. on the browser window. Is this possible?

Is it possible to expose an event in an Microsoft Office product to a Windows service? That is, are the Office product events shared with other processes like Windows services? I know I can handle these events in VBA code in Word/Excel. However if the code is disabled the handling does not occur. I want to be able to have a service run in the background to log these events as they occr.

But now I have a need to allow the user to choose a folder path without selecting a file. Basically a folder location, on the local hard drive where my code will read the files located in the choosen folder and process against them.
I am drawing a total blank and my web searches are not giving me what I am looking for.
I initially developed this with a Windows FolderDialogBrowser control, but it will not run on the web server, likely a security issue, and I can not change it.

On windows authentication (intranet web application). When the session is about to timeout, the client should be presented with a POP-UP that asks to click OK to extend the session or else cancel to timeout the session. Which is the better way to accomplish this task. By Using Ajax Call or By handling it in the code behind file when the session (userid) is nothing.

I am storing a session variable that a user types into a textbox. With their valid input, their session gets created and they get a little more functionality than the regular end users of the site.I was wondering if it is possible to find a way to add someone's session variable to the end of a URL. This way we can email a link to one of our clients, they click it, and their session has automatically begun. They already have the textbox to enter their code into, but I was told that it would be much easier for the users to just click a link that will start their session.

I am making a webbrowser,how to prevent my browser from opening new IE windows. Because what happens is, there are some links that will open new windows and therefore IE comes in place because it is set as default windows browser which I really don't want because my browser looks really bad if it opens links in another webbrowser.I want it to be just a basic browser, it has only one window, and it should navigate within that window. how to make projects which span multiple files and classes just fine. I've had big multi-file things working.I've been told explicity that my classes have to be private...yet at the same time I'm supposed to have a main method elsewhere and somehow call a menu in my main working file.I can get the program working perfectly when I do it in a logical manner but I just can't figure out how to call a private sub. I keep getting the error reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference.I've tried breaking the rules a bit and making one initial sub which is public, shared, etc... but all this does is delays the error until it tries to call its first private sub.

I am creating a webbrowser with Visual Basic, and I have finished everything but this: When I click on an external link, (I.E. On a photo, or on youtube) it opens up in a new IE window. I want it to open in my browser, not Internet Explorer.I have read everything I have found on this subject, but it is all for normal web browsers. I coded a web browser over the course of a year called Nova - very advanced with tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, etc etc etc etc. I could go on all day about how advanced it is. But.. there is one flaw. You cannot make it the default browser; I don't know the code!I already know the CommandLineArgs stuff so it actually opens the HTML file rather than just opening the program; in fact, I already can make files open with Nova completely. It's just the other stuff - you know, when a website is to be opened from a help file or something, it opens with Nova, Windows recognises it as the default browser, stuff like that.

Other topics around the Internet are all unfinished topics, so I'll ask this myself. How do I set a self-made browser as the default browser? I know it has something to do with accessing the registry and checking what the value is in some places, but I'm not quite sure. Now, I've made this browser called Nova;
very well coded and advanced, tabbed browsing, bookmarks, homepage, history, can change default search provider, uses Gecko as its engine so it's not just an IE shell, etc. It's been developed over the past year and will still continue to be developed. I'm almost ready to release the first version - but I just need this annoyance solved.

I am trying to make a web browser for a school project... and I have a few questions...
The first being that I have a textbox for my address bar and I want it to do a few things, I want it to expand when i set my browser to fullscreen , be able to press enter when typing in it and it will take me to that webpage and for it to show recent history... (i know it seems like a ton of expectations mainly i would like the first 2 the third is not as important) So i dont know how to do any of that...
I also would like to know how to go about making new tabs on demand and not have a bunch of tabs just sitting there...
last question how do i go about making new windows not just for browser windows but, making something like firefoxes options window.. not necisarily to do that but just to make i guess another form pop up...
