I have bot changed any of the textbox controls but I did somethi;ng that wiped it clean . Do you know how to put it back like it was. I am new to this.

View 4 RepliesI am trying to write a program where I have to create a Reset Button.On the form are two buttons a textbox and a label.I have to put some information in the textbox and if the information is wrong I get an error message, I have finished that part of the program.My problem is creating the Reset button.When I get an error I need to press the reset button to clear the data in the textbox and replace it with the words Reset Button in the textbox. Also I have to create a label that doesn't appear unless I don't press the Reset button to start over. So if I have an error and try to type something else in the textbox without pressing the Reset button then the label appears and say YOU NEED TO PRESS THE RESET BUTTON. That is the only time that the label will appear is when I don't press the reset button.

The idea is to be able to clear and reset all of these by clicking a reset button.

Ok, so I am building my own program to control a video player I have through telnet, I have everything else working except one thing.I have a reset button to reset the player, when I press it, it sends the string "Reset" and the unit resets without a problem.But when I add a code to close the winsock connection upon reset, it doesn't send the string to the unit. I am sure what is happening is the winsock is getting closed at the exact same time it is trying to send the string and so it fails to send, how do I make it close winsock AFTER the string has been sent? 2. This would also store a "log" as the textfile for later use.However the tricky part for me is to:
1. Get the output from the mw2sa.exe window to automaticly update the textfile every few seconds
2. Be able to read the textfile in the textbox. VB tells me its unable to read the textfile as it is beeing used.
3. Somehow if i use the

To launch the program all i get is a black cmd window.. However, a log.txt file is created with the correct output, but since the cmd window isnt showing any output i dont think im able to use sendkeys to start the program. And if i try with only

I get the correct cmd window with all the right output. Sendkeys is also able to pass the key to start the program... But no log.txt is created!

I have written a little helper app that mostly does various text operations on a paragraph of text. I am able to select a block of text from the Code Window and drop it onto my VB.NET apps TextBox and complete the text operation. However I am unable to drag and drop the altered text back to the VB Code window Via the DoDragDrop method.

View 3 RepliesI have a form containing a date textbox and a submit button and a close window button. The date textbox onblur calls a javascript function which checks for date validation and some other logic and displays some alert messages. The date on the textbox is always selected and onfocus. My problem is when I try to click the close window button with/without changing the date the alert messages from the onblur logic are displaying and I am unable to close the window. I tried using onchange instead of onblur but onchange too works when a control looses focus. it works fine when I donot change the date but when I change the date and hit the close window button it too displays the alert messages and the window does not close. Please suggest me what will be my best option.
View 2 RepliesI've created an application that runs queries against a SQL server (via Data Adaptors) in VB.NET 08 and returns the results to a DataGridView. It works great and returns my data, but when I switch to a different query that returns different columns, the DataGridView keeps the old columns from the previous query and adds the new columns from the new query to the end (far right) of the DataGridView. Is there a way to counter this? I don't want those previous unused columns showing up in my results.I tried setting the DataGridView DataSource and DataMember to Nothing and that didn't fix it. 1. I don't seem to find a way to reset my resultArray. As it works now i get the result from the first test second test and so on each time.[code]

But the problem is, each time i click on the button, the old data in the ReportViewer1 table doesn't get cleared for the new query result to come in. All it does is append the new results to the old.
