I am trying to capture when the user pastes some text from the windows clipboard. At the moment, I don't care about files or images. Here is the base code that I am using.

I would like to have a button that pastes the contents of the clipboard line by line into a listbox.I think i have the logics that the clipboard would be made into an array and then i would loop through the array and add each one as a new listbox item.
View 9 RepliesI'm working on an app in which the user copy and pastes from a website into a richtextbox then the program uses the phone number, name and "match by string" from the richtexbox. What is copied is like an Excel table type thing but all the data is in Column "A". The data isn't tab deliminated. If i split on spaces then that will give incorrect results since some of the pieces of data have spaces in them. It looks like I'm about to do some really nasty ugly coding to get to the values I need. take a look at this snippet of data and tell me of a graceful way of getting the name, phone number and that last value in the line if such coding exists? This is the info I would need to pickup on in the first row of data. SHEKITA LLOYD, (xxx) 956-80, and Non-Payment of premium.

I want to prevent users from pasting images into a rich text box, what is the best way to accomplish this?

There is Bitmap data on the clipboard from a screen capture. If I paste it into a RichTextBox it works OK. That is, if I remove the first two lines below.

RichTextBoxTxt.Paste(DataFormats.GetFormat(DataFormats.Bitmap))
However, If I capture the clipboard data and restore it before I paste I no longer get my bitmap displayed in the box. My problem is, in the real situation I need to use the clipboard before I paste which is why I save it and restore it above.
1) Do you know why restoring doesn't appear to work here?
2) I can't paste before the save/restore. Is there something else I can do?
A VB routine assembles a string of email addresses. It is sent to the clipboard with
Clipboard.Clear
Clipboard.SetText Atext
Where Atext is the address string The email client is opened with

At this point, when the email client is Outlook, the clipboard doesn't show what was added to the Windows clipboard above regardless of whether we use a left click in the BCC box or a CTRL-V.
In the old days of windows workgroup 3.11 there was the possibility to copy and paste on the network.This feature has been removed which is weird today as we are in sharing information era !So would it be technically difficult to recreate windows for workgroup clipboard on windows 7 in c# ? What API method would be mandatory to use ? Anyone did already try ?

application i'm developing in school.I am trying to make the program detect when the user copies new content to the clipboard,when this happens I want the program to check the data type,
I want text content to be written to a text file.Images can be left alone.if a file or folder is copied, i want the location of the copied file and the file name to be written to a text file.
I only really need help in getting the program to detect a clipboard modification, preferably with the AddHandler statement.
I am unable to read a pasted datagridviewrow object from the clipboard. All I want to do is, when a user has the entire row selected and copied, I would paste that row into the clipboard as a DataObject. That works just fine but when I attempt to read that DataObject (after the user clicks Paste) the DataGridViewRow that's saved in the clipboard always has a value of Nothing. I wrote a program that copied an image from the clipboard and stored it on a file. The machine I wrote it on ran Vista. When I copied the programs over to a computer running XP the program wouldn't recognize that there was an image on the clipboard. It will recognize that there is text on the clipboard but not images. When I transfer the programs over to a computer running Windows 7 it works just like it did on the Vista machine. So I figure the problem is somehow related to the XP operating system. But how? Lots of programs I use on the XP machine can copy images to and from the clipboard. So why can't the one I wrote in Visual Basic?

When they leave Microsoft word's app window and select a new app the CAPS button would turn off. Then when they return back to Word caps turns back on. Capturing video is easy, I could simply let the user browse all open windows (or applications) and have the user click the prefered one. But what about audio? I have several UserControls in an ASP:Repeater. They are 'Add to basket' User Controls with a text input for quantity and a button to add the item to the basket.
My problem is the value is being reset to 1 whenever I enter a value into the quantity text box. I think this is happening because the containing page reinitialised the repeater (which holds the UserControls) and the quantity is one again before the UserControl's click event is fired.
how to capture the value in the textbox before the Postback occurs, I am happy to stick this data in a session for now.

Currently I have the start-key for my vb.net application hardcoded like this:
GetAsyncKeyState(Keys.F2)
Where vb.net sais "F2 As System.Windows.Forms.Keys = 113" on mouse-over.But I want my users to be able to pick their own Key. If I make a drop-down box (combobox) and pre-define some choices in there (Like ESC or F3), all those choices are strings. How can I convert those strings to a System.Windows.Forms.Keys integer? Also, I'd like it to also be possible to "capture" a single keypress. So they'd click the "capture" button, and the next key they hit will be saved as the start/stop button. But I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for that one.
