Clearing A Range Of Cells In A Row?
Apr 28, 2012is there a way to select a range of cells in a worksheet and clear the data in them?i DO NOT want the WHOLE ROW to be deleted, only a few selected cells (they are all adjacent to each other)and i don't think the ActiveSheet.ranges method works as:
1) the coordinates of the cells in the row to be cleared are determined logically by a VBA sub, i know how to get the coordinates, just dunno how to delete the row
2) this needs to be applied in different areas of the worksheet AND across OTHER worksheets as well.
I'm quite sure I have the logic needed to find the coordinates just need to know how to clear the cells if there is a way to do it that is similar to ActiveSheet.cells ( row, column ) then it would be best from my understanding the ranges method only takes in letter and number formats in strings... i need something that takes in number and number?

How can I get a range select use shift and ctrl keys that will check the checkbox?The moment you check a box, it selects only that row, so the rows selected are down to just the row you clicked on. I've been playing with several events and settings and I can't seem to get it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?When your problem is solved, add (RESOLVED) to the end of your topic. Jun 3, 2012I am trying to make a Windows Form in VS 2010 that is used to determine whether someone is entitled to a prize/medal/award whatever you want to call it. So basically if someone clicks on a check box to say they attended an event and they enter a date range between saying they attended the event between 01/01/2010 - 01/02/2010 and the requirement for the award is that they attended the event for more than 20 days then because the statement is true I would want a box to pop up and say person is entitled to receive a particular award. There are multiple awards available based on different conditions so to be eligible for so the result would be dependent upon which boxes and date ranges are selected.So For Award1 the logical argument is something along the lines of
IF Event1CheckBox = Checked AND
Attendance => 20
Result = Entitled to Receive Award1 Else = Not Entitled To Receive Award1

Type Into Multiple Selected Cells In A DataridView?
Mar 6, 2009I have a DataGridView. I'd like the user to be able to select multiple cells using ctrl/shift. Then, as they type, I want the contents to update in all the selected cells. I'd prefer it if this happened as they type but I'd live with it updating the other selected cells when they leave the current cell.
I've tried hooking in to various events to to this but in each case there seems to be one problem or another that stops me doing it.

Jan 14, 2011I am trying to create a form that will update a database of school tests with checkboxs.Basically, i have a textbox for a student id, a combobox with the subjects in it, and a datagridview with the tests of the selected subject.(There are about ten subects with about ten tests each).What i want to happen is when you put in an id number, it should bring up all the tests the student passed in each subject in the datagridview. So when you select a subject it will load the datagridview with the tests (in a checkbox format) (with the tests he already passed checked) so you can click and add tests and then save it to the db.

Apr 18, 2009I have a Windows Form that contains a DataGridView. The DataGridView ReadOnly property is set to TRUE. The DataGridView as 3 columns. I would like to make the cells edible (ReadOnly=False) when the RowHeader is clicked. I thought that the following code would do it, but when I click on a RowHeader and then click in one of the cells in that row, the cell is still ReadOnly.

Aug 11, 2011I'm trying to dynamically create a listview. on reports.aspx user selects a bunch of checkboxes. On the next page, user sees reports.aspx, and should see a table with columns of the checkboxes he selected. My idea was to create a listview, then dynamically change the header row of the LayoutTemplate, then change the select statement depending on which columns selected. This is what I have:

Problem is that this doesn't work because i can't put a code block (<%%>) inside the LayoutTemplate. Is there a way in the code behind to edit the LayoutTemplate, or another way to cycle through the Request.Form vars and build the table header row with it?

Aug 12, 2011I have one user that is having a problem with my application, the error report shows an event type of clr203r and an index out of range exception. From what I've read this seems to have "something" to do with arrays or lists. (What that something is, so far, is beyond me or anything I've researched). I do have one array in my program -- myarray(13) as byte and I do have the syntax right as far as noting 20 elements in it. in my other bits of code.
I'm reading those bytes in the serial port, deciphering them and performing some actions. (to be vague). But just with what I've said, can anyone point me to a possible problem? Is the index out of range exception ALWAYS concerned with just arrays or lists? Or could it be something else?

Jul 5, 2009My main goal is to have an excel spreadsheet that automatically plots the overall success of my stock portfolio over time (% change over time). I've been able to incorporate stock data into my spreadsheet by linking it to the web, but the trouble is the spreadsheet will keep no history of what the previous stock values were, so I can't graph how things change over time. This sounds like it might be too complicated to be built in to excel, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to program this in Visual Basic. Maybe something like this.... If refresh then new cell plus new time stamp. Another possibility would be to have a whole bunch of cells that refresh only once but at longer and longer intervals, e.g.,
