Public Class Form1
Dim Hours, Minutes, Seconds As Integer
Private Sub btnReset_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnReset.Click[code]....

Works When the Input Value is 30:

Does not Work When the Input Value is 31:

Formatting Excel - If I Try Using Style.numberformat With The Date And Time Formats, They Don't Change And Are Entered As If Didn't Change The Format?

Mar 11, 2011

I am throwing some data out into Excel and am having some formatting troubles. I have 5 columns (date, time, a long number I don't want displayed in scientific notation - text is fine, text, text). I can get it all working with numberformat, however I have to do them different ways.

Date works this way cell.numberformat = "m/d/yy" and it formats it to say 3/1/11

Time works this way cell.numberformat = "h:mm AM/PM" and it formats it to say 8:07 AM

For the long number cell.numberformat = "@" and it doesn't change the format and it gets displayed in scientific notation

BUT if I use cell.style.numberformat = "@" it works as it should, but it messes up all of the date and time cells. Apparently when you use style.numberformat, it doesn't just apply to the cell you're working with. If I try using style.numberformat with the date and time formats, they don't change and are entered as if I didn't change the format at all.

Edit The Splash Setting Time From 1 Second To X# Seconds?

Feb 3, 2011

Basically, my app has the main form and a windows form "splash". Let me explain, this "Splash" is a WINDOWS FORM, not a splash form; its just named splash because I want to use it for that reason. In my project settings, my main form is my startup, and the splash form is my splash. This splash form has been coded on a timer for 10 seconds, but when I set the splash form as the splash setting, the form shows up for 1 second and goes to the main form. What I need is to edit the splash setting time from 1 second to x# seconds (preferebly 10)

Battery Life Time - Measurement In Seconds Or Hours

Jan 28, 2011

Searching about kernel32.dll and battery functions in it, I came across some interesting
Public BatteryLifeTime As System.UInt32
The full declaration is:
Private Declare Auto Function GetSystemPowerStatus Lib "kernel32.dll" ( _
ByRef lpSystemPowerStatus As SYSTEM_POWER_STATUS) _
As Integer
Private Structure SYSTEM_POWER_STATUS
Public BatteryLifeTime As System.UInt32
What I don't understand is, what measurement do the "BatteryLifeTime As System.UInt32" is in? I mean, is the Battery life Time in seconds or hours.. Or something else, so how can I convert it to something I can use..

There is a varchar column in the database table in this format of military time 1230 or 1750 or 1320 and that field get populated into a gridview in asp. I need to convert that string to standard time. I have tried the DateFormatString and nothing seems to work.

HeaderText="Scan Time" DataFormatString="{0:hh}:{0:mm} {tt}">
<ItemStyle Width="80px"></ItemStyle>

that DateFormatString causes Input string was not in a correct format. error.

I have tried combinations of hh:mm and things like that but since its a varchar I think its failing

Time Stamping Events And Counting How Many Occurred In The Last N Number Of Seconds?

May 9, 2010

I have an application where event driven events are already detected. Each time an even is detected I increment a counter.I would like to add the following functionality:

1.) I would like to create a time stamp each time an event is detected and store them in some kind of data structure.

2.) I would like to count how many events are being stored (or in essence count how many events have occurred in the past 10 seconds, not once but continuously).

3.) I would then like to discard of any events older than 10 seconds note events are interrupt driven and can occur more frequently than once a second, but updating my count of how many events have occurred in the past 10 seconds can be done as infrequently as say once a second.

.net - .NET DateTime.ToString() - Default Format Setting?

Nov 18, 2011

Is the default format of ToString dependent on anything server related? Here's the issue: I'm testing and have tested an application on my local machine and ToString(), by default, is returning in a format of "MM/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss tt", however on our server it appears to be returning as "dd/MM/yyyy hh:mm:ss tt" which the consuming application is not expecting and causing errors.

Dim uvExpireDate = DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(1)
Dim token = String.Format(fmtString, uvExpireDate.ToUniversalTime().ToString(), [various other params])
