May 1, 2009Can I change the location of the text inside listbox. I have three text box button and the listbox. When I click the button the text on the button will go to list box but I want it in such a way that I can define the location of the text, current it add iexjohn13black.

May 5, 2010How to programmatically change foreground color and make bold text in individual cell location on DataGridView control (Visual Basic)?
I use "dgMatrix.Rows(r).Cells(c).Value = x" to assign individual numeric values to individual cells in a DataGridView control. My question; is there a similar way to change foreground color and make bold the text in this cell, by specifying the individual row/column cell location?
For example; for cell (row 3, col 5) in the DataGridView make text in cell say red and bold or blue and bold so as to highlight and distinguish individual cell contents. As needed, I will also need to reset these properties (foreground back to automatic/black and font from bold back to regular); the reset could be done globally to the whole DataGridView as opposed to indiviaually by cell.

Apr 30, 2012I am making an invoicing application. I have a label (lblCost) inside of a UserControl (InvoiceEntry) inside of a FlowLayoutPanel (pnlEntries). InvoiceEntry represents a line item on the invoice, and pnlEntries is the "body" of the invoice. pnlEntries can hold several InvoiceEntry controls.
I am attempting to sum all of the lblCost values from each InvoiceEntry control to make a subtotal, and I want that subtotal to change automatically if costs are changed (e.g., a change in quantities being ordered). Is there a way to handle when the lblCost.Text property of any of the InvoiceEntry controls contained within pnlEntries changes?

Aug 9, 2009I researched this and found I had to use something called "ScreenToClient" [URL]...what I want to do is to have a picture box that I can just get the coords from easily (for example 0,0 bottom left hand corner)
So how do I get that to work? (im guessing something like comparing the picturebox size to the form size then working it out but im not quite sure how to do that.)

May 16, 2011Another program I am working on for fun, I am basically shuffling a list inside a listbox, what I want to do is delete the rest but not sure how to go through with that. At the moment I have this: [code] Just contains the code, declarations outside weren't included.So anyway, once clicked, it will call on the function to basically shuffle in a for loop, I was wondering if I should (or how should) create another function and call it in the click button or have just a loop in the click button so it deletes half the list. What I am doing is I have 20 list of items, I want the program to shuffle the items and then deleting the lower 10, meaning, if I had 10 items and wanted 5 top, I'd want: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and deleting 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

Jun 21, 2010I need to holds the common settings for all of the apps ona server (UNC path). Previously I used an ini file on the server and the application was told to look there via a command switch.
I understand that I'm trying to use .net in an old fashioned way by not packaging it for web update & delivery but that's a contraint of the architecture I need to work with.
Is there any way to force my application to use the application.exe.config file from a set location rather than the user data area that .net automatically writes it to? Even if not on a server path, then in the application directory where we can push update it?

So I have a new instance of frmClue. Inside my main form I have the code:
frmClue2.Owner = frmClue
frmClue2.StartPosition = FormStartPosition.Manual

frmClue2.Show()
The code works except for setting the location. The location is initially set to {X = -3 Y = -3} and it will not change. I have tried to set it to new Point(1440, 0) and that does not work. One interesting thing I found was if I declared the new instance of the form locally inside my main form rather than in the module, then the initial location is set to {X = -1 Y = -1} and I can change it no problem. However anytime the code leaves the main form, the instance disappears hence why I declare it as public in the module. I used the same code to create a new instance of the main form as well and there are no problems.

Nov 4, 2011I'm developing a program at the moment and I'm trying to add the capability to add a texbox everytime you click a button. This is simple other than I'm trying to be efficiant as possible, so I made a sub that creates the textbox and the button calls the sub. Here is where it gets tricky I want the new textbox to move just below the previouse textbox, I'm not sure how to do this since Im only really createing one textbox over and over and having a variable name it by one. This souds confusing I know, but check out my code and it will make since.
