I have tried my best but failed so i have decided to discuss with u all about this matter.when i run Given below code on my current system it's OK but when i install this on my client machine then it gives my a window during call Print button event that ask for User Name and Password which are filled according to my setting.But there is no database name that is given by me. Any one can help me about this problem.

View 3 Repliesi have a pretty standard crystal report that shows a quote for materials for various customers - i also have a form, lets call it form1 for arguments sake - on form 1 i have two data grid views - one attaches to the customer table, one attaches to the quote table. Customer and quotes are linked on customer number at the database level.
i dragged and dropped these on to the form and they work great, as i scroll through each customer in the customer datagridview, that customer's respective quotes show up in the quotes datagridview.
now the problem - as a third tier, i have a crystalreportviewer that has all the nice graphics and presentation of this quote, company logo, etc etc, i've also done all the standard report sources etc etc, but the darn thing won't cycle through the quotes as i scroll through them in the quotes datagridview.
am i missing something simple? all i want to do is highlight "abc company", see their list of 50 different quotes pop up in the quotes datagrid view, then click a quote number and see the quote display in the fancy smanshy crystal report viewer so i can then print or export or whatever.

I am working in vb.net, visual studio 2008, with the crystal reports that comes with it. I have a push model: creating a dataset, putting data into it, making that a report source, and putting the report source onto (or into) a crystal reports viewer control (not neccessarily in that order). It works -- for the first page that's displayed.That report has two pages. If I click on the control to go to the 2nd page (where I have no data displayed yet), then on the control to come back to the first page, it displays with no data -- just the background text is there.I can see my dataset-loading code executing in the debugger, and as near as I can tell the database is no longer giving me back any data

1.) I created my vb.net application in release mode.
2.) I created new setup project and added my vb.net application project in that solution.
3.) Also added the primary output in application folder
4.) [dun know how to add database so] created app_data folder inside the application folder and added the database file manually from add->file
5.) [dun know how to add crystal reports so] created reports folder inside the application folder and added the reports manually from add->file
6.) Build solution.
7.) Tried deploying in client machine.
8.) Application runs fine and works great. But crystal report files doesn't. When i try to open crystal report some long error messages comes in my way.

View 1 RepliesI want to change "Prompting Text" of a crystal report parameter in VB6.0. When report is connected to View, it is able to change the "Prompting Text" of parameter. But when it is connected to Procedure, it is throwing "Not a Report Parameter".
I found one reason behind this. When we use view, we create parameters explicitly in the report. But for procedure, report will get parameters from procedure. As there are no parameters in report, it throws "Not a Report Parameter".
So how to add prompting text to the "crystal report parameter" from vb6 when the report uses stored procedure?
