I'm searching for a way to change the font size of selected text in a RichTextBox (rtf) having different font families (e.g. Arial and MS SansSerif) and font styles (underline, bold...) using the FontDialog, but without changing the families and styles. The following code resets all the font attributes, which is not what I want:

View 2 RepliesI have inherited from a Windows.Forms.Listbox so I could override the OnPaint and OnDrawItem methods in an effort to highlight specific items and alternate backcolors. I am also skipping some DrawItem events to prevent flickering.Everything is working fine, however when I select items in the listbox, it looks like the font is shrinking or becoming more compressed.Then when I mouse leave, the font goes back to its normal size and appearance but the same items are still selected (which is correct). During debugging the font never changes nor do any of its properties, but it does end up looking different when the item is selected and the mousedown event just happened.

View 1 RepliesAll my forms inherits from one base form where we handle background paint and set standard properties. Recently, I think of cheching if the app is running on Vista or Later to use Segoe UI font, and I added this. The problem is than inherited forms changed sizes and their inner controls changed also... even PictureBoxes! The controls and forms seems to be thinner (in width), so square picturebox became vertical rectangules!

I have created a page containing the Wizard control. It's a very simple one. User selects some data on the first page, clicks Next and then has a choice of Previous or Finish. When they click Finish the form is submitted but, for some reason, the font size of all my labels increases. There's nothing in the code of the Finish button that would do that.
View 1 RepliesI have a problem with my program. I have a form with 2 buttons UP and DOWN. I use this buttons to change the size of the form. The first step works fine. If I press the down button I get MsgBox ("Go Down", vbYesNo,) if I press Yes the form resize from 300 to 600 and if I press no it stay 300. The problem is, if the form is already at 600 everytime I press the down button I get the MsgBox ("Go Down", vbYesNo,) if I press Yes it recycles it self the form goes to 300 and then back to 600 and if I press No it stays 600. What I want is if the form is already 600 and I press the down button it skips the MsgBox ("Go Down", vbYesNo,) and the form stay at 600.

View 1 RepliesI have set my forms font as "Segoe UI, 14.25pt" and have just placed an single label on the form.
Upon placing the label by default it gets the forms font i.e Segoe UI, 14.25pt
i have placed the following code on the labels textchange event
Private Sub Label1_TextChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Label1.TextChanged
Dim f As New Font(Me.Label1.Font, FontStyle.Italic)
Label1.Font = f
MessageBox.Show(Label1.Font.Name)
End Sub
Now when the form is loaded , i get a message box showing the labels font name as "Microsoft Sans Serif"
The labels font size also changes to 8 but it is italic.
Why is this happening? And why does the textchange event occur on the form load?
In VB10/win forms project, when I change the forms font size the form and all the controls on the form get larger or smaller, OK great! The problem is the combo boxes then appear with their text highlighted. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong, simple example..

View 10 RepliesWhats the font size real meaning? since when i use Arial font size 10 in the report its gonna take different space than the textbox im using (Both using exactly same font type/size/unit) its kinda if i set 10 milimiters to the font size why would the i and M for example have so diferent size.
i wish it was like in the Notepad where all the letters take the same space. what i need its to give a certain texbox(in the report) with auto grow to have always the same lines of height but its not posible to calculate it from vb b4 being inputed to the report.

I'm writing a couple of custom controls in VB.Net 3.5, in VS2008, and would like to resize the font size based on the height of the control, and vice-versa. Is there any way of converting a font of say 38.25pts into a me.height, or the other way round?
I realise the font width will change dependent on the font used (which isn't an issue for my purposes), but as far as I know, the font height is usually consistent Accessibility/Large font settings won't be an issue with this application.
I have a DataGridViewImageColumn that should display an image for only certain rows. After I bind a generic list of classes to my datagrid, I loop through each row and update the image cell with an image that is an embedded resource for the rows that require the image. This works great if the form has been fully loaded. However, when I attempt this on form load the image doesn't show up? I also can't perform simpler things such as changing the row background color on form load. Should I be performing this logic in a different event after form load?
For i As Integer = 0 To dgvRoles.Rows.Count - 1

imageStream = Me.GetType().Assembly.GetManifestResourceStream("MyApplication.Timer.png")
