Dynamically Adding Background Image - Creating A Button Control ?

I'm dynamically creating a button control, and I'd like to add a background image from my resources thing to the button.

Now, I'm pretty sure it would be:

But I don't know how to refer to an image that is in my project resources.

I've tried:

CODE:

But that gives error:Value of type 'System.Drawing.Bitmap' cannot be converted to 'String'.

Dialog OK Button Sometimes Returns Dialog Cancel?

Jun 30, 2009

I have a Dialog that is basically a confirmation dialog on some SQL statements. After the dialog I have an if statement: If frmRelease.ShowDialog() <> Windows.Forms.DialogResult.Cancel then.My buttons are set as DialogResult = OK and DialogResult = Cancel respectively on the dialog form.

For some reason, sometimes my button set to DialogResult = OK is returning me a DialogResult.Cancel, and causing me to skip a block of cleanup code.

RadioButtons And A Submit Button In A Dialog?

Jan 15, 2011

I'm making a basic game in Visual Basic, and I have a form called "Level1". In Level1, you press a button, and it pops up a dialog (I made the dialog, which is just called "Dialog"). The dialog has an empty label because once you press a button in Level1, in the click event, the label text is set, along with the RadioButton text. The Label is a question such as "What is 10 x 10?" and the RadioButtons display possible answers. Below the RadioButtons, is a Submit button that the user clicks once a RadioButton is selected. The thing is, I only have one dialog box because the game has 5 levels and 9 buttons per level, so I don't want to make 45 separate dialog boxes. Is there a way I can make the Submit button click event in the click event of the first button in Level1?

Private Sub q1Btn_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles q1Btn.Click
Reset() 'Setting text for label and radiobuttons to ""
'Setting text for label and radiobuttons

Cannot Dynamically Add New Button?

Jan 11, 2012

I'm just starting to learn VB and Visual Studio and I've run across a problem. I've spent the best part of a day trying to find the answer and I have a horrible feeling that it's going to be something very simple that I've over looked.I'm working on a WPF in Visual Studio 2010 and am trying to dynamically create a button on the main window when a button is clicked (I know, everything I've read tells me this is pretty basic!) Here's an edited snippet of the code I've written:

Imports System.Data.OleDb
Imports System.Windows.Forms
Imports Excel = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel

Print Control And Color Dialog?

Aug 24, 2010

I have a small project that requires me to have a font dialog, a color dialog and a print dialog. It has four text boxes that are formatted based on the font from the dialog and the color from the other dialog. I am to print it all out with the same font and color. I have easily put the font in the right place and have the rest of the print set up, but the DrawString wants Brushes.<color> for it's color. How do I make it the same color as in the text boxes? I am not trying to get you to do my HW for me, but everything I see online is the brushes or shapes... if you could suggest something to look into that would be great, but I doubt my grade would be much affected by my printing everything with Brushes.Black like everyone else in the world seems to be doing...

VS 2010 Dynamically Generated Button Background?

Nov 2, 2011

On my main form I have a 9 button grid that I need to fill with a gradient colour so that it represents a "heat map" going from Green (lower left) to Red (upper right). The "heat map" needs to be generated dynamically as - if I use an pregenerated image I have noticed colour variances when working on different screens / projectors as in the app there are other dynamically generated graphics & the two sets of colours need to match. So to achieve this - on my main form I have a PictureBox that I fill with the gradient colour. On top of the PictureBox I place my grid of 9 buttons.I then hide each button & take a screenshot of what is behind it & that then becomes the background image for the button. The button is then made visible. All works fine when I am testing in on a simple form The issue is that this arrangement needs to be placed on a tab control & I'm having difficulty replicating what I could do successfully on the simple form.....

Code for the colour gradient :-

Dim A As Integer
Dim B As Integer
Dim C As Integer
Dim D As Integer
