This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td>
<input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden">
<img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work">
</td>

Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?
I have a normal winform and I would like to know is there any possibility to generate a html page and to add a css file to the html page from the local folder.
something like this:
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/css" src="MyDir/main.css"></script>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
How do I do this from the codebehind(logic part)not web application codebehind using webbrowser control.
I have intellisense when i type this:<p><%= boolean.falsestring %></p>
I don't have intellisense when i typ this:<p class="<%= boolean.falsestring %>"></p>
To further clarify (see line below), the first <%=%> doesn't show me intellisense popup, the second however does, why is that? <p class="<%= boolean.falsestring %>"><%= Boolean.FalseString%></p>
I have a webbrowser control and the following code is in a for next loop. If I use wba = New WebBrowser the code works in the background and I don't see the loaded pages in the webbrowser control. My question is how can I see the results in webbrowser component with wba=New WebBrowser ?
wba = New WebBrowser
AddHandler wba.DocumentCompleted, AddressOf wb_DocumentCompleted
TheLoginUrl = Items(2) & "/test.php"
wba.Navigate(New Uri(TheLoginUrl))
results.Text &= "Login to: " & Items(2) & vbNewLine

I'm doing the first bit of web-page development I've done in years, in VS2008, using VB.net. I have a fairly simple layout, which is using several nested tables. IE6 displays the layout just fine, but Firefox for some reason shows the whole thing in a small panel at the top of the page, with a scrollbar.
View 1 RepliesI'm having some issues with an Invalid Viewstate error and I can understand why it's happening but I don't know how to fix it so I'm hoping someone can help.
I have a page which is similar to this /story/?id=123 but I'm using a different page to Server.Transfer to this page.
So I've set up /info to Server.TransferRequest("/story/?id=123") and it works fine until the page does a postback to itself.
We have a login form on this page which simply reloads the page but when it does it seems to add /?id=123 onto the end of the URL so it ends up like this /info/?id=123 thus causing an Invalid Viewstate error.
I've already tried adding EnableViewStateMac="false" - this fixes the error but it doesn't log the user in as expected so it does not give the required result.
Is there a better way to redirect to my page other than Server.TransferRequest but still keeping the nice URL? - I don't want to response.redirect if I can avoid it.
Upon a javascript button click, I'm using jquery to post to a url:
$(".optionClick").click(function () {
var caseOption = $(this).attr('title');
$.post("../tracking/RecordClick.aspx?page=gallery&item=" + caseOption);
});
On the page being called, I'm using the following vb.net code to retrieve the querystring variables and write them to a database:Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
[Code]...
Each of the javascript blocks above worked locally as intended but failed in the same manner with multiple DB writes and Firebug "Aborted" status.If I call the url+querystring directly via the browser, everything works as expected. (Edit) Also tried using the full path url in the code above - no improvement.
I want my ListBox control to respond dynamically to a change of selected item.However, "OnSelectedIndexChanged" fires an event only when AutoPostBack is set to true. Having a dozen of controls updating each time a user makes a change in selection insingle one is quite annoying and irritates a lot. Is it possible to enable
View 11 RepliesIt is saved on my desktop for easy access.I can close the program. I can click the solution to open it right back up, no problems.I then zip my file (also to the desktop)
My problem: I moved the original file (Project A) to another folder and extracted the unzipped Project A onto the desktop. When I open the new Project A's solution file, nothing happens besides VB starting up. It doesn't show me anything.
i have a button that grabs a text file depending on what the user types in a text box.And then it loads the text file and makes an HTML report on an external browser. Thats all good.But i want another button under that button that does exatly the same thing but it displays the html in a form using Web Browser for vb.net. 2008 version by the way. so i have two buttons, depending on what the user pushes. same html is produced, but one is in external browser while the other is in form.Here is code i used for first button
Private Sub Button1_Click_1(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim sFilename As String
sFilename = ("E:\RMIT WORK\Testing\" & txtOfficeID.Text & ".txt")
If Not File.Exists(sFilename) Then

I have created a form and dropped a MicrosoftReportViewer onto the form. It appears in the control panel on the bottom of the design view but it will not show up in the form. This is the second form I have done like this. The first one is fine. I can see the report viewer in the form and reports work correctly. For the second form nothing. Something I did notice is that in the first form the ReportViewer1 has a name in properties. In the second form there is no line with the name of the control.
View 4 RepliesI have a questions I want to take the data of a vb.form, and transfer it to an html page with the same layout and formatting is this possibile?
My thought of how to do it is; Take screen shot of the active window i.e. the vb.net form and have it save the image to the same name and have the html file have iframe that calls the image. However how do i make sure that it takes the screen shot of the vb.net form everytime and how do i do that lol... are there any good reads on how to use an xml file as a database I work on a closed server that doesnt allow mssql or the installation of the required addon for mysql i think xml is the best and easiest way to go because I dont have access database either.
Dim btnDym As New Button
btnDym.Text = "Dynamic"
'set size
btnDym.Height = 25
btnDym.Width = 150
'set location
btnDym.Left = 100
btnDym.Top = 100
Me.Controls.Add(btnDym)
when creating dynamic controls how do I associate code with the control ie on button click do this etc, and does anyone have any good read's on dynamic control arrays
I have added a .jpg file to the resources folder in my project. I then added the file as a resource so it shows up under the resources folder in the Solution Explorer. However, when I go to call the resource file in my code it doesn't show up in the list of available resources. Here is what I am trying to do:
[Code]....
when people first run my program (as in the FIRST EVER time they run it), I want a window to popup (Form4). In this Form you have to locate a directory to a certain program (my program uses this program) and press OK, and then that will generate a .txt file with the directory to the program. (So that my program knows where that program is located.) Now, what I want it to do is when you open up the program, upon load (Form1), I want the program to check if that text file (directory.txt) exists. If it does and the path in the file is correct, the program will run fine. If the text file is missing and/or the directory doesn't exist, it will bring you back to Form4 (assuming that this is your first time running the program since the directory.txt file doesn't exist).
View 5 RepliesIs there a way to have a form within a program that doesn't dispose when you close it? I have a form in my project and a menu item to show it. When I declare the form globally and show in menuItem.click, then the click event breaks because the form no longer exists. When I declare the form within menuItem.click, then this creates a new form every time I click and that's not what I want.
View 1 Repliesi am putting this article in the right section. Actually i need a way to import all the controls i have in my html file on the vb.net application windows form.Basically i want a way to have a replica of my html page on to the vb.net windows form.in finding a way to read the content of the html file as we read the content of the xml file in vb.net.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to create a website that will take input from user, and when user clicks submit, it will run the asp.net file which will take the data and place it into a MS Access Table. I have created the html page, the asp.net file and the db. But when user clicks Submit, a pop up comes up that asks user to either open, save or cancel the asp.net file. What am I doing wrong. Here is the code from the Asp.net file:

I'm trying to create a proxy for cross-domain AJAX POST queries and, in order to do that, I need to be adding the cookies from my client (browser)'s request into the POST request I send to the PHP backend, which is using HttpWebRequest. In order to do this, I'm adding each of the Request.Cookie into the HttpWebRequest.CookieContainer object. For some reason, none of the cookies I add to it ever get to my PHP backend.
I understand from some searches that the CookieContainer object is URI-dependent (I'm not sure how to even explain it!), so perhaps that's the cause of my issues. However, I've tried setting the domain on my cookie to different things and it doesn't seem to affect it. So maybe URI means something different than the Cookie's Domain parameter. If that's the case, I'm stuck.

In my application I'm exporting an Excel file by getting the layout of a HTML page. So, in my codebehind, I'm modifying the HTML layout and inserting itens on it like if it was a webpage. Doing it that way, I don't need to use any external library and, as the data I'm exporting is just a table, I don't need nothing complex to handle it. My question is: there is a way to create an AutoFilter by just modifying the HTML tags? I mean, like if a put a < b>Column Name in the HTML, when exporting to Excel it will become Bold, it is possible to do the same thing with the AutoFilter?
View 1 RepliesSo i've been working on a page for a project where the person logs into a login page and then can see a list from the database of employees. everything is working except for one problem. If someone puts in a username and password, username= a and password=b, for example it still allows that individual to view the next page and doesn't throw the error that i have enbedded on the login page to say sorry you have the incorrect password/username. The working code that i have so far is below:

I have a form which contains a fairly large number of values. I am currently submitting with a POST method, but I wish to convert this to do it with jQuery via AJAX. I have been experimenting with converting my code-behind "save to database" function into a Web Method. I am using a two-step function method, firstly preparing all the variables from Request.Form("parameterName") and then passing them all into a "saveData" function as follows:
[Code]...
From the post mentioned above, I can see I can send this string, but how do I process it server-side when recieved? The article implied that HttpContext.Current.Request.Form("parameterName") should work, but it doesn't... I'm guessing because I need to access it from the txtQuery variable..
I'm working on a simple base form in which all the other forms in the project will inherit. This base form only adds 5 properties (at the moment) dealing with painting a gradient background. The problem I'm facing right now is when I change a property on Form1 (the test form) and click run it doesn't show that change. I also checked the .designer.vb file and when I make a change it's not added to the code behind file, I'm at a loss right now to why.

Background: My VB .Net application is a back-end solution that works with a proprietary Linux-based middle-ware messaging architecture developed by our company. My application references to the middle-ware DLLs, obtains connectivity, and subscribes to specific broadcasts with the middle-ware. When the broadcasts are received, it handles processes them and inserts/updates certain tables in a database. To do so, it has specific notification classes to handle each type of broadcast. These classes adhere to the inheritance model imposed by the middle-ware DLLs.
