View 7 RepliesIm trying to Get the mac of the local computer(s) on a network and Enable/Disable the Connectiong adapter that is UP (In use), i know i can do this with the system as it stands and for a while i've used a *.bat file to do this for me but not i want a more elabrate way of doing it using a program i make for this, i will also be making it Control other computers remote on my network the same with a simple server side, in the future!, i just need it to Work on the local computer, I've read up about diffrent ways of doing this, like Getting the MAC via Registry like so:

In html it's easy to get a button to get an file on your local hard drive but I can't seem to find or remember how to do it for a VB application (using Visual Basic 2010). What I would like is for the button to find a local directory, select it and then add the address to a textbox.

My address from my router (primary address) is 192.168.1.25, or also it would be Dns.GetHostAddress(Dns.GetHostName).GetValue(4) which is the 5th element in the array If I'm obtaining a users local IP address on various machines with various amounts of network adapters, my program will break. I must know the IP of the primary Windows Ethernet/Wireless adapter in use.

I'm trying to write a program that detects the contents inside a textbox, and if empty displays a warning, and does not input anything into a rich text box. However, if something is detected, it would not display the warning and input the textbox's text into the rtb.
I got everything else, just need help with the textbox detection code.

Being that we are a small business as well, we can't afford to mass ship catalogs to our clients, so I decided to build a catalog application/business card that can be emailed to them. The app is rep. specific, and after choosing which options suit them best using text fields and combo boxes, upon clicking submit, the customers' info is emailed to the rep.
To do this, I am trying to get a popup window that displays an email form with the 'mailto' address previously set, so it can't be altered and the info from the previous screen to be pasted in the body of the email. Upon clicking the confirm button, the mail is sent and the window is closed. I already have the code to copy the info from the textbox and combobox entries and paste it into the textbox in the next form, but getting the email form to be functional is appearing to be quite a feet.

Like on bit defender firewall, say aim6.exe trys to connect to a server, how could i warn the user of this???? (Maybe using winsock)

I want to get local system ip address using vb.net. I trying to use Net.Dns.GetHostAddresses(My.Computer.Name)(0).ToString and it works fine in some pc's. I am using local area network and for some pc's it is returning one ipaddress and for some pc's it is returning two ipaddress. ex: 0.4.1.0 and 192.168.0.160.
Why I am getting two ip's for some pc's.
