Create A Text Box That Will Accept Numbers In The Currency Format?
Aug 2, 2009I need to create a control for input a currecncies to a field. I'm planning to use a Textbox.
This is the format of the text box for currencies:
"XXXXXXXX.XX"
the dot "." must be fixed in the textbox and it should be loaded with the textbox. Furthermroe i have plans to code eachtime a user enters a number it should print the numbers from Right ot left.
eg: When user enters Number 1234.34
When the user enter these number they should display them as:
when user enters 1
0000.01
when the user enters 2:
0000.12
when the user enter 3:0001.23
When the user enters 4:
0012.34
When the user enters 3:0123.43
When the user enters 4:(after entering all digits in the number)1234.34
Could any one give a couple of ideas how to creat these kind of boxes?
I was thinking about creating a custom control (a Textbox) but still i need to have a the above format in the textbox!

First I need to use the column and row values (from the header information) to read into my file to specify which values to put into the array. I think i have to use both counters simultaneously, and although Ive read in the first line (columns) I can't get the next line in. Do I have to use a counter under a different name, and can I do it in a nested loop?

Jan 5, 2010I am using VS 2005 pro and VB.NET. How do you format the DataGridView.DefaultCellStyle.format property for zip codes and phone numbers. I have a zip code and phone number column(s) that I want to be formatted. I have tried a lot of different things:
Zip code: "99999-0000" or "Phone Number: "(999)000-0000" or "(000)000-0000" and the like So far nothing has worked. I can get my date columns formatted correctly, but not these. Can any one give me some examples that work?

Dec 15, 2009All of my regional settings in control panel are set to UK but when I retrieve a date from an SQL database (run from my PC) in my program, it appears in the MM-DD-YYYY format rather than the DD-MM-YYYY format that I expect.
After a bit of troubleshooting I found that this is because of the fact that SQL server always stores its dates in that format - so then when my program reads the data from the database it interprets it as being the US format.How can I convert this to UK format bearing in mind I am working with Date objects not strings?

I am using Format(object, "MON DD YYYY HH:MIAM") and am getting screwy results ... "2006-09-17 00:00:00.000" becomes "9ON DD YYYY 00:9IA9".
