May 25, 2009I'm building a small program and I have a numbers only textbox where its content need to be higher than 1. So what I have is a messagebox pop when the text change and its lower or equal to 0. What I'd like to do is have the text changed to what it was before the number was changed to <= 0.Here's what I have for the control:

Focus Moves To Next Textbox When Any Text Entered
Oct 22, 2010I'm working on an application to write reports for the work I do. I have a Grid filled with Textboxes inside a Scrollviewer to input data for the report. I am using the arrow keys to navigate around the grid. The focus moves to the expected Textbox when the arrow keys are pressed but if I press any other key it is immediately followed by a Tab to the next Textbox. Even a Tab is followed by another Tab. Following is the code I use for the navigation.

Apr 14, 2009I am working in VB 2008 and I have a textbox on a form that is used to enter a parcel number. I can enter the number in a 15 character string such as 12345678...... and it works just fine. The parcel number in real life contains dashes to make it easier to read, decipher, etc. so it looks like 12-3-45-67....... Under the textchanged subroutine for the textbox I have a case statement set up that checks the length of the parcel number as it is entered and inserts the dash accordingly.

Aug 18, 2010Hi, I'm working on a program that reads text entered into a textbox and creates a list of items by separating entries by commas. Everything is working fine, except, because I am using an array to store the items in the list, I have a limited number of entries. This is only a problem because, as it is written currently, each comma counts as an individual entry. Therefore, users can enter ",,," for example, and it would use up 3 places in the array.
I'm looking for a way to check to make sure there is text after the comma before adding an entry. I've attempted to use the .substring command to check the character after, which works until it gets to the last character. Because there is no character after that, it will give an error.
Here is my code for extra clarity:

Apr 6, 2011I recieved a gift recently visual studio 2010 ultimate a nice suprise I have been repairing and building PC's and networks for years working in local shops and buisnesses, but always wanted to learn programming so my GF purchased this for me nice suprise. So here is my beginner question. I am making a program that will take check info ( check number, amount, date and person or buisness wrote to). I have no plans on using it just trying to learn variable structures and arrays and thought this type of program was a good start. Now I would like to take the text of a text box in runtime and use that to input a new check number into the variable structure. Just so I am not confusing anyone I will write the basic code

Jul 28, 2009This is my first post on this forum, so please excuse me if I'm posting wrong. Anyway, I've been having an issue that I've never seen before and is driving me nut, I have a windows form on which I have placed many textboxes that display information from a MS SQL database. The user can then change these values and hit a "save" button which writes the changes to the database. I also have certain textboxes that with the "on leave" event (after a user enters a possible new value) trigger a method that recalculates some of the other fields based on the new information. Hopefully that all makes sense.
So the problem is, when I run through this "recalc" method the first time around, it doesn't update those textboxes that it's supposed to. However, when I put a breakpoint in and debug through it, the debugger shows it putting in the correct values into the textboxes. It's just as soon as the method is done, it puts them back to blank, or whatever they were before

in my textbox will be a location like London, i want to be able to validate that it is correct by looking in my text file to see if it is there?
my textfile would be written like this:
