I have two separate projects and I need to bundle them together as a single solution, how do I? I am using VB2008 in VS2008.
View 4 RepliesI have a VB.NET solution (call it S1) which produces a .vb file (say File1.vb) to be compiled and then included in another solution (S2). S2 is a console app which I want to run from a cmd prompt, not VS. My plan is to shell out from S1 to run a batch file to do the compile and then copy the .dll file, overwriting the old one in S2 (then I can run S2 in a separate operation). I really just want to know if I actually coded the array correctly. I've found the same project on here but I wasn't even really sure if what they had up was correct. I have a pretty solid idea of how to get through this I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed. If you notice any other errors please point them out. and i have a compare button on the VB form. Is there any code that can compare the Company_Data with User_Data and copy all the records not found in User_Data to Changes_Data table. When updating it should update the "updated on" Column to the current Date.
Same needs to be done in the opposite way. Compare User_Data with Company_Data and note the diff. No Need to update Salary in this case.
I have created a small app that gives, User Name, Pc Name, Domain & Local IP Address. I run the exe from my pc (development pc), it works fine. I put the exe on network shared folder and run it from my pc, It works fine. I put the exe on network shared folder and run it from another pc (logged in as admin) it gives "Application attempt to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To Grant this application the required permission, contact your system administrator, or use the Microsoft .Net framework Configuration Tool."
so, I contacted my self (since I am the System admin) :) and myself did not know the answer even after I read this [URL]... which says On the Web server, open Administrative Tools, and then double-click Microsoft .NET Framework Configuration. and the the other pc is XP not Windows server.Now If i copy the exe to this pc on a local drive, it will work fine and give right result. Another weird thing is when I run this exe from Windows 2003 server, and it gives a security warning, after i press ok, all the result was fine except the ip address with was "::1"

I have a pretty complicated project with lots of class files, code modules, etc. There was a changed to one of my referenced DLLs that requires an isolated change in a single Sub within my solution. Unfortunately, this new Sub is not compatible with most of my clients' configuration but is required by some of my other clients. So now I must keep two versions in Source Safe of my solution - which I do not want to do. What I would like to do is to be able to determine which DLL is running and flip a switch to use the either the old Sub or the new Sub. Currently the sub is in a class, but I could break it out. Is it possible to determine which assembly version DLL is running? Also, if I reference the new DLL, the old Sub will not build. If I reference the old DLL, the new Sub will not build. So is there a way to keep both Subs in the same project?

Set up a form with 4 rows of pictures boc controls. when a start button is clicked the mouse is "behind" one of the buttons while a stop image is behind 3 other picture boxes. The object of the game is to click the correct picturebox that contains the mouse. If the stop image appears before the mouse then the game is over. I don't understand how the logic works.

And I only want to have a single row in this table. I then write the changes to an xml file. The user will edit the row in this table save the values in the settings.properties. And then when ready write the changes to the config file.
However, I am thinking is there a better way. As I have to keep removing the row that was currently added. Then create a new one.

Using: Visual Studio 2005.We are developing three different applications. We currently have 4 different modules that we all share among our applications. When a change is made to one of the modules, we must make changes to the other two modules.If it is possible, how do you (where do you) create a single location for one file to be shared among three different applications? If you mark your application using "Make Single Instance Application" option in the application settings tab and run your application under a GUEST account or a restricted limited/standard account the application throws UnAuthorizedAccessException or CantStartSingleInstanceException.
Take the following steps to reproduce this behavior.
1) Create Windows Form application.
2) Enable the "Make Single Instance Application" in the project properties.
3) Log onto a GUEST account and open the application twice to simulate StartUpNextInstance.
We need developers to reproduce this behavior and post any valuable input if you experience these symptoms.
When posting information please include the following:
a) The operating system version + service pack.
b) The .NET framework version used.
c) Verify this symptom is present when running under GUEST account.
To workaround this issue turn off the "Make Single Instance Application" option ad create a Local named mutex in the StartUp() event.

I am wanting to create a large amount of files all copied from a single original file. I then have a list of names in a listbox that each of of these files will rename to. However I am getting an error saying that the file already exists in the save location even though the files are saving to a totally different folder...

I have to create an image that is to mimic a single clock rotating hand within a square area,and the user has to choose the width and speed of the rotation and the direction.i managed to create the square area with a hand inside,with this codes and variables,

Say I have a code with 3 methods that do some pretty intensive work. Would executing these methods on 3 seperate threads be faster then executing them one after the other on a single core cpu? And what if it's a dual core or HT?

The query will pull all the email address that are not null. What I need to know is how to take the result of that query and make it look like this:

I use SqlParameters when executing database statements. I know that I can replace a single quote with two single quotes... but in the past SqlParameters took care of this for me.
