A weird thing just happened. I created a program wich creates folders and now when i want to "save as" an excel document in a folder created by my program this error occurs:[URL].. But this only error occurs if i try to save as an excel document

View 2 RepliesI have a winform application written with vb2010.I changed the "Language" property of a winform of my application to german, only for testing purpose. I built the application and in my indebug folder it was created a new de folder with the localized resource file "appname.resources.dll". Then I set back the "Language" property to (Default) and "Localizable" to FALSE and built again the application, but the de folder with its appname.resources.dll were created again. I have controlled each form in my application, the My Project setting too,nothing points to any other culture. I deleted the whole debug folder, but after each build, I get always the de subfolder.I cannot understand what is changed in my application now: why does the compiler create a localized resource if I set back the form properties?I repeated the same for a new culture (afrikaans), to discover any changes in the form properties: I found nothing that could help me, but now I get two subfolders.: de and af

I thought through the idea of how i would attempt it, but only came up with one idea; Text files, a folder for each year, and a folder for each month.. when the user creates a new event a text file gets created in: e.g. \2010\Jan\12.txt and if another event is on that same day, the text is added into the same text file. But this leaves lost hopes for my other ideas, since it will get very complicated. Like yearly events, monthly events etc.

View 5 RepliesI want to make an application that's pretty much all server side. I have everything sorted, apart from downloading images from my server. I have a listbox containing all the game names, in this format.
pacman
rallyx
mspacman
asteroids
There are many more, that's just an example.
Each game name is stored as a folder on my server. Inside those folders is the games boxart, called boxart.png. What I want to do is make an application that makes those folders and downloads the images. I have made the "create a folder for each game name" code already, now I just need to add another line or two to download the image inside those created folders.

I have a Car object that does a few things, but I need the program to create New Cars without having to write the code for every new one. Basically, the user checks some combination of Checkboxes and then pushes a button. And I need the program to create a New Car with a unique name for each combination of checked Checkboxes when the button is pushed.
For example, if Checkboxes 1,3,5 were all checked, it would create a New Car that had a different name than the New Car that is created when Checkboxes 1,2,3 are checked.
But I also need the program to be able to check when a New Car has already been assigned to some combination of checkboxes, so that it doesn't create a New Car every time that Checkbox 1,2,3 are checked and instead will use the Car that was already created.
I was thinking about creating a program that creates an .exe file. Hi, I'm working on a program that reads text entered into a textbox and creates a list of items by separating entries by commas. Everything is working fine, except, because I am using an array to store the items in the list, I have a limited number of entries. This is only a problem because, as it is written currently, each comma counts as an individual entry. Therefore, users can enter ",,," for example, and it would use up 3 places in the array.
I'm looking for a way to check to make sure there is text after the comma before adding an entry. I've attempted to use the .substring command to check the character after, which works until it gets to the last character. Because there is no character after that, it will give an error.

I have been reading through Atheists posts in regards to client-server and TCP client/server connection's. But how do i go about writing a program with 1 client and server where the client side creates a text file.Once the server sees there is a text file it connects and downloads it to itself or the client pushes the text file to the server.Once on the server i will read the text file and put its info into a sql db.

I have created three resources which the one that are ZH-CH (Chinese), el-GR (Greece) and en-US (English-United States). I have also built some texts in the resources so I have debugged the program. Everything seen to be is fine, but I find that some weird stuff in the project bin folder. I found that the program has created three folders (ZH-CH, el-GR and en-US) with the dll file in each folder (Project1.resources.dll), I have renamed each dll files name with each different name and I have moved them in the bin folder, so I have deleted three folders. I ran the program again and they have created the new same folders with the same name where it was.
I want to use the same dll files that I have renamed (like each of these: English.dll, Greek.dll and Chinese.dll) without placing them in the resources folder. Id find it so impossible to avoid the program by creating these new folders with the same dll files name without using the files that I have renamed them and placed in the project bin folder. do to find out where the information in VB.Net application that are making the program to create the folders with the same dll files name (project1.resources.dll)?
I am making a program that gets files and folders off the internet.I want to make a window simular to a windows explorer window only these would get the files online.My problem is href tags for each one of the nodes and then get the files into the listview control. The Build Action property is set to "Content" and the Copy to Output Directory is set to "Copy always" for this file. In the Application Files dialog box, Publish Status=Include for the file. After running setup.exe, the app is installed properly in the Start/All Programs/MBCI folder, but the readme.txt file is not there. Is the file installed somewhere else?

But what id like is a checked treeview, that not only displays the folder list, but the actually folder contents as well.
I could not figure out the key to installing folders/subfolders/.rtf files during deployment/installation. The key here is to 'add' folders and subfolders to the project in solution explorer, then adding existing item (.text (.rtf files in my case) files) then selecting the .rtf file in solution explorer.go to its properties and under 'Build Action' select 'Content' (very Important!). Then under 'Copy to Output' select 'Copy if newer'!Then in code to access these files you use the following code:

Finally after 3 days of research and 2 days at the msdn forum picking peoples minds (smarter than mine) and lots of prayer, I got it!
I use the code below to fill the list box and it works great. But i need it to only look in the \Software and \Software\FolderName Foldername could be any folder in the Software folder i need it to get all the .exe from software folder and only one more folder deep no more.
