May 14, 2011does VB2010 express offer a different deployment than Click-Once?
On the MSDN help pages i did not see any of the items that were described when using File->Add-New Project.

Jul 20, 2009I have developed a WinForm app using vb.net. The app needs to send an email notification to users containg the id of an item that needs thier attention. The email needs to contain the link and commandline parameters so that the user can clik on the link and the app will open the correct form, with the item to be updated, already loaded. Click Once installs the app under the users directory ("Documents nd setting\%USERNAME%Start MenuPrograms\%AppName%..."), so, the email has to contain the user name as part of the path.
- How can click once be configured so that the instalation is in the program files directory to avoid having to add the username as path of the path?
- how do send a link which contains a parameter that directs the app to load a speciified form (not the startup form)?

Jan 9, 2009Hi, can anyone help me with a click once deployment query?I have packaged an application, using Click Once - it all works absolutely fine, with the exception of some files I need on the C: drive. For example: My application populates an Excel.xlt template with data, using an export function. The path of the template is c:program filesaem
eport.xlt
If the application is packaged, there is no option that I can see where you can include this template and the path to the file. The only way around it is to manually copy the template (and half a dozen other files in the same folder), after the click-once deployment - but this kind of defeats the object.

The problem I have is replacing the template.ini file which exists in the sqlexpr32.exe cab file. Winrar and winzip allow me to open the sqlexpr32.exe but will not allow me to edit, add or replace the template.ini.I also cannot find the path where the sqlexpr32.exe extracts to as I want to use that path for the settings file eg "template.ini".[code]

I need a way to have the file included and I am unable to find a external copy and I understand that I cannot just copy the dll from my PC into the installation folder

May 7, 2012Have built a project and associated it with a Setup&Deployment Project. The S&D project needs to contain 2 main folders (under User's Desktop) with various formats of files (xmls, txts, dlls) inside them and several subfolders. How can i copy/import these 2 folders and there sub-files/folders into my s&d project?
When adding them in the usual way, they are copied and defined a source path onto the current pc. You can understand what errors this might create when an another targeted pc does not contain those files to the exact location. Is there any way to copy them locally or somehow import them?

May 27, 2009I'm deploying my first VB .NET windows program onto our local network. Its a firewalled intranet, and our adminstrator has it locked down tight internally. All our applications will never see the outside world, they are for internal use only...accounting, shipping, and other DB's located in 6 remote plants. So, do I need to offer up any kind of certification with "signing" in my "click once" deployment?

Feb 24, 2010I have compiled my app to x86 so that it will run in a 64 bit processor, the issue I am facing right now is that when I install the app in under application folder I am not able to edit the config file which is in the same folder of the exe. how to give admin previlages to the application ?

When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

Dec 1, 2010I want to create a server control that inherits System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button but gives it special capability, now what do i mean? i want my button to be a confiorm button that will work like so:
Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I want the programmer that adds this control to be able to register a function to the click event of the yes button. and the second cancel confirmation button should make the first button appear agian. (i know how to do this all in the client side but this time i need it all as server events)
My question is this: how do i catch the click event? i want it all to be handled inside the server control itself. so a programmer that adds this control wont have to worry about anything but just needs to register to the click event of the "yes" button.
