Problem displaying a graphics form from another forms button click event without losing the XY data plot.
If the Startup form is the GraphWindow form the Graphlib.vb calls create a XY data plot.

On Page load i bind user controls UC1, UC2 with selected value of radiobutton.But when i select new value in radiobutton it fires selectionchanged event, executes bind method but doesn't update uc1,uc2 values. Similarly I'm trying to get button commandargument when button is clicked and update usercontrols but it doesn't.What could be causing them not to update even when bind method is executed?
I seem to be having a problem with displaying data in a second form. I've created a linear search algorithm which works just fine - it locates the records from the database. I now want to be able to display the record in another form, I've attempted this using the code below but it doesn't seem to work:

The commented out lines are the ones that don't seem to work. The "txtfirstname" and "txtlastname" fields are located in the coding of another form, called "formcustomers".
i got a problem in displaying my data from the form to rich text format. what i want to happen is that: the rich text should display the text according to the order of inputs in the form. for example: the form allows the user to make and exam with answers. what will be display in rich text are the questions from the form with answers in a separate page.

I would like to show these saved details onto another form. Is there a way to select rows and cells in the database and fetch the data in them to display them onto labels?

Before it leaves the procedure I'm checking the DataSet row and I see that the Variable are there.In the next step it goes to a form on which I'm viewing the relative report.The Last form has only the Load event, nothing else. there is no any row .
First let me start off by saying that I have dealt with Winsock for MANY years and am attempting to convert my project over from vb6 to VB.Net.This program was made to handle up to 70 connections at a time and constantly sending data from Server to clients and back.
There is one packet however, that reaches up to be around 177kb when sent. The sockets are set up to sent 1kb at a time.... (No other packet actually uses the whole kb). It seems that after the server sends this large packet... the client receives the data out of order. After debugging and monitoring I find that it normally happens between 3-4kb. While the first 3 are good and in order.My question is, is there a different system I should use instead of just Sockets (I have had similar problems with TCPClient) and/or can someone maybe link me to a sample project that would not have this error?

But they don't seem to work. Once the form reaches the end (after the user press enter), it just display a blank screen. But what i want is for the form to start all over again without losing the values. Is there a way to do that?
I have three forms frmStudent, frmClass and frmMain. I want to add code so that if the user focuses on another form without saving a message box will appear to prompt the user to save. This is necessary because If the user starts entering data on another, related formand assumes that the changes from the first form were saved, then there could be integrity issues.
I have tried formating the deactivate event, but when I hit yes it just deletes the record entered.

I've created a small form that acts like the office notifications (fades inout above the notification icon tray)I'm having problems showing this form, I want to display it without the focus being taken from my main application (or any other form), I've managed to get the attached code doing roughly this, (using Me.Activate to take back focus) But this isn't great - focus switches for an instant plus I want to show the form from various areas in my application...

Having some issues with creating a simple control in vb.net.
I create a control with a single label in, I don't change anything except the colour of the control and the label and also making the label anchor to the edges ( with a small border around the edge)
When i then build it and add this control to a form. Some of the edges are cut off and it isn't anchored the way it was in the control.[url]...
as you can see in the second image the control has lost its white border at the right and bottom.

View 4 RepliesI am having a problem where I am on a text box and try to click a button that will bring up some reports. Since my cursor is still on the text box it doesn't go through the "Leave" and so what I entered into the text box is not saved (this happens in "Leave"). I have read previously not to use "Lost Focus" because it causes problems when you leave the form it triggers the "Lost Focus" on on the fields and just in general to use "Leave" rather than "Lost Focus". Is there a way to force my way through the "Leave"? I also don't know which field my cursor could be on (there are probably 20 text box or combo box fields on this form.

View 1 RepliesI need to display images when I press a key on the keyboard. I have a form with a textbox and a label on it. When I type a letter in the textbox it appears on the label. I got that part to work. But now I want to display a image in the label when I press a key on the keyboard. I have found some images on the internet that I want to display when I press a key on the keyboard. For example when I type the letter A in the textbox instead of A appearing I want an image of an apple to appear, or if I type the letter B a banana would appear, or if I type the letter D a dog would appear. I have been searching on how to this I came across the keyboard event such as the keypress event. Can I use a keypress event of the textbox to do this. Can I assign a certain image to a certain key on the keyboard, and have that image display whenever I press that key.

The dragging and dropping is working nicely, as it allows the user to put a pair of dots onto a rectangle, which is exactly what it is supposed to do. However, I would like to give them some information about where they are dropping the points. My first thought was that I could use a tooltip. However, it appears that tooltips are not displayed during drag events. The tooltip works well, and is showing what I want, once I have released the mouse button, but not before then. The only other alternative I can think of, and it is not a very appealing alternative, is that I have some labels elsewhere on the form to display the information.

View 2 RepliesI have two forms in an application. One is he background and then I show another keypad form called with the show() method (not showDialog) because I need to perform some validations on btn click.
The kepad has 10 buttons and an Enter Button. The problem is that the form keeps loosing focus (I checked this with a messagebox which keeps poping up once for focus=true and again for focus=false, it continuously keeps losing and gaining focus) so it does not process any keypress events untill i click somewhere on the form. I tried using me.focus() in form load event but to no avail. The forms TopMost property is also set to true.
