Rich Textbox - Extract The Data From Box 1 And Box 2 And Put It Into Box 3 Without Losing The Formatting
Apr 23, 2010
I have 3 rich textboxes on my form and I need to extract the data from box 1 and box 2 and put it into box 3 without losing the formatting (as you know richtext boxes can support colour and picture formatting that i currently have in box 1 and 2). I tried the following but it strips all the formatting from box 1 and box 2.
I have a number of text boxs that gather data and put it in a combined string in a rich text box that displays all of the collected data. Some of the text boxes require data pasted from other sources however when that data is then copied from the rich text box to the clipboard through a routine, it loses its formatting. home to maintain the original formating?
I have a asp.net page that generates a report. For better or for worse, the entire thing is generated using nested tables. I am able to export the page to excel, however I lose all my formatting (can't set column widths, etc). Is there a way to handle this? I'm open to adding any goofy MS Office -specific tags that are required to the html side of it.If this isn't feasible and if anyone has any other ideas, the requirement is that users need a report that:
a) They can manually touch up with some personalization / area-specific data
b) Needs to be hide/show columns based on user's location
I am trying to copy the contents of a word document which is basically in a letter format.I am trying to copy it onto a rich text box editor...but when i copy it..i am losing all the formatting of the word document. This is the code i was using
Dim aDoc As Word.Document = WordApp.Documents.Open(outfile, missing, [readOnly], missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, missing, isVisible) aDoc.ActiveWindow.Selection.WholeStory()[code]......
I have some WORD files, which are formatted using bold, italic and colors etc. I want to copy entire content of word file into SQL Server table using Visual Basic.NET.I have a RichTextBox on my form and used datatype nvarchar(max) to store Unicode Hindi data. Everything is working fine... data insert and retrieve is OK, but formatting is GONE.
I'm reading in values from an array of arbitrary size into a text box. Easy enough. However, in my application, certain values of the data are unusable and I'd like to give a visual warning to the user when this occurs. Whenever the data is either negative or greater than 10, I'd like to display that value in red. How can I do this with a RTB?
Are there standard controls for formatting, which I can add to the form or the toolbar? I mean font selector, text size selector, bold button, and so on. OR do I have to create them myself. If they are standard,l how do I add them? I can't find any such thing in the toolbox.
I have a DGV and a TextBox into my form. The TextBox displays the "DGV.rows.count" for example as "3" but i want to show me "00003". How can i format this textbox to display data like "000XX"?
I am using vb.net 2003. In my program I access an Access database file via Jet 4.0 and OleDbDataAdapter.I have several tables constructed with text boxes that are filled with data using OleDbDataAdapter.Fill. This all works fine. When Integer data is displayed in the boxes it is shifted to the left as text. How do I format these textboxes when I am filling them with the Fill statement? I would like them numbers to be shifted to the right and have commas placed every third didgit.
Public Shared Sub AddRowData(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Dim myDataCol As DataColumn Dim myDataRow As DataRow
[code]....
Before it leaves the procedure I'm checking the DataSet row and I see that the Variable are there. In the next step it goes to a form on which I'm viewing the relative report. The Last form has only the Load event, nothing else. there is no any row .
First let me start off by saying that I have dealt with Winsock for MANY years and am attempting to convert my project over from vb6 to VB.Net.This program was made to handle up to 70 connections at a time and constantly sending data from Server to clients and back.
There is one packet however, that reaches up to be around 177kb when sent. The sockets are set up to sent 1kb at a time.... (No other packet actually uses the whole kb). It seems that after the server sends this large packet... the client receives the data out of order. After debugging and monitoring I find that it normally happens between 3-4kb. While the first 3 are good and in order. My question is, is there a different system I should use instead of just Sockets (I have had similar problems with TCPClient) and/or can someone maybe link me to a sample project that would not have this error?
How do I do text formatting in a Text Box? I want to bold a selection on a textbox without affecting the rest of the text. HOw do I do this with Textbox and RichText formattting?
Problem displaying a graphics form from another forms button click event without losing the XY data plot.
If the Startup form is the GraphWindow form the Graphlib.vb calls create a XY data plot. Code outline (not everything included): (Sub GraphWindow_Paint(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As SysPaintEventArgs) _ Handles Me.Paint) Call Graphscale(xmin, xmax, ymin, ymax) Call DrawAxis(10,10)
i just want to know if it is possible to store the formatting of a text to ms sql so that the next time i retrieve a record that i've already formatted, it will display the format that i did for that record.if possible, how would i implement it in mssql?
Okay so I've got something, where when a button(Button1) is pressed, Text Appears in the RichTextBox When you press Button2, I want more text, in the same textbox, to be on a different line. I can get the text on the SAME line, but not a different one.
I am trying to change color of a selectedtext in Rich TextBox.When user check color radio button it should change the color of the selected text.I have 4 radio buttons inside groupbox. Can someone tell me how do i select text and change color.Below is my code but its not working as expected.[code]....
Basically I'm writing a little piece of photo-editing software and I would like the user to be able to write whatever they want as a caption for the photo. VB then writes that text in a blank space created under the picture. Pretty straightforward, I've got it printing the text and it can adjust for height differences (i.e. multiple lines of text, smaller fonts, etc.).
My issues arise in the horizontal direction, I cannot make the Richtextbox large enough to represent the width of the photos (Some pictures have dimensions several thousand pixels wide and most monitors cannot display that many...) so I have used horizontal scroll bars (wordwrap off) to allow the user to scroll across and see all the text. Now what I would like to do is to set a limit to how much text the user can enter on a line (based on pixels to accommodate for various fonts/sizes) and it seems to me that setting the .RightMargin to just a little less than the picture dimension (to allow for padding) should do just that. [Code]
Is it possible to have a Textbox on a form that when the user inputs data, ( during Runtime )that data remains in the Textbox for good and the Textbox then becomes read only ? Is it also possible to make it so that the CD with the programme on, is in the PC when the programme is being used. Perhaps writing the Textbox data back onto the CD ?
I created a small Rectangle Shape that represents a specific color. How can I add it to a line in a RichTextbox? For example, the string would look like this: RectangleShape (represents department) + Department Name + Price etc.
I have an application that allows the user to define text in a rich textbox. I would like to give the user the ability to define text for one or more languages. I don't think this will be a problem using the rich textbox as it allows for unicode characters and DBCS (please let me know if this is incorrect). My question is, I display this text throughout the app in other controls as well, such as a listbox, label, etc. by acquiring the RTF's Text property (plain text). Are there problems with other controls displaying unicode/DBCS characters? I realize that I may have to toggle the font of the control in question depending on the language (I will allow the user to specify a default font per language).
