Dissolve Red To White Background In A Text Box?

That mostly says it, I don't know much more to add. (-: The background is some random red after the execution of a sub routine. I then would like to have the backcolor dissolve from what ever value of red is present to a full white in about 1 second without showing other colors.(Unless it looks really neat...) Red could be anywhere from RGB(0,?,?) to RGB(255,?,?) when it starts to dissolve. Obviously the closer to 255 would make a smaller amount to change. However, I could be just as happy to see it go from RGB(150, to RGB(255, ?, ?) to get it started. The foreground is black numbers.

1. When I insert an icon in my VB.NET form, for example: a small shield icon, a white box appears around it and it's very annoying and ugly! I want to disappear the white box at the back of my .ico image.
2. This white backgroud not only appears on .ico files, but also on normal image files like .png, .jpg, .bmp.

must stop the user from proceeding if the textbox is null,if the textbox has only spaces in it.i tried . trim but that doesnot work, still spaces are excapted as valid characters.

I've been wanting to create a look like the attached jpeg Ive been looking around for a few hours for a solution to make text boxes transparent or have a background image. I've found a few projects on this form and elsewhere which include transparent text boxes, but every time I try to use it the way I need to--with the text box over a picture box--there are always various rendering errors. Most of the time, the text box is transparent if its just placed on the form (not over any other controls). But when I place them over other controls (like picture boxes), the 'transparent background' always take on the color of the form background.
This is one that I was trying to use. I found a few others around, but they all had the same render errors more or less.[URL]...I figured transparency or background images would have been supported natively. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I missed something in my searches. I didn't really see anything which adds background images in text boxes (rich or otherwise). At this point, I'd just like anything that works, so it doesn't really need to have transparency--just a simple background image would be great.

I'm making a front end to dvdauthor.I have a picturebox which holds the menu background. In order to draw a textbutton on the background image I store the image in a hidden picturebox. So the text doesn't get drawn to the visible background.

This works the first time. But if I hit save again it writes the text to the background image on pbMenu1.

I've been searching all over the interwebs this afternoon trying to find a way to change the color of a disabled text box. As it stands, I'm still working on my first program (A very simple, select a shape from a combo box and input values and the program gives you the area) and I have it working well enough, I'm just working on cleaning up my code and changing that disabled text box color. As it stands, the default disabled color is very similar to the enabled color, and I don't want to just change the enabled color. I'd rather change the disabled to work with the scheme a little better.

I ran into the problem of not being able to set a labels text from a background worker thread and came across the way to do it, I modified the sub (which only worked for a specified control) to try and make it work with any control I specify, but I get parameter count missmatch on Me.Invoke(d, New Object() {[text]})

for a while now, i've been using labels and textboxes in my programs. labels to tell the property the user should enter in the text box. has anyone developed any textbox which can write, say, 'search criteria here' in faint silver which disappears when the user starts typing the search criteria in. it should be something like the dic reply box. has any one done this or seen a free control? i don't want to re-invent the wheel

I am adding watermark text to PDFs in a class library I have created. The code I posted below works fine, however the watermark is sometimes difficult to read because it overlays with content on the PDF. How would I go about adding a white background color around the watermark text? I basically would like the watermark text to be surrounded inside a white rectangle the size of the text.

I am using query from a SQLite database as the AutocompleteCustomSource for a ComboBox. Also, I want to load data in separate thread. My LoadData method works fine when called directly, but it fails when it is called from the BackgroundWorker thread. i trying to do a file upload, i want to image to save to image folder, however, the image don't know appear in the directory that i indicate if i click on "show all file", the image appear, but the image icon is blank or white like the image below show so i click on that image and click on "include it in the project", however, it shouldnt be the case that i everytime upload an image,i need to redo that again so how should i allow don't appear the white icon and to always appear in the upload folder when i upload a image instead of manually click on the image to include in ? is it visual studio problem? does i need to click on something to make the white icon disappear? So me and a friend started a project in school and we decided that i'll do most of the design part and he'll do most of the coding. I wanted to change the design on my buttons and changed the button image background and changed flatstyle to flat.
